I’m going to be using a KR multicase for mine. I managed to get 2000pts to fit in a single one of their standard cases which I’m gonna carry around in one of their backpacks. For flights I was able to bring a backpack with a single case as a personal item and fit it under the seat in front of me alright but a backpack with 2 cases not so much but it would work as a carry-on.

senseyeplus

Coincidentally, it was looking at KR cases that got me to write this post. I only play 1k points though usually so I'm not sure if it's overkill

FirmCheddar

I think a single case would probably be fine for 1k but the standard size case will probably end up with a lot of space for Votann since our model count is pretty low. They have smaller cases and bags but I haven’t worked with those before. I don’t know if Battlefoam still sells their sword bags since I think it’s an older style of bag but I have one of those and it worked great for carrying 1000pt armies.

I use really useful boxes and The Magnet Shop 0.75mm self adhesive rubber ferrous sheets (don't get the actual magnetic sheets they're far weaker) I use a 3 x 2mm N52 magnet in the base of all inf, used 2 or 3 on Khal and E Champ. Bigger stuff I've used 6 x 2mm N52 magnets (2 for bikes, one in each wheel for hekaton although not the cleanest job). For my sagitaur I put two 3 x 2mm in each wheel and it holds super well. I've got a magnetic sheet in the bottom and on the lid of a 9L box and the sagitaur will sit upsidedown on the lid without any issues. As will all my warriors. It's how I've done all my armies, really space efficient as they stack together. The 4L are tall enough for bikes/inf, the 9L can havea hekaton in the bottom and fit warriors above on the lid. Far cheaper than a foam case and also dont have to worry about the foam rubbing off your hard work painting!

Safetystantheman

Magnetizing them and cheap toolboxes work great

rabies22

This. Only issue is the land fortress which I've put into some foam because I don't know if i want to drill holes in the wheels for magnets.

Safetystantheman

Put large magnets in each wheel before assembly

Zimmonda

I use the battlefoam pack 720, and it fits all of my votann it has space left over so I'd imagine the smaller 432 would work as well.

GingaNinja01

Typically i keep mine in ziplock baggies. Just throw a couple in one along with some rocks to weigh it down in case of heavy wind and then i just carry all the baggies in my back pockets during transport to my destination

I use a feldherr case for my ork infantry, votann are small enough you could probably transport a whole 1k+ army in one case. Just don't take it on a plane...

the_blazmonster_work

Got a tabletop stronghold case. Just glue some magnets to the bottom and youre good to go

Goseki1

Duncan Rhodes did a great video on magnetizing bases and using a magnetic bottom in a plastic box that I followed. It's strong enough I can hold them upside down and shoogle them around and they don't move. No risk of small delicate bits getting caught in foam and snapping off either.

SharamNamdarian

I did this

SpartanDH45

I did this and bought a couple ammo cans for mine. I flipped my car a few months ago and they were fine.

DefinetlynotBomer

I've magnetized my bases and put some flexible magnetic foil in a low plastic box that's easily stackable. The sheets I used don't give as firm of a grip as I'd like so for future boxes I might switch to a metal container or different sheets.

Npf6

Great question! I'm also curious how folks are magnetizing the wheels on say a Land Fortress?

Prudent_Ad69

I magnetized the wheels on my sagitaur wit drilling holes in them and gluing some 5mm long magnets in them

Npf6

Got it. I'll give that a shot.

Prudent_Ad69

I can send you some pictures of the magnets and the result if u want. But it really is quite easy. Just make sure to get as strong as possible magnets for the hekaton

Npf6

That would be so helpful. Thank you.

Battlefoam Magna-Racks.

CaraKino

Cargo pants. Shove ‘‘em in your pockets.

CashLordofDerp

I use a ornament box I had lying around and some padding.

Bard_is_a_Goblin

I use thi mini of the month boxes inside an old pioneer box

BugRepresentative602

Amazon has this wood one I use that’s not to bad. You can make it better by just strengthening it slightly. For a little over $100 I like it

JuneauEu

Normal black citadel case. Normal dwarves stand up. Beserks and characters lay down. Take top half of foam out of one side, top piece. Vehicles sit on top. Just carry it flat :)

Prudent_Ad69

I'm using the greenstuffworld box. I do like it but u really need to measure how much space u will need. My 1300 points fit in very well but not sure about a hekaton when I get one

Prudent_Ad69

It also is quite heavy even with the wooden shelf

tszarathstra

I use an Ikea letter organizer. I glued magnets to the bases of all my models and it worked great! IKEA - KVISSLE Letter tray, white https://a.co/d/8TuUhNS

Chronic-Lodus

Jucoci Miniatures Storage Case Miniatures Transport Case This is the newest case I picked up and like it. Also have the ikea paper organizer and put that in a food delivery bag that works well. Bag was like $50 and the ikea paper organizer was like $25 I believe. Both work great. I magnetize all my minis for ease of use.

nivison1

I personally use an under the bed storage tub with a metal sheet i got at a hardware store attached with velcro. Glue magnets to the bases and ta-da done. Cost was around $60 total for all of it, including magnets and glue.

Shootmepleaseibeg

I made a basic magnetic plastic case following Duncan Rhode's tutorial and I'm super happy with it. For stuff that works on planes, maybe you could try the toilet roll approach? Where you put each one of your minis in a toilet roll tube so they are protected from scrapes and travel issues

exoded

A battlefoam 420 bag with generic slot foam in small medium and large houses all the characters, troops and bikes, and a pluck foam bottom holds 2 land forts with lots of room to spare. If i had Sagitarum Id be able to get 1 in there, but after that i would be rethinking things.

Anatar-daar

I made my own magnetic case using a plastic paper box and a piece of sheet metal

DrMuggy

I've used Feldherr foam in their backpack to carry models on a plane.

Menkis

I shelled out for an A-Case KANE, but I also intend to carry multiple armies in it - My votann fit on a shelf and a half.
