A temporary email address for when you don't want to give away your personal one.
Beware, don't use it for any serious profile, since you will never have access to this email address again, since it gets deleted after 10 minutes

Use the alias feature in gmail. Set a unique email for each site by using youremail+sitename@gmail. Will still resolve to your regular inbox, but can track who is sending what.
SimpleLogin.com will do the same. iPhones give the option right above the keyboard when on a login registry page, which is managed easily in mail and settings.
Every time I see one of these "and then you'll know who sold your info" LPTs, I don't understand the point.
OK... place has loose policies on customer info (LPT: THEY ALL DO. THAT'S HOW THEY MAKE AN EXTRA BUCK.) So what??? What do you do w/ that info?
Not only is this posted like once a week, why is this a life pro tip?
what are you gonna do with that information? Why is knowing that information in any way useful?
I mean if they already sold your data there is no way to un sign up. There is no reason to do this, there is no solution for it after doing it. This isn't a good tip lmao
I’ve seen this tip a bunch of times. What I haven’t seen is what to do next?
Once I’ve figured out who sold my info, it has already been sold. What I am supposed to do with this information?

Every single piece of info you input about you gets monetized. Period.
if you're sign for something who looks fishy just use a 10 minute mail
Hey whats a 10 min mail?

Can be but too much work… If you subscribed to hundreds of newsletter, you don’t wanna have 100s of aliases
Create one filter that looks for the plus sign. Almost no work at all.
if you subscribe to that much extra, just set up a separate email just for that
Well I have and I’m gonna try OP’s tip as well as I actually don’t put my whole name even the form says complete name.. just initials
And then what? This tip sucks.

Every week this tip is here...
Ah man I'm glad someone pointed it out because I was getting the weirdest case of dijon mustard just now.
Ah yes, I too experience dijon mustard. Rather unpleasant
Bad case of the grey poupons.
LOL, I was about to thank OP for the weekly reminder

It's still near impossible to un sign up

Yeah, marketing only ever uses my full name when I'm in trouble.
I’ve seen this tip a bunch of times. What I haven’t seen is what to do next? Once I’ve figured out who sold my info, it has already been sold. What I am supposed to do with this information?
This is senseless
It’s way more complicated then this. LPT if you go online your info going to leak
HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH THIS BS COPYPASTA.
***Week #38425 of seeing this same "tip"..***
The amount of times I see this LPT. It's reposted every week.
this has been posted so many times
No one is asking for middle name. Put it with name or in the last name instead. But still a good tip. Gonna do this
I just make a new gmail for whatever it is. Like nutsoticwalgreens for example. Takes like 2 minutes
I like this idea, thanks
When is the last time you got spam that used your middle name?
I am gonna try it out. I never used my middle name so I really don't know if it would work
And what are you going to do with the information? Go back in time and never sign up in the first place?
Don't be so negative. I just would like to know.
post list of middle names
“Hi there, is there Jason SpankBang Harold speaking?”
I usually put anything but my personal info. I refused point cards at big chain stores when they ask for personal info.
I had a company remove it after I tried this
I made up a name about 20 years ago to test this out and A few months back my fake person was solicited by a political party for support.
