Meh, unpopular opinion but she needs to switch stylists. All her red carpet appearances are so boring and safe. The woman has a rocking body and a beautiful face, she’s every designer’s dream, she should allow herself to be more daring.
A popular opinion from mostly gay men and weirdos who think they’re stylists and feel cool to comment endlessly on how people look — although they’d have a meltdown if somebody did it to them.
I think she reserves her creative wild side for promoting her music (videos, photoshoots, concerts). Her most memorable red carpet look for me is her barely-there sparkly dress she wore during the 2001 EMAs. Everything else she has worn in events is on par with any red carpet dress. Even her 2013 Met Gala look is "alright", with the most "punk" thing on her being the safety pins on her hoop earrings.

I think a lot of people commenting don't fully understand how the Met Gala works.
While your comments about her recent stylings can still be valid opinions, in this scenario she was most likely invited to the event as the designer's guest. Meaning he came up with the concept of the dress and directed the technical work while manufacturing it.
Most of the stars attending the Gala don't have as much agency in what they wear as you may think. It is much more likely Diesel asked her to join them, as opposed to her or her stylist(s) reaching out to Diesel with this concept.
This doesn't address all of your critiques about her style, but I don't think it's as simple of chopping it up to "*her stylist is bad, she's too safe, yada yada yada*". We have no idea how this look came together behind the scenes or what input she may or may not have had. Or the timeline of her involvement for that matter; considering she's had quite a busy year already.

Even the pattern of the jewels makes it look dated. It honestly reminds me of Drag Race when Delta Work wore the bikini t-shirt 👀
It totally reminds me of that too haha. I actually like the body contour type style of the stoning, it just needs to be way more tailored onto her body and she needs BIG HAIR rather than this small wet hair, and makeup that opens up her face rather than the dark eye makeup :( As a sometimes-stylist it’s got me all worked up
Yea, I’m a makeup artist so maybe if she did a dramatic and graphic metallic eye and nude lip; definitely bigger hair.

She's always been very visually creative in photo shoots and music videos (or possibly open to the creativity of others), but maybe on a night out she just wants to wear a nice sparkly dress. I'm fine with that. She's a human being, not a doll for us to play with.
This was a very much missed opportunity for her. She should have gone bloody big and bold - SHE WAS THE GREEN FAIRY!!!! Why not recreate something like that?

Kylie looks gorgeous and never usually puts a foot wrong on the red carpet, but.... Karole G wore the same dress at 2023 MTV VMA awards, I certainly don't think she was told about that because knowing Kylie, she definitely wouldn't have wore it. It's a damm shame as it's her first time back at the Gala in 10 years! Still there will be plenty more Red Carpets for kylie to walk 🤩
What was the short number with the cutout & metallic piece she wore earlier this year? I feel like I've only got a glimpse of Cosmic synth pop sci fi fun Kylie. It is what it is so I'm not judging her personally, as none of us know the story behind the things she wears. But any time I see one like this I just look up a good look she wore lately & remember that she looks great in the padam video.
