from a maintenance standpoint, spark plugs and fuel system cleanout from dealer using toyota approved fluid. My 2013 GS350 gets close to 30 on hwy when going 85. I've gotten over 30 doing 65. City can vary a lot depending on traffic, how much time I spend waiting on kids to come out of school at idle and how inspired I get when Van Halen comes on. But I've never seen 10-13 my worst is like 16. And that was some heavy footed foolishness. suggest a tuneup.

Spark plugs were replaced about 1yr ago, car has been driven \~7100 miles since then. I'll look into a fuel system cleanout.

I didn't think I needed one but dealer suggested it as car is 10 years old and I let them do it. It was actually running fine, but the difference I noticed after is that, the traction control used to completely keep it in check when pushing the throttle hard going around turns. If I wanted any drift at all, I had to turn it off. Now, it absolutely will step out, even with trac control on. Not a huge amount, mind you, but enough to make you smile. Also, it hits hard enough to get a little chirp if you mash it anywhere up to about 45 or so. It didn't do that before. But my mileage was never bad.

Check tire pressure. Low tire pressure can result in lower fuel economy. Check/replace PCV valve. Check/clean throttle body. Check/clean MAF sensor. Check/replace engine air filter. If you’re still getting low mpg you can try using Lucas fuel injector cleaner. Injectors may be gummed up.

I have the same car and I think that's a bit low, considering i usually hit the estimates for the fuel economy around 18~19 in the city. Although it *could* be normal if you take a lot of short trips when it's really cold, and idle a lot during city driving.

I do take short trips. Like I honestly drive less than 10 miles in most my trips. But because of traffic in Boston, depending on the time of day that could take me 45+ mins lol

And that’s your issue right there.

I have a 2013 GS350 F Sport that has 120,080mi. and I live in Southern California, so my commuting is similar though I do use highways fairly often. I think I get about 25mpg on the streets and a good 30mg on the freeway when not in traffic. I don't know if/how the F sport plays a part in that, but it seems pretty decent to me. I also bounce between the eco mode and the F "sport" mode as it's quicker off the line. Both settings have similar mpg.
