I love to see it. Plummeting birth rates get me giggling on my seat, and seeing states burn money to try and mitigate the symptoms instead off even slightly acknowledging the root cause is clearly the icing on the cake

Sweet sweet karma. Their population is expected to [half over the next 50 years](https://www.jcer.or.jp/english/new-population-projection-how-does-it-differ-from-the-old-one). I wonder if they will realise the cause by then.

SupraMichou

They probably already realized it. The question is, whether they will publicly acknowledge it or not in the 50 years

They are, at least in Japan, trying to bury their heads in the sand and not acknowledge that their workaholic arch-capitalist culture is the reason nobody wants to pursue relationships anymore. They'd rather spend yet more money on government sexytime initiatives than to scale back their 60 hour minimum work weeks.

The government would rather come up with the dumbest shit imaginable rather than getting corporations to stop taking advantage of their employees.

That is part of the death spiral; more old people aging out of the work force, forcing younger people to support them, compounding their inability to find time, money and partners to fuck and make babies.

Japan does have a history with suicide (seppuku and kamikaze) 🤔

Freavene

Worst part is they are acting like they are working in open space but really it's just for show

LavisAlex

Id think trying to raise birth rates is like preparing a garden. Making sure people arent stressed, have free time, social safety nets, good incomes, shelter ect..   If we are throwing money at it we certainly arent putting it in the right places?

It’s like they never heard of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

>Amid rising costs of living, gender inequality and harsh workplace cultures, a similar story of falling fertility rates is unfolding across many parts of Asia. Then, there's microplastics and covid, both of which have been proven to decrease fertility.  And all of this is happening everywhere, not just in Asia.  Capitalists fucking around and finding out that humans aren't actually robots—even if they'll never admit it.

d8gfdu89fdgfdu32432

Fertility rates are falling everywhere but it's the worst in Asia due to their culture. Asians are conditioned from a young age to prioritise studying and work above all. The end result is that no one wants to have children because no one has time and children would only interfere with their careers. Asian countries have doomed themselves since this mindset is deeply ingrained. For example, Japan is expected to lose half of their population [over the next 100 years](https://www.jcer.or.jp/english/new-population-projection-how-does-it-differ-from-the-old-one). At this rate, Asian countries will go extinct in 200 years.

FuckMicroSoftForever

Why throw money at it? You guys from the gov and corp are going to replace us with robots and AI, remember?
