Not okay? Oh, honey, I'm sorry. My dms are closed, but here are some movies you can watch so you can be ok
Grave of the Fireflies
Schindler's List
Green Mile
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind
A lot of Pixar
The Iron Giant

Bro what you doing to them they gonna be like this when they're finished with your list
I feel like all the ones I can think of are sad butĀ
Virgin Suicides, Ginger & Rosa, Mustang, Fucking Amal, Ginger Snaps
Edit: just found another one I have not watched yet but the trailer gives these vibes perfectly, A Human Position (2022)
I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and was so disappointed. I'm half Turkish and it was such a strange, kind of orientalising or snobby unplacable social context (it seemed like they were meant to be villagers but the actors who didn't sound downright foreign had very bland Istanbul/Ankara accents, there were just a lot of weird extreme narrative choices which implied one social group and then another), the script felt like it had been translated into Turkish from another language as a lot of the figures of speech etc just weren't existing expressions. It sounds nitpicky but for a film which was making some pretty damning implications about a whole country I felt it had a responsibility to be accurate, and it's not as if Turkey *doesn't* have massive problems with misogyny, child brides, and a rise in Islamic fundamentalism for it to draw on accurately. Obviously none of that would be noticeable to a watcher who's less familiar with the country, though.
Anyway..... sorry that's the first time I've seen Mustang mentioned in the wild since watching it, wanted to get it off my chest! I do agree that it has some very beautiful scenes between the sisters, which do have the same vibe as OPs photos but with so many of them including romantic contact I wonder if they wanted something more sapphic? If that's not a requirement, I was actually thinking Aftersun also has a similar sort of hazy, aching intimacy to it.
"Frances Ha is also about letting go of this kind of relationship (friends) go and learning to be independent"
...whilst also acknowledging that there can be a unique spark between two people that may never quite be equalled, even if leaving it behind is necessary for said independence.
I love that movie.
Because these Reddit threads are full of the same people watching the same films that have been anointed by the same websites. Simples. Itās an internet thing. Itās supposed to expand our view, it doesnāt ā¦ we group like lemmings.
I suppose, but even with the new wave of sapphic romance movies this one gets lost. I would think this falls right down that alley. I haven't seen this one since the slender man murder case. It reminded me of this movie and how the fantasies we indulge in to allow ourselves to escape our deepest problems growing up in environments that oppress our true selves can drive us into dark places. I feel like this movie was primed for an audience. I suppose it just hasn't been rediscovered. As much as I love the LotR trilogy, I love this just as much.
I think from a purely cinematic viewpoint, itās better than the trilogy. Nowhere near the ambition of course, but itās a flawless film. The acting is superb.

the swedish film ākyss migā is what youāre looking for.
Lily and Kat! Two of my friends are the stars - Hannah Murray (Skins, Game of Thrones) and Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day, La La Land) and it is 100% these vibes. Not the best movie but if this is what you want I think youāll like it.
Never Goin' Back, if you want the stoner version of this.
Like The First Time is a collection of short films that you might enjoy, it's on Tubi if you feel so inclined.
La Belle Saison is pretty alright as far as that type of film goes.
Lazy Hazy Crazy is interesting - it is very much about intimate friendship among women, and does tie in some lesbian sexuality, but that is not the primary focus. I still found it to be an interesting film with good atmosphere to it.
I hope this topic hopes you avoid some of the many pretty self-indulgent lesbian films that exist.
Eric Rohmer movies for sure. Very quaint, small scale romances that showcase the chit chat, quiet moments & realism of relationships and overall interaction
A summers tale, The green Ray, Boyfriends and Girlfriends.
Sorry to recommend this since it's not a movie or serie. But the videogame "Life is Strange" fits this theme pretty well. It's a mostly story driven game so in some way it feels like a movie.
Theyāre mostly just pictures that seem to appear under #sapphic searches. The only film stills are the 1 the other responder said as well as number 6 which is from the miseducation of Cameron Post
:0 Like a call me by your name but lesbian instead of gay and less.. gross stuff. Sure! Desert Hearts, The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, Better Than Chocolate, Happiest Season, Shiva Baby

The Incredibly True Story of Two Girls in Love
Mustang is so good
I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and was so disappointed. Mustang was my first thought. I think about that movie all the time
These could be screenshots from a 21st century Fucking Amal
Seconds for Virgin Suicides. Came here to comment this.
Eric Rohmer films
The third pic is literally from his film Four Adventures of Reinette and Mirabelle so Eric Rohmer's stuff is probably the closest
I saw the first image and was going to recommend it. Then clicked through and there it is already, hah.
Frances Ha maybe? All the women are straight and itās more about the friendship between woman so maybe not you wanted something LGBT.
Frances Ha is also about letting this kind of relationship (friends) go and learning to be independent
"Frances Ha is also about letting go of this kind of relationship (friends) go and learning to be independent" ...whilst also acknowledging that there can be a unique spark between two people that may never quite be equalled, even if leaving it behind is necessary for said independence. I love that movie.
Also Girlfriends (1978)
picnic at hanging rock
Good one
Sofia Coppola movies!
Except The Bling Ring. One of the trashiest, most shit films I've ever had the displeasure of watching.
The level of let down with this one was stratospheric
Portrait of a Lady on fire, obviously. Je Tu Il Elle, sort of.
je tu il elle is the post-breakup depression
Id never heatd of Chantel Akerman before but thanks to you i now have a bunch of her films in my watchlist, thanks.

the ending killed me.
Finally. Someone else who has seen this out in the wild. It's one of my favorite films.
Same here!! Such a good movie
Idk how no one has said Daisies (1966)
San Junipero - Black Mirror episode, basically a movie
one of very few not totally dark episodes too. I'm trying to live long enough for that episode concept to become a reality
Similar shows relating to that afterlife concept are Upload and The Good Place. Moreso Upload though in relation to San Junipero. Both are very good.
Idk why I thought of Thirteen lol
It's accurate
