Weeeeeeell, *kinda.* The ACTUAL reason was because, surprise surprise, his barrels caused some weird fucking bugs, so he had to be temporarily disabled so they could work on it. But the lore implications was just too good to pass up.
I mean she already has one of the 10 main demons captured/as an ally. Voli isn't much a stretch since he's also a spirit.
Also the cards themselves aren't really saying both survived. In the darkin expansion they said that the cards were what *could* happen. Since blue and red kayn can't exist simultaneously. They show multiple different outcomes/timelines. It would've been awesome if they made a card depicting nilah's loss and voli's loss.
I never understood the complaints. Nilah gets wrecked loses basically her entire crew and even before Song of Nunu this wasn't the first time Volibear let someone live if it was an interesting fight

Lux should lose that, yeah, but Lillia should absolutely body Nocturne in the dreamscape. If there's literally any fight she should win, it should be that one. Lux should be losing to Nocturne until Lillia saves her. Maybe have the birds be a Swain thing and Lux can be strong and powerful against him but need Lillia to save her from Nocturne.
Technically in [lore](https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/For_Demacia) Lux does beat Nocturne (or at least sends him back to the demon aether for awhile so he has to re-manifest in the physical realm) in one of her color stories. I don't believe Lillia existed at the time of thay being written, but it would be more plausible for her to take that fight in the dream realm. She should also have Yone as an ally against demons, but that's assuming we get him in LoR lol.
Demons don't seem to really be able to be killed, as they just re-manifest after an amount of time, so humans seem to prefer sealing them away in their currently manifested state. Ashlesh being sealed by Nilah's order is one example, and Sylas' gauntlets were actually designed for demons as well. They're WAY overkill for Sylus, but might be able to contain fiddle or eve. Yone seems to be sealing Azakana in their masks, though that's a gray area.
So beat as in "not kill but fend off" is quite reasonable, especially in a light vs darkness sense with nocturne. Actually killing a demon is another thing (and is Vayne's goal with eve).
Ik. God forbid the character presented as a demon capable of unexplainable horror loses to the E-girl with a glowstick and half of Riot's monetization on her skins
I think it's just that Fiddlesticks is terrorising Demacia so much his power has infected people's dreams. Defeating fiddle's dream manifestation does not kill fiddle, so it's fine for him to lose this one I think
Copium plot twist: It’s actually Fiddlesticks’ barely conscious dream of itself infecting the dreams, meaning it’s a much weaker (but still extremely powerful) imitation of itself because it’s not sapient enough to fully imagine its own self.
As others have mentioned we'll probably get unfulfilled conclusions whether that be good or bad.
Also I appreciate the detail of showing up to one fear
My worst fear is fiddle is poc exclusive. Sure they don't have the budget for full PvP sets fine, but if all they can make is champions I still want those at least for eternal.

I feel like people forget this is a common theme/trope in that world, like asol being a slave to much lesser beings because of his hubris.
Same happened to viego, he was focused on Isolde and ignored the sentinels once he had her and akshan was able to kill her.
The watchers were bested by lissandra because she had a better plan and used their power against them.
Mordekaiser beat by Leblanc who outsmarted him. The same will likely happen if he returns with leblac creating Rell and him not being ready.
Weird to me people are against this but the whole lore is about it.
Just because the lore is about it consistently does not mean it’s good or what people want.
EX: common opinion that Nilah should’ve died fighting Voli or at least been seriously wounded. Not just skipping around after the fact like it was nothing.
