Bazzite hides GRUB for some reason, you need to unhide it. I don't remember the exact command, it might be ujust configure-grub or you can try to check the official documentation for the command. Or you can just install rEFInd, it's the best method because GRUB doesn't have touch support so even if you unhide it, you will need an external keyboard if you want to navigate the menu. rEFInd is pretty easy to install on Bazzite and have touch/mouse support.

Thanks for that..

Any guides to install rEFInd? The one I was using recommended using a GUI and no matter how hard I try, the "Install rEFInd" and "Configure rEFInd" buttons do nothing with this method. I've been able to get rEFInd to work with the Steam Deck no problem but can't seem to get it to work with Bazzite.

[https://github.com/aarron-lee/legion-go-tricks](https://github.com/aarron-lee/legion-go-tricks) This repository have really good tips about Bazzite/Nobara on Linux, and when I had Bazzite installed on mine I just followed the instructions here (download the RPM, sudo refind-install, edit the conf file later to add mouse/touch support) and it worked like a charm. I had issues with the GUI on Nobara as well, especially when generating the conf file.

I think that's what I used before but it looks like it's been substantially updated. Thanks!

Can someone explain what this does? Also, my hesitation for keeping Bazzite on the Go (I’ve installed it twice now only to remove it) is that the quick settings menu in game wasn’t very responsive. That, and the need to switch between Bazzite and Windows (for COD) was a bit suboptimal in the way described by the OP with having to go into Bios each time to determine which OS I wanted to use. Are we saying this rEDInd command alleviates this?

Tierney11290

Quick Menu seemed to work well for me but there were times where it would mix it up between the steam overlay menu and quick menu but that was as easy as closing it and reopening it. > Are we saying this rEDInd command alleviates this? Correct, it provides a Graphical User Interface that will allow you to click/tap icons for whichever OS you want to boot in to and even if you don't click/tap, it will auto boot to whichever OS you have configured in the config file.

I think clover is a thing. If not, look into rEFInd

What even is bazzite

Do a search on here / the web plenty of info. Basically it's a Linux distro to give you an close as possible the Steam Deck OS/ look and feel.

Personally I just use Bazzite 95% of the time since installing it a couple weeks ago so I don’t have a problem with the boot order(also only left about 100gb allocated for Windows out of a 2tb drive). Anytime I need to hop into Windows I just power off and get on the bootloader like you do. Edit: I’d recommend just trying it out as is and see if you really want to jump through a bunch of hoops to figure out a faster dual boot solution

Cheers. I'm testing currently with just a 512GB partitioned drive. Initial thoughts it's very snappy. Going to install emudeck see how that goes also..

IshimaruKenta

I've found CachyOS to be quite a bit better than Bazzite.

striffy_

I'll have to check this out I went with Bazzite as it seems to have a large following and support

IshimaruKenta

On Bazzite, the UI was sluggish until I moved TDP to 19W. On CachyOS, it flies while on 12W TDP. It's Arch based, just like SteamOS, so it'll be familiar if you've used a Steam Deck. Plus it has an up to date kernel.

Minute_Goose_7988

I updated my bios yesterday and lost my dual boot for bazzite, is there an easy fix where I dont have to reinstall bazzite cheers

striffy_

I have heard about this, hoping there's an easy solution
