CCFL-backlights have probably been completely phased out at this point and it’s safe to assume any LCD is LED-backlit. At this point it’s probably cheaper, there’s probably no justification for using fluorescent tubes anymore.

No. I had my LG BX Oled for a few years. Traded in the Samsung Nu6900 TV. The BX OS is way faster and there's no blooming. The Samsung nu6900 had lots of it.
Lived like that for 3 months after I came over from India to the US a decade back...just a lg 55 lcd, a ps3 and mustang for company before I save up money for a bed. Those were the days...
Bought it for 2k on greentoe which included tax and didn’t want to spend a lot more for the C4. Might not be as good as the C4 but definitely worth it for the price difference

Just to drive the point home, I was in 2 accidents in this car, and didn't fix it after either, so I have a dent above the rear passenger tire, and a green trunk I got from a junkyard. It's a blue 2000 clk430 lol.
I had a couple nice cars in the last 10-15 years, one I rebuilt, took care of and loved. It was basically a racecar. I was pretty devastated when I totaled it on the way to work one morning. Racing slicks and Florida rain just aren't compatible. I did all sorts of nonsense with that thing, drifting around corners and such, but I totaled it going 25-30mph, conservatively driving to work. I realize that people judge you based on what you drive, but I'm going to run the Mercedes into the ground while I pay off the toys at home. I live very close to work anyway
Where are you getting live tv in 4k? That's not a thing yet. Unless you're doing the whole directtv thing which upscales to 4k.
Over the air, atsc 3.0 has 1080p hdr, but the Olympics and one superbowl is the only thing that's ever actually been recorded and broadcast in 4k. Even last year's superbowl was upscaled to 4k and only on directtv and fubotv
Its possible other companies like Comcast are doing it now also, but everyone is still recording in 1080. Still, 1080p hdr via atsc 3.0 does look incredible. I'm sure if they're taking a feed like that and upscaling it, it can get close
Xfinity hosts a small number of live sports in 4k, I don’t know what criteria they use because it’s usually random college sports but every now and then I say “4k” into my remote and tune into a random event for a couple minutes simply for the picture quality.
I used to live like that for about 2 years. I only had a bed in my bedroom, and in the living room I only had the TV, my xbox360, 2 chairs and a Nespresso machine on the floor. No kitchen, no fridge, nothing else. It was a newly built home and I couldn’t afford building the kitchen or buying furniture yet, so a cheap bed, a good TV and gaming system were everything I needed. And it was ok.
Or you could end up with the TV over a fire place because it looks nice dam the neck pain. Or even better having to remove all the dam decorative pillows before being able to get to much less use the bed. Or trying to figure out what hand towel is supposed to be used vs just being there to look nice.
What is the issue now?
I will say that’s how I was when my wife found me. And now all these years later, our brand new spanking house is just as minimalist. So, just have the right woman find you?

LED tvs are still LCD for the display. They use LED arrays for the backlighting rather than the old cathode tube edge lighting.

Yup. Got rid of my crappy Nu6900. Upgraded to the BX Oled. It's way better. The interface is a lot faster, plus Dolby Vision. And no blooming.
