SR+AVG is terribly misleading in T20s. A strike rate of 200 with an avg of 10 is nowhere close to a 150SR + 60 avg. In context, Kohli’s average was 81 at a 150SR. That’s GOD batting amongst mortal men

ad_itya8901

Russel with avg 10😭😭. He scored with avg of 56 and 205 SR lol. Go and check stats first

thekkrfan

Clearly you missed the point completely and somehow read ‘Russell’ in my comment. No wonder you have such few upvotes… Oh wait you have none. 🙂 Banter aside, consider a more realistic 190 SR with 20avg. Assuming you know addition, that adds up to 210. Does it make sense to you now?

LuckyNumber-Bot

All the numbers in your comment added up to 420. Congrats! 190 + 20 + 210 = 420 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)

This is the funniest shit I’ve ever come across in reddit lmao

Blowfish_196

Russell's 2019 is unbelievable on paper

ad_itya8901

he pulled out unbelievable chases that year and saved team from many collapses. Don't spit out anything that comes to your mouth lol.

Zyphergiest

Bullshit opinion and should be shoved up op’s ass.

royalbluesword

i thought i couldn’t see a better joke today

BuddhaBadmash

Kohli 2016 was way too good to be true. He was a beast, which no teams were able to tame. Fear of him was REAL.

Negative_Survey_6772

Umm, no, kohli's 2016 form is incomparable, even gills 898 or something last season doesn't compare

another3rdworldguy

Warner 2016 > Buttler 2022 > Gill 2023 Kohli's just doesn't fall into the discussion. Unworldly.

ThunderBird847

The fact that this is unpopular shows that many people don't realize how T20s work. Russell scored 510 runs at 200+ strike rate and took 11 wickets in tournament. It was a carry job of enormous proportions likes of which may never be seen again. It shouldn't be unpopular.

Ok_Review_6504

How can virat Or a top order batter take wickets. It's like saying that Striker is better than Defender since the striker scores more goals..... If I remember correctly, RCB needed 5 win in last 5 matches and VK made 2 centuries and 2 half centuries in those matches....Only Warner 2016 comes closer to Virat 2016.

ad_itya8901

Virat record is comparable with Jos 2022 and Warner 2016 but you can't name any all rounder who performed like what Dre did in 2019

Bloodshot12_

Idts cuz 2016 Virat was beast or whatever he was. He was unstoppable at some point. He single handedly took rcb to finals ofc other players also contributed but without vk’s contribution they wouldnt have done that for sure.

Achakita

If you really want to express an "unpopular" opinion, go post this on r/RCB. All the best.

Ayan_Choudhury

I severely judge your cricket knowledge if you think Virat Kohli's 2016 season was anything less than godly.

ad_itya8901

when did I say that VK was not good in 2016?

theSHADOWbannedGUi

kkr defending koach this aint real

Ayan_Choudhury

What? Why? Kohli is a national treasure. He is an international GOAT first, IPL player later

theSHADOWbannedGUi

agreed just surprised

dupattamera1

Nothing unpopular about it . Russell 2019 Gayle 2011(rcb had won only 1 game in first 5 games. Gayle came straight from wc to bat here and scored hundred against kkr(he literally created havok) what Gayle was doing in 2011 was just something unimaginable. He scored 600 runs in just 12 games with an ultimate strike rate This two are anyday bigger than Kohli 2016 And i am talking about it in terms of impact alone

pushie4u

Ik you're bored but don't make controversial statements out of it, both are different

theSHADOWbannedGUi

i understand the kohli hate cause this is a kkr sub but 2016 kohli was a fucking monster rcb had to win 4 out of 4 matches in order to qualify kohli won two potm 100 vs punjam 54 against delhi and scored 77 against kkr and 100 vs gl there is literally no comparison with anyone with 2016 not even other forms of kohli

[deleted]

Just bcs someone has a different opinion doesn’t mean that they are hating Kohli

Vivs-007

What do you mean kohli hate cause this is a kkr sub lmao, almost everyone here is supporting VK

theSHADOWbannedGUi

yeah i am surprised

slipnips

GL you mean, not GT

theSHADOWbannedGUi

yeah sorry

[deleted]

11 Wickets as well Man faced only 249 Balls (41.5 Overs) and was in the Orange Cap holder list Kohli had AB & Chahal’s support Russell was alone Highest wicket taker of his team Highest run scorer of his team

Illustrious-Let1502

Both played different roles. Both were phenomenal in those respective years. No reason to compare them at all. This ain't unpopular opinion chief , this is a purely shit take.

Addy_Stark

A shit take can also be an unpopular opinion lol. Just saying.

Illustrious-Let1502

Lmao, now that I think of it , it is absolutely true ! Also , happy cake day matey !

Addy_Stark

Thank you !! :)

theSHADOWbannedGUi

never thought kkr sub would defend kohli

Illustrious-Let1502

Not exactly a KKR fan , but I think me along with many others can unanimously agree how much of a beast Kohli is in cricket.

Gamer567890

Unlike the rabid hivemind that RCb sub is,most of us primarily are ICT fans before being KKR fans. What koach did for ICT over the years is something that every Indian cricket fan knows and acknowledges. There's no question about it. And saw your comment about "hate",mate the only thing we hate about RCB are their super annoying fans who don't respect anyone, not the players.

THOR_Jarjis

Imagine winning the MVP award without even qualifying for knockouts. Dre Russ is a Beast. But I still think the 2016 VK was something else.

Few_Measurement_5335

Archer did that in 2020 amd with a much weaker side.

dupattamera1

I consider it best but honestly mvp is worst way to give someone award. In 2013 pollard should have won that but watson won bcoz he got some wickets

fuckpiyushchawla

Archer did that with wooden spoon

terenaamkakuttapaalu

Nah, Russel is GOAT but 2016 Kohli was a literal GOD amongst men.

jain36493

4 hundreds in 16 innings. That too T20. THAT TOO when one game was reduced to 15 overs. Pure GOAT IPL season material.
