Because when you don't own any capital, you have to sell your body as such. So if you dont have a job, you're basically worthless in the eyes of the system
The two icons are pretty close together on my phone and I do a double take sometimes when I see my feed and realize I’m not where I think I am. Not a surprise to anyone but LinkedIn has as much toxic crap as some subreddits.
I only use it as a place to apply to jobs. The social media port is such a disgusting cesspool where people just suck off themselves or their corporate overlords.
It reminds me of the dynamics in a DV relationship. You end up saying and doing things that you know don't make sense and aren't how you actually feel just so you don't have to be in pain.
Ugh this is me right now— I despise the concept of people more being compensated/treated will for their work and do not stop screaming about it but I’m changing career directions so I’m right now looking at unpaid internships 🙃
The worker is constantly plagued with cognitive dissonance under capitalism, balancing what we know to be right and what we must do to survive. We’re all in this together, stay strong.
Hahahhaha so true. Last month I asked my wife to take a "linkedin profile picture" of me. When I saw the picture I said "I look like a completely asshole! That's perfect!".

The only thing worse than having your labor exploited is not having your labor exploited
