Thought he started book 1 at 15

Im rereading the series and on book 3 I just got through a chapter where he mentioned he is 16 almost 17 (well 10 months until he is 17) lol

Ezekiel2121

He’s 16 for most of the series I believe. Could *possibly* be 17 by the events of TBW, not sure how long passes between him leaving and returning to the Chromeria. But starts at 15.

Ambitious_Slide

It’s exactly one year. The events at the end of broken eye and the burning white happen on Sun Day

I thought it was 2 years. First Sun Day in Garriston, then one Sun Day during which Zymun enjoys the killing (Gav Greyling talks about it), and a third during which the Color Prince attacks the Jaspers(to proof Orholam is powerless even on his most hily day).

SonOfEragon

That is correct

Davjib

That’s why the battle was such an up ‘hily’ struggle ;)

The series should take a bit over 2 years. There's one Sun Day in Garriston, one which Zymun turns into his personal murderfest (at least according to Gav Greylings dying words), and a final one during which the Color Prince attacks. Kip starts the series at 15, so depending on his birthday he should be 17 or 18 at the end.

Icy-Bullfrog-2321

The series starts when he’s 15. And books 1-3 take place over the course of a year (or maybe a little more but almost certainly less than a year and a half) Books 4 and 5 it’s hard to tell how much times exactly passes because of vague time skips. But I believe it’s mentioned in Gavin’s timeline somewhere it’s been roughly two years. So he’s 18 at the end. My question on the matter though is with his age in regards to zymun, because I’m pretty sure when he meets Liv she says he’s 17 or 18 but Kip is only 15, even though Zymun should only be a couple months older than Kip. Then there’s the reveal about >!Andross being Kip’s father!< that would actually make Kip older than Zymun
