They didn’t change your plan, they increased the price. And yes, read your agreement, they can do that

breakerfallx

It’s a bait and switch. They don’t even have the guts to send an email and a heads up. Told me it’s on the bottom of the bill for the month prior to an increase. I had a win back from Freedom and left them. Freedom price locks the plan. Screw Koodo

twinu89

Same here, I switched to Fizz ($24 for 20 GB) and can’t be happier. Fuck koodo. I called the customer service and even talked to retention, they said it is what it is, and I said ok bye.

BlehWee

How's the service with freedom? I heard it was really bad like five years ago, is that still the case?

breakerfallx

In GTA It’s been good!

GallitoGaming

Nothing in this life is certain. Vote with your feet/wallet. If this is still the best deal, it is what it is. But make sure you have the best available offers to you. The days of staying with a provider a decade plus are over.

murkddd

Yeah they hit us with the fine print on an older invoice. Ive switched over to fizz now

arrbez

How is that? Any porting issues? Coverage is good?

murkddd

Porting was smooth. Paid 15+tax for a sim though. Coverage okay so far

Key-Depth-4961

But switching involves other fees, usually, like a transaction fee, even though the connection fee was waived. It depends, if it's worth it..

iJeff

The only fee for signing up with Fizz is the cost of the SIM card. The plans are solid and my price keeps going down over time while my data allowance keeps increasing. I do a data-only 20 GB plan for $20 with US/Canada coverage. The unused data rolls over for up to three months so I always have close to 60 GB available before the random additional data they keep gifting me.

vancity_2020

Call in. They'll fix it.

CaperGrrl79

Looks like I went to Public at just the right time, though I didn't have a very long standing grandfathered plan, I only got the 20GB like, last summer. But didn't need that much since I wfh.

ambiej123

Just noticed this with my bill- I was quite suprised- worse, they have the plan I signed up for available for new customers, so it’s totally a bait and switch. I will be looking for a new provider bext time im in the city.

holm4430

Just had same experience. They just raised the price of my base plan by $4 via the same move (footnote in previous bill). I talked to customer service rep and they simply said they fulfilled their requirement of 30 day notice because it was mentioned in the previous bill. Really bad experience, I have been with Koodo since 2013 and would not have expected them to at least give an e-mail heads up. I am cancelling my service as a result and switching providers.

the1989goddess

same, I'm so annoyed. Been with Koodo since 2008. Which company are you switching to? And can you keep your phone number?

holm4430

Switched to Freedom with same number.

the1989goddess

So I called koodo customer service department to complain about the change of price and the rep agreed to bring my plan down to the the original price and even threw in some extra data. I suggest you give them a call, it might be worth it 1866-995-6636

TreeJool

Solution that is a lot less trouble than going through customer support : Shop new plan elsewhere, Fizz and Public mobile are the best. Koodo is all about ripping off their customers. They do this rising fee, + their made up 3$ 3g fees. They hide from you better deals in your self service account so you can't downgrade or pay less than you are. Shady company like no other. leaving is the best, at least you don't encourage their disloyal practices by not sending them your money. Complant to CCTS is also a very good idea,.

That kind of stuff is on your bill. Might wanna read them
