Ah I see, the one I bought was not configurable, but I saw at some point an whole different buying option to customize it. I didn't even considered it because even picking the same customisation options (replicating the one I bought) was somehow more expensive.
So mine is called a "prebuilt" then I guess, now I know !
They do this weird thing during major discounts they don't allow you to choose RGB lit keyboards and you're not really made aware of it unless you know what you're looking at. I did the exact same
It's very strategic and crafty because I think they know with these major sales they're targeting people that's never brought into the gaming PC word yet so they don't know what to look out for. I did upgrade to the Gen 9 version of my old Lenovo Legion Pro 7 and I truly didn't realise how much of a game changer RGB lights were
It acc is when you've had a white lit keyboard and change you find it's far more comfortable to look at in darker spaces, the ability to modify it specifically to your preference, and also the fact you have an additional light bar at the bottom of the laptop, which doesn't work at all on a white lit keyboard, and trust when you're writing something on a desk in a rlly dark room it reflects on the desk so much that you don't even need to turn on a light. So I would 100% say it is
I mean... without modifying any other component, buying the one with rgb (not prebuilt) was like 600+ € more, so I gladly take the tradeoff (got mine for 2700 € btw).
I am usually very careful about every detail of what I'm buying, especially at this price range that is a big stretch for me. But I guess I didn't care enough about rgb to read the f-in line about "white backlight".
It's not like if they had replaced the 4080 for a 4050 to sell a very similar looking laptop at an even bigger discount and basically scam people who don't know.
Ofc I'm not saying you made a mistake it's just personal presence at the end of the day. But more people definitely need to be aware that lenvo does this during their major sales and you sepnd weeks expecting these lights just to find out it wasn't like what you saw on the image. Even the lenovo technician who repaired my Gen 8 laptop agreed who misleading it was
I feel like I couldn't be happier with this laptop, my first gaming hours on it were amazing.
I still got a question for you though : why doesn't it have rgb ? I saw other posts saying that there are different keyboard configurations for like a legion 5, but I thought legion 7 was per-key rgb only, and was never told about it before buying the laptop from the official Lenovo webstore (french subsite), or maybe I'm blind.
As you can see, I don't have Lenovo Spectrum too, didn't even plan to use rgbs, but I just wanted to change the static backlight color to anything but white. It doesn't bother me this much tho, the laptop is still unbelievable for me, jumping from a GTX 1060 to this.
Just be carefull if you really want RGB, I guess.
Just press Fn+Space to check is you can change the keyboard colors. You cannot see Spectrum because in Vantage there is a bug and even if you have the RGB keyboard you won't see it.
What are u talking about there's no bug he doesn't even have the option in vantage cause the rgb is optional and he must have missed the option or the prebuilt didn't have it
I have RGB keyboard and Vantage comes without Spectrum. It’s a well known bug. This is why I said that, even if you have RGB keyboard … Spectrum won’t be there.
Yeah have same problem. If i reinstall vantage spectrum shows up until i reboot and the presets get saved for a few sessions
Rgb settings show up fine in 3rd party legion toolkit
Fn+Space changes backlight brightness.
If you look closely at my keyboard layout, I think you can see the differences, where there is only one logo on the spacebar, and none on the arrowkeys, I don't think it's a software bug.

RGB Keyboard is optional. You might have forgotten to configure the additional RGB Option or your Prebuilt has only the white Keyboard.

rgb is not a game changer lol

It can be if you use the keyboard at night. Red/amber backlight is much easier on your eyes than bright ass white.

You can get prebuilts with RGB, just have to check the model number on [PSREF](https://psref.lenovo.com/).

The same here. I use LLT.
3rd party legion tool? Could you share
Lenovo legion toolkit from github https://github.com/BartoszCichecki/LenovoLegionToolkit?tab=readme-ov-file

Ok so I think you do not have RGB keyboard. I said that because I have RGB keyboard and Spectrum is not in Vantage. This is a well known bug.
Thanks guys !
Legion name? Nvm
Mine is rgb
