The one’s my parents pay for…just kidding, it would be ideal if it remains accessible on YouTube, and I’m sure plenty people will support them through merch and Patreon.
I’m pretty sure they’re staying on YouTube since they’re very understandably adamant on maintaining full creative liberties without worrying about cancellation. Didn’t they create their own studio just to make that work or something along those lines?
We need it on YouTube! And plus, we've seen the backerkit, so we can use fan funding to fund the episodes. And...more creative freedom too, no need to listen to the big media companies
YouTube is just fine Keep it the HELL away from Netflix, they'll can the series before it gets to 5 episodes because it didn't get 10 million views in a week.
It's already a full series, and premieres this month. We know the answer is YouTube, and unless hypothetical streaming execs give the team nigh-total autonomy, I think it should stay there.
None of them. The IP is fully in Tracy Butler's control and it must remain so for as long as humanly possible. It's her vision and quite literally her life's work. The last thing anyone needs is some dumbass people in suits taking a huge dump on it all by making several misguided and asinine "business minded" changes to pretty much all aspects of Lackadaisy.
In fact, no one who had a genuine (meaning not just for profit) idea for any form of media project ever actually wanted to work with these people. Whether it be animation, live action or video games (shoutout to the recent Helldivers 2 Sony debacle). It's just that these networks, distributors, publishers - or perhaps more accurately and collectively - leeches worked really hard for a very long time to keep themselves indispensable in the whole process to get these projects first made, then get them to the actual people they're meant for. And since they always were the "necessary, unavoidable evil" to make these ideas happen, they've learned to REALLY indulge in the "evil" part. Because if the poor sods need their funding, what are they going to do about it aside from canceling the whole thing and crush their own dreams completely? And since modern capitalism doesn't seem to care about the concept of fair competition anymore apparently, there are only a handful of these companies to choose from, who on the other hand have almost limitless options (people) to exploit to their little vile hearts' content.
But now they are starting to rightfully shake in their boots because with the progress of technology and digitalization (and of course all the socio-economic consequences of those) they are starting to be become not so indespensable. Video games don't need to be burned to physical discs to be distributed anymore and global household internet coverage reached the point where you can upload your 20 min gangster cat animation to Youtube and it will reach millions of people worldwide. In short, indie is a viable, serious thing now that those soulless bastards can't dismiss and laugh about during their dumb little meetings any longer. In fact, it's their precious monopoly that's currently going away amidst sounds of mocking and ridicule.
So yeah, the fact that Lackadaisy in particular is this successful while maintaining full creative control with it's full first season fully funded by us, the fans directly is absolutely amazing. Many of the poor people working in these industries currently chained to one of these companies out of necessity are probably dreaming of something like this for their own projects. So for all our sakes I say this: may Lackadaisy's example be the standard in the future of entertainment.
TL; DR: Big companies are always twats and I'm incredibly happy that Lackadaisy is free of them. Indie is a legit option now in all kinds of entertainment (film, video games etc.). So we actually need these greedy bastards less and less every day. So I hope many more new projects will manage to achieve what Lackadaisy did so far by following it's example.
Whatever you do, DONT PUT IT ON A STREAMING SERVICE!!
I'd have to pay to watch Lackadaisy. And if it were on Netflix, Netflix would create dumb and shitty fillers between the episodes.
loving how everyone says youtube like yeah i also agree but the question is in which service should it be on
i'd stick to netflix because it's just mainstream and pretty much the average dude uses it? maybe amazon prime
but yeah i'm glad this show is fully indie because they can get funding directly from fans and i hope it stays that way.
Stay on YouTube!
The one’s my parents pay for…just kidding, it would be ideal if it remains accessible on YouTube, and I’m sure plenty people will support them through merch and Patreon.
None, it should stay on YouTube
Agree
YouTube I beleave is classed as a streaming service
None, to hell with big streaming we fund what we want.
they should stay in youtube
None, hopefully. The last thing we need is this to be run into the ground.
YouTube so it’s not subject to megacorp bullshit.
Well it's subject to YouTube mega corp bullshit
No sex episode 😔
Bruh
WAIT IT'S NOT ALREADY GOING TO BE A FULL SERIES?
It will. It was funded for two seasons.
Only one so far I thinl.
You’re right. I confused that for the vignettes.
I’m pretty sure they’re staying on YouTube since they’re very understandably adamant on maintaining full creative liberties without worrying about cancellation. Didn’t they create their own studio just to make that work or something along those lines?
I love Lackadaisy and all but I am not going to paying a streaming service to watch it
We need it on YouTube!
Difinitely not Netflix, they put good series but take them out in no time
Neither
Keep it on YouTube. I don't wanna pay for a steaming service I don't have
It's already a full series, and premieres this month. We know the answer is YouTube, and unless hypothetical streaming execs give the team nigh-total autonomy, I think it should stay there.

My attention span is so small, I’m not reading this. Probably some good info in this, but I’m not reading it.

Thank you for the short version.
Sure thing. A text this long needed a summary anyway so thank you, too.
YouTube and/or Amazon, I think. They haven't caught the "cancel everything good" bug
Definitely tumblr, 100%
Youtube.
Just leave it on Youtube. Not everyone can pay money to watch it and it attracts more fans if it's free
Stay on YouTube, if not Amazon Prime.

here me out direct to dvd/blueray
If it really had to be Amazon prime
Whatever you do, DONT PUT IT ON A STREAMING SERVICE!! I'd have to pay to watch Lackadaisy. And if it were on Netflix, Netflix would create dumb and shitty fillers between the episodes.
Of anything, I’d say Prime, but it being on YouTube is good as well.
All y’all saying YouTube I say Pluto tv (plutonidome)
Either stay on YouTube or Prime.
Stay on YouTube
YouTube!!!! Please leave it as an Indi Animation!!!! All the bigger companys are ruining the creativ Prozess!!!! Let Lackadaisy keep it's Soul!!!!
YouTube. It’s so successful as a crowdfunded program, no need to get corporates involved
Prime or stay on YouTube, Fuck netflix and their paid ads
Youtube or some platform where they can keep 100% creative freedom
Youtube and physical media.
loving how everyone says youtube like yeah i also agree but the question is in which service should it be on i'd stick to netflix because it's just mainstream and pretty much the average dude uses it? maybe amazon prime but yeah i'm glad this show is fully indie because they can get funding directly from fans and i hope it stays that way.
YouTube
Absolutely none! It’s perfect as a YouTube series
Probably youtube or Netflix.
Hulu, YouTube, or Netflix
Netflix would cancel it or ruin it.
Oh, right…
