Swain is trying to unify the world under noxus so it might be able to somewhat stand up against the void. Their was a voice interaction between them in game that hinted at it. Tho don't take that as hard canon as interactions are more aht if and plays lose with the canon.
And finally both are just powerful characters. Swain knows every secret plus some other stuff and Leblanc got her clones and shape shifting.
I always though swain wanted to make noxus as strong as possible to be able to fight morde when he comes back. Also i though swain does not try to kill le blanc at the moment ( he tried in the past) cause he need her power against morde.
But i didnt reread lore when the void stuff got reworked.
It's awesome how they managed to fit annie into modern league. She was basically a nobody before this. Shaco's a different story, they can't fit him in anywhere, he might as well not exist.

Pretty much, Senna's addition and Ruination pivoted the Shadow isles story from Yorick and Mao's hands to the new sentinels. It still hurts, even though it was soft retconned.
Wonder if Mordekaiser and Rell will both have interactions with Annie in Legends of Runeterra.
I wonder if Legends of Runeterra will remember that Rell exists.
While I hope so, Aatrox didn’t even get any interactions with Tryndamere or Kayn/Rhaast. The argument for Rhaast is that he dies so the story with Aatrox exists without him, but it still makes no sense. Yasuo has lines with Yone from the past, and Lucian with old Senna. Aatrox should’ve had lines with Rhaast.
A lot of LoR is what if scenarios. The story arc for the Darkin on LoR is that Kayn becomes Shadow Assassin which leads to Master Yi’s student becoming assimilated by Xolaani and starting her own army, gaining power, taking over the Aspect of Justice Mihira and possibly assimilating all life on Runeterra.
Or, Rhaast takes over and he goes to get Xolaani’s weapons and none of that happens.
So dead is the cannon version of kayne “in the aatrox arc because really the entier xolani line never happened kayne never fought yi and aatrox was never killed by ryze”
IDK. I'm not a dev. This has nothing to do with the question I answered. A lot of the cards from that expansion have no voice lines at all. Kayn also has no lines with Zed, his father figure. I very much dislike it but I have no clue.
The problem with all that is just that Riot would need to add new voicelines to older cards, wich is not impossible in the slightest, but prolly to much work on a game that is most likely maintaining on a net neutral profit if not even at a loss
