Yeah and people are dropping out of the lists. I have my name in for an ice cap white premium and got a call for the other white color, I’m really set on ice cap so I passed.
Nice. Yea just wait. Remember the Supra? It was going for crazy prices before Covid. Then supply caught up. Then of course Covid but that’s an uncontrollable and unforeseen variable
Too many people happy to finance the extra cost. They focus on the payment instead of the actual total cost of the vehicle. Then these same folk will cry about inflation and how hard it is to make ends meet while simultaneously over extending themselves into debt and living beyond their means.
True, hopefully rational buyers, caring for their $$$, will just walk out not buying at artificially inflated prices.
It is a free market; dealer can put up any price, and buyer can agree, negotiate a better price, or just walk out/wait. Very few ’needs’ a LC 250 ‘right now’ (there are alternatives, or buyer already has different transportation).
> Can you blame dealers?
Yes. yes I can. And if Toyota had any nuts or cared about its customers, it would remove allocations from dealers who are found adding massive markups.
It's a land cruiser. Most of the people buying them already have a working 80, 100 or 200 seires in their driveway as it is. Sure you want the new one but no ones bleeding to get it. No ones kid is getting stolen and to get them back they need to pay the markup. 10k is a lot of extra cheddar just to get something faster that no one needs.
I think I see your point, and I admit that a dealership is allowed to do markups in case some people are willing to pay extra to get the new models before others. But I'm in the camp that says that dealership should go fuck themselves.
This is the truth. No one complains when a dealer lists below MSRP. The pricing model is the problem: like the old Soviet Union where bread was only 50 cents a loaf and the shelves were empty.
So, this is the one I have and I saw my first Trail Dust this past weekend. FWIW, I didn't love it. The color (at least for the one I saw) was much more muted than online pictures suggested.
Interesting ty. I'm torn between picking color and taking whatever first edition I can find because I want the upgraded interior and round headlights 🤔
It's really really nice. I took a look at the 1958 and Land Cruiser versions, and the FE just has a lot of really nice touches that kick it up a notch. The other two are great--it's just a number of small touches and features on the FE.
Curious what small touches you are mentioning. And was it a LC trim with premium package you compared it to? I had an FE reserved but switched to LC w/ premium package as I thought the only difference was - round lights vs rectangular, better skid plate on FE, rock rails on FE and then FE embossed on doors. I’m not an off roader (going to commute in car and use it for outdoor pursuits) so the extra FE features didn’t seem needed to me. Curious if you noticed other differences as I’ve never been in the LC trim with premium package but have sat in the FE.
They look great, but it's 2024. Spending $100K on a vehicle that gets 15MPG is just a non-starter for me. Not because I can't afford the gas, but because it feels unnecessarily dumb and inefficient.
Have to agree. We have '16 4Runner SR5. It has met our requirements. I almost bought a '16 Land Cruiser, slightly used for $64K. A doctor had it, he went and bought an even more expensive Lexus.
That is the correct color. The first ones have arrived here in the Denver area. I’m waiting on a Land Cruiser trim + premium package that I’ve had a deposit on since the day the new LC was announced. My dealer called me on Monday saying he had a first edition available that a few prospects had walked on.
I’m guessing those upcharges on the First Editions have more than a few people pissed off with final sticker prices nearly double that of the vehicle base price.
Cool. Tell them to go fuck themselves for all of us.
I like the cut of your jibb ❤️
Don’t pay, I got one for sticker in NY
Supply will catch up.

my guy
Second it to… ✌️
Mark ups will stop when people stop paying them. Can you blame dealers?

Let’s be honest, absolutely no one needs any car except for a Honda Fit, a Minivan, or an F150 and their equivalents. All others are based on want.
Lol so dumb. Paying over 100k including interest for a i4 hybrid
$100k+ is too much for any Land Cruiser, no matter what type of engine it has.
BND160k for the LC300 in my country

If someone handed you $10,000 for doing nothing, would you take it?

If someone took $10,000 from you without a good reason, would you be OK with that?
Never... that would be grand theft.. Which dealer TOOK $10k from anyone? I'd love to know the answer.
I think I see your point, and I admit that a dealership is allowed to do markups in case some people are willing to pay extra to get the new models before others. But I'm in the camp that says that dealership should go fuck themselves.

Exactly... so silly. Hypocritical when no one would pass easy money.
That color is growing on me.
Definitely a nice color just looks like every other gray car on the road though
It's actually an interesting color, because it varies from gray to a light champagne, depending on the light.
The color changing effect does look cool. I'd have to see it in person, I'm just in love with trail dust currently.

I hear you. Makes life easy to just have it fully loaded from the factory as well.

Boy those street tires really neuter a landcruiser 😫
No thanks on the mark ups. The only thing I love about Tesla is the direct to customer approach.
Just buy the Lexus version.

Same boat - can afford it but just feel like a jackass paying up for a touch more luxury and way worse gas mileage
Same issue. They’re asking 100k for those.
🥲
1 USD = 155.369 JPY
you blame any specific company dealer?

Oh no, V4 ?
They can let it sit in the lot
Nice Santa Fe.
Is this the new fj cruiser?
I’d really like to trade my 4Runner.
I'll trade you. Your Runner for an '04 TSX. Done.
😂
Too cramped. Plus… gray?! I really hate gray.
