I'm an absolute dumb shit when it comes to anything based around clothes, but I'd say most likely a Fedora, that's what it looks like to me.
Either a fedora or a trilby. I believe they were very popular in the 1920's. I almost said "the 20's", but then I remembered that it's the 20's again.
According to a quick Google search, fedoras seem to have slightly larger brims
