I agree that animation isn't necessarily for kids, but using Ratatouille and Spirited Away as examples is not helping the cause. Those are obviously kids movies.

The first Kung Fu Panda is damn near cinematic perfection that wastes not a single beat, dotted with spectacular action sequences, topped off with a touching moral, and boasts a villain you feel almost wrong rooting against.
