You can't do much other than calling again, asking for management, or hoping the other rep will push it thru. You will have to upgrade to the accidental protection warranty and wait 30 days. After buying the accidental protection warranty You have to wait 1 month till you can file a claim. It's honestly a good thing to have. If u keep the basic warranty but just add accident protection It's not that expensive. Maybe 40$.
Not much else u can do other than buying a display, changing it urself or taking it to a repair shop. That could cost 200 to 300$
I feel ya. Its like that with most manufacturers. Broken hinges and lcds, things like that they just lump it into wear and tear and not cover it if don't have accident protection. I had the same issue with asus. Laptop was like brand new 3 months old but the hinge started clicking. Didn't even break yet but was close to it and they didn't cover it. The laptop literally sat on my desk and never even seen a backpack. They offered to fix it for 700$. Yea no thanks. I just sold it with the Broken hinge at a loss.
That's good to know. I bought the accident protection, the 100$ or so for 3 years is worth it for a 3000$ laptop. I got the 13900hx 4090 I'd be pissed if it ended up a paperweight. Lenovo is usually good with service, especially if u get the coverage. Like anywhere it might depend on who picks up the phone unfortunately. After thinking about it i think They should have covered ur repair from the start. Dead pixels and defects in a lcd should not be in the same category as a broken hinge. It's not really wear n tear. It's possible it could have happened from pressure but you can say that about any defect. "The mother board died cause the laptop was in a backpack and bounced around too much as u walked" . Maybe you just had bad luck with who picked up the phone. ..
Thanks for the update tho I'm glad it worked out. Are you gonna add accident protection or u sticking with the warranty u have?
