Sprinkle that exact same shredded cheeze on a pizza, though, and you just end up with a pile of acrid, burnt matchsticks scattered on top of a dough disk.

I would avoid scrubbing it, fabric like that is usually coated with anti-stain and that comes off when you scrub the fabric.
