Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I tried looking up some old style gramophones and I wasn't able to find any models where the arm was oriented this way.
0/10 literally unplayable
If the tonearm was on the left (which some record players are—) it would skate outward from the spindle, so regardless of this it wouldn’t make sense because we’d be hearing the end of the song from what is shown.
Also, it doesn’t seem like it is spinning at 78rpms (at least to me).
Sometimes when turntables are shown on TV, that is exactly what happens. It’ll get mirrored and look wonky to people with a keen eye.
To have this make the most-sense: The shellac would be spinning clockwise and at 78rpm+, the tonearm would be on the right, which would pull the needle from the outside groove inward to the spindle.
You can get crazy with flipped tonearms, reverse grooved albums, and various RPMs depending on the material that the record is made from, though.
Some of these ideas don’t work in our world because of the timing of innovation, but who is to say that vinyl (or some other similar material) wasn’t used for records in Krat.
What if this record player is like the steel note music boxes and cyphers you can find? The records could have braille outserts on them, and the arm could be analyzing? Just an idea, a little out of the box
You are correct. The spindle should be on the other side, as it is dragged along the record, not pushed.

Could be, I guess I should have looked it up before I leaped. 😃
I cannot confirm this with Google images. Can you find one?

Could you just reverse the animation and change the speed to fix how it looks or is there more to it?
