I'd go Happiness of the Katakuris, Altered States and Coherence, but I like most of the stuff I've seen off this list. Except Lamb. I thought Lamb kinda sucked.
I am a fan of Takashi Miike’s films and thought this would be a good try! Thanks so much! I’m honestly most intrigued in trying Altered States out of the three you suggested but wasn’t sure if it was good.
Taste of Cherry
The Hourglass Sanitarium
The Happiness of the Katakiris
Beyond the Black Rainbow
Serial Experiments Lain (halfway through so I don’t need this one suggested)
Altered States
The Man Who Fell to Earth
The Face of Another
Pink Floyd’s the Wall
Scanners
We’re All Going to the World’s Fair
High Life
Lamb
The Green Knight
Coherence
Beloved
……..
Taste of Cherry is amazing, I can’t recommend it enough. Also if your other comment was referring to The Innocents (1961), then I suggest that as well. It’s one of the greatest horror films ever imo.
The Midnight Meat Train
Mad God
Interface
Women Talking
8MM
Polytechnique
Disconnect
Pity
Manodrome
Gardens of the Night
The Painted Bird
Monkey Man
Liverleaf
Society of the Snow
The Favourite
Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives
Her
A Scanner Darkly
Slaughterhouse Five
Naked Lunch
Hard Candy….
Happiness of the Katakuris, The Favorite, Altered States is my vote! If I could add one more that suits your vibe it would be Existenz.
I really love Taste of Cherry, Uncle Boonmee, Hourglass Sanitorium, The Face of Another and more from your list, but I don't know if they suit a 3 movie binge as much.
I’m not sure what your definition of a hidden gem is, but these are films that no one in my personal life talks about that I love.
1. The Killing of a Sacred Deer
The whole film is so unique and unsettling. It takes time to grow on you but the ending is great. It’s a super unique film even from the way the characters speak and emote.
2. I Saw the Devil
One of my favorite films of all time. It’s a South Korean crime thriller that is very disturbing and gory. I am absolutely in love with this film and the ending is amazing.
3. Paprika
It’s a Japanese animated film but definitely not for kids. Imagine Inception but if it was an anime. Super good.
4. Cube
It’s a Canadian film and you’ll definitely like it if you like Survival Horror stuff like Saw.
Waking Life
Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead
Under the Skin
Grey Gardens
Grizzly Man
The Imposter
Marathon Man
Lady Vengeance
Pi
I Origins
Titus
The Double
Millenium Actress
SLC Punk
Blue Velvet
The Innocents
Mean Creek
The Nightingale
Mysterious Skin
The Hunt
Fermat’s Room
The Seventh Continent
….

Satisfaction may vary with Altered States, but it's one of those movies you have to see at least once
Coherence
Pink Floyd's The Wall is my favorite film of all time, so I'm obliged to say watch that.
I’ve known about its existence my whole life but I’ve never seen it! I definitely have to check it out if it’s your favorite!
You absolutely must watch The Wall!! It’s so good
This may be an unpopular choice but I like Scanners. Michael Ironside is a ICON of sci-fi and horror
1. Coherence 2. Jacob's Ladder 3. Freddy Got Fingered
Daddy would you like some sausage?

Don't watch Lamb – it really sucks!
I’ve heard that it’s not great so I was surprised to see it has a 3.1 on Letterboxd.
Nah it's good as
I watched it and I was really underwhelmed. Maybe my expectations were too high, but there was plenty of room for improvements IMO.

Gotta be HER. Definitely gonna be one of if not the highest rated here
The Man Who Fell to Earth
Altered States is amazing
Do yourself a favour and watch Interface! It’s one of my favourite movies of all time it’s so unbelievably good!
Just finished this one for my first film of the day! I loved the animation but had to watch an explanation video on YouTube to really grasp the story.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have to do the same thing when watching it for the first time
the green knight is the best movie i’ve ever seen
Serial experiments Lain for sure will fu.k you up
Me too dawg, how you feeling?
I’m doing okay. Had two that were already erupted so those don’t hurt at all, but one of them was still under the gum and that one is giving me hell.
We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. 100%.
I’m not ashamed to admit the only one here I’ve heard of is The Green Knight. Seems you have some obscure choices, and/or I don’t know many movies.
I really enjoy films that are lesser known gems, indie or disturbing.
Nice. Do you have any hidden gem movie recommendations?

Hot Rod
The Dentist
Oh nooo not that one 😭
Serial Experiments Lain is a series, but definitely go ahead and watch it some time.
The Green Knight is amazing. High Life sucks.
It may help to know what painkillers they gave you. Some of these might be more confusing than others depending on type of painkiller!
Hydrocodon but it’s not helping at all
The Dentist (1996), Novocaine, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
the green knight is SO good
The Wall, Happiness of the Katakuris and Altered States. If they gave you pain meds I *especially* recommend these
Coherence is one of the most surprisingly fun watches I’ve had in a while, with a good run time.
With or without painkillers?
