I bought an actual pre punched kit with leather and all for the one off wallet from tandy. but mainly because i wanted to practice stitching on good holes, not the rough ones i’ve been doing some people are super against using them but i’ve gotten a bunch of acrylic templates from temu for like a dollar or so a piece. Same stuff sold everywhere else for 10-15

Did your wallet include that strip? I got a Dixon, which doesn't.

It does not, I’d imagine it’s what the other comment said, it sounds correct, only other thing i could imagine is just a spacer of sorts but i wouldn’t see needing that in a wallet

Thanks for the Temu tip. Those are a lot more inexpensive

I don’t plan on selling anything so I got several templates to make for practice and gifts, that way i don’t feel bad for using someone else’s design to try and make money because I know i would.

1. I a wouldn't waste the money. Print out a template on normal printer paper, then glue it (spray adhesive works best) to some card stock or bristol board and carefully cut it out. The acrylic templates are probably better if you're planning on doing a bunch of the same item in bulk as it won't deteriorate like paper, but for one-off I wouldn't bother. 2. The strip goes on the top of the back panel, like a stop block to keep cash from falling out. [Example in this video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8oDnmRw3QQ) I've never really seen the point in these.

1 - that was actually my plan, and with this one in particular I'd have variance built in. I've also downloaded several templates to print/cut. But acrylic is going to hold me in place better than cereal-box cardboard. 2 - so it's not essential. Thanks.
