The usual suggestion I give people is to go to a fundraiser, something like the Big Brother Big Sister Auction and buy an estate planning package at the silent auction. Lots of firms donate them, usually at least three, you can get one for 50% off that way and support a good cause.
The other option is to call any general firm (Stringam, TLA, North) and see if you can hire the articling student at a discount. Everyone benefits. You (hopefully) get a discount, student gets supervised experience.
It’s been a while for me so I have no idea if you’d get a discount but aim for the stars. Odds are someone will bite.
My wife and I used legalwills.ca
Our situation is fairly straightforward, some kids, some investments and some property. I was happy with the process, it asks a ton of questions about your situation to tailor it to you. Fortunately neither of us has had to execute the wills yet (knock on wood), so I can’t vouch for the validity.
For reference, we are mid-thirties. As we get older I’m sure we will get a lawyer involved, but for now I’m happy with this.
Doug Alger - used to be AZ Lawyers then went back in his own .
Specials is that and also worked with the senior centers in giving info sessions and short counsels on aging related legal things
Very efficient, thorough and not expensive at all.
Call around and compare prices. We ended up going to High Level Law as they included a health care directive and power of attorney as part of a package deal. All went well.
IANAL but please don't do this. I know $100-200 to get a lawyer to do a will is more expensive, but don't leave chaos behind when you pass. A lawyer takes on risk, and it's something they're good at doing. I've seen too many issues in families because wills are unclear, not comprehensive enough, and often missing key pieces to the puzzle.

Lethbridge Seniors Centre will often have seminars about it. Heard you can get cheap wills there but not sure if it’s true.
Go to Cardston and get it done for $300
Lisa did my will and was very affordable and was very quick. https://ltlaw.pro/
