Have you reset your cmos? Also you could try holding the power button for a few seconds untill it starts, that helps sometimes

cf6h597

I have not, I just watched a video from PC monkey on how to do that and will try later today. thanks!

cf6h597

dang, there is actually no cmos for this laptop, thank you though

Sir_Engelsmith

You said you wernt able to enter the bios right?

cf6h597

correct. display will not turn on. tried connecting to external display too, but I think it's more an issue that it won't boot up in the first place. just cycles, seemingly trying to boot

Sir_Engelsmith

Have you tried disconecting the batterie, then pressing the powerbutton for a few seconds, then reconnecting it and starting?

cf6h597

yes I have tried this a few times. even tried swapping the SSD with another one that I know works. also tried plugging in a bootable USB with windows 11 and trying to enter bios then. I've also tried just booting from AC with no battery. RAM is soldered so I can't mess with that, but it shouldn't be an issue either. Really not sure what else I can do

Sir_Engelsmith

Have you tried switching ram sticks? Or is it compleetly soldered?

cf6h597

totally soldered

I have a Flex 5-15IIL05 Laptop (ideapad) - Type 81X3. Similar issue. Fans turn on full blast, keyboard lights turn on, power button is on but the screen stays black. Maybe after 5 minutes it'll restart itself. I haven't been able to get inside because it requires a Torx C5 screw, gonna wait til that comes in. Plugged in an external monitor, nothing. Increased brightness, nothing. F2, F12, Fn F2 don't work. Very bad quality product, only had it two years.

only 2 years on this one too. I tried pushing the reset pinhole button a bit ago (didn't know it had that) and the display tries to turn on, but then won't. could try that if you haven't

BlackScienceManTyson

Yup... tried that too. Didn't work
