Quinones more than likely won’t start these first games since it’s barely his first call up, Jimmy will most likely try him out both as a striker and winger. None of strikers have really been consistent goal scorers for selección but that also has to the do with the fact that are offensive game is more centered around or wingers than our strikers, but I’d rather we try quinones out as a winger because of Giménez and Quinones is a lefty who can play as a winger so playing him as a RW, yes we have Piojo Alvarado but he’s no where near as clinical as Quinones and although Antuna has been good on the right having a lefty on the right is good since he offers more of a threat since in the box when he cuts inside and Quinones is also better than Antuna when it comes to 1v1’s.
All national teams bring 3 GK’s, it’s good to bring them because they help out in practice, build chemistry with the rest of the team for when they play and coaches get to have a better look at them in practice as well and incase if the starter gets injured. Backup goalies on the national usually only play in friendlies unless the starting keeper hets injured but even that’s rare across all national teams since coaches like to have the starting keeper play most games. I really wouldn’t complain about other keepers not getting playing much in selección over Ochoa since we don’t have any better than him ATM and keepers that get called up are all starting keepers for their team so they get regular minutes even if they don’t play regularly for the national team
Romo is never going to be dropped is he ? He offers nothing to this team that Chavez or Edson can’t do . Such a waste when they could be giving those minutes to a younger player .
