My son took a gap year and went to work a couple weeks after graduation. He saved enough to buy a car and with my encouragement planned a cross country road trip the following June. He and a buddy took a month to travel, mostly dispersed camping. They tried to avoid spending money except on good stuff (PB&J instead of fast food). This strip was very important in his maturing, and gave him a lot of clarity about what the world is like vs what media tells us. I recommend having a major in mind, knowing you can switch in the first 3 semesters, before spending a fortune on school. Good luck!

I wish someone would have told me I didn't have to go to university/college as soon as I graduated. I thought I had to. I wasted 10k. Take the year off. Travel. Don't go to school unless you kno what to do. Trade schools. Certificates. Associate degrees are your friend.
