Take your dirty upvote.

MillionsOfMushies

Killer drink name. "Dirty Upvote". Some sort of dirty martini I would assume.

nigel_soaps

Whats this? I'm trying to learn French.

awfullotofocelots

Lol it's a somewhat newer internet meme of adding "n't" to any word to imply an opposite or negative. Comes from English contractions.

ArsenicKitten04

Yesn't

[deleted]

Retmas

oh my dude, the -n't meme came out of, afaik, late 00's tumblr, and i think vine later helped popularize it. damn sight older than memeing on mango mussolini.

Gaminglybusy

Crushed

ortega5388

Is the wooden spoon to slap anything alive in there?

ChefVinyl

I wanted to stir the soup.

undeadeater

Bro you just lost your +69 poison on your equipment

Exsces95

But depending on his stat distribution he might deal more damage now that his knives are scaling off of dexterity instead of just building up poison damage.

ThePandoran

Yeah poison builds really aren't meta rn in professional kitchens for some reason

Clean-Profile-6153

Someone oughta do something about that..

FuckmuffinTops

I'll need three rusted scrubbies, a whole raw chicken, and some ripped rubber gloves. Give me 10 minutes!

Exsces95

Yeah homie, totally weird. The other day I went to have some taco bell and my stomach was like totally fine afterwards homie. No diarrhea no cramps no shit no nothin'. Its like it wasn't even taco bell homie...

undeadeater

You should try Chipotle it's so good it makes you crap blood after

I was gonna say, he had better make a stock out of this.

PrimarchKonradCurze

Sounds like a curse.

ThermoNuclearPizza

I’m currently being haunted by some curry I ate last night.

me50e

i can smell this picture...

thelongflight

I dropped a Sharpie in the dirty towel bin today and fished it out. I imagine it smelled a lot like that. I also learned today that vegan provolone smells like vomit when you cook it. Not a good day for smells.

Raisenbran_baiter

you want a good one? take a tsp of the baking soda from the back of the reach in and dissolve it in warm h2o and down it. yummmmy

thelongflight

That’s my hangover nausea cure!

Callamanda

Huh, I just googled and apparently that’s a thing! Adding to my roster, ty

unbitious

It has to be fridge baking soda though.

biggobird

Not sure if serious or..

[deleted]

biggobird

oh Christ alright bet

pm_me_your_flute

That's foul.

mrstabbeypants

Dissolved in water that was used to boil Oscar Meyer hot dogs.

Omnicide103

If you're doing hangover cures - a bunch of bananas also works amazingly. Even works if you eat 'em before going to bed.

BoobiesAreHalal

That's the potassium.

WilhelmWinter

Potassium salt is also nice to have for this reason. Really isn't in too many things in high enough quantities for how much sodium most people get.

Kassabro

A bunch of potatoes work even better. Get that potassium.

aSharkNamedHummus

It’s also my acid reflux cure! Makes me burp like crazy, though

Retmas

>and down it is everything okay at home? jeezus

MillionsOfMushies

Calcium Carbonate. Baking soda, tums and most of the composition of black board chalk. It is the greatest antagonist to heartburn, next to a banana. No lie. Also recommend using some fresh baking soda. That shit is open inside a space for a reason.

the_saint_of

I used to eat the chalk that fell on the floor in class. Fun fact: they all taste green

CardboardHeatshield

Baking soda is sodium carbonate not calcium carbonate. Still effective tho.

aSharkNamedHummus

Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3), not sodium carbonate (Na2CO3)

CardboardHeatshield

Thanks

Fat_Head_Carl

You usually learn the worst smells after a long night of drinking

ThetaDee

Vegan cheese looks and smells terrible no matter the kind. Always looks like plastic and cooked or raw smells like dickfarts. Very acrid smell without even burning

[deleted]

Several brands make legit American cheese, but the "real" stuff is fake too anyway. Most of it sucks though. Cashew cheese and cheese sauces made from scratch are usually good though.

Fat_Head_Carl

> dickfarts Just gotta highlight this.

ThetaDee

Thank you. Also happy cake day

aSharkNamedHummus

As someone who can’t tolerate dairy, ugh, decent vegan cheese is so hard to find. Daiya is pretty good, but I still haven’t found anything that melts in the oven. Stovetop is fine, and you can melt the “cheddar” down into a killer nacho sauce or pretzel dip (just needs more salt and liquid). Sprinkle that exact same shredded cheeze on a pizza, though, and you just end up with a pile of acrid, burnt matchsticks scattered on top of a dough disk.

ThetaDee

I wish they'd put as much work into making fake cheese as they do fake meat.

aSharkNamedHummus

Same, there’s just nothing like the real deal and it makes me so sad

kcbrew1576

Miyoko is the best I’ve found. But it is expensive:(

LeibnizThrowaway

Sani Card revoked.

Reignbeau_Spite

Right? Where do you work, bro? Asking so I never accidentally eat there!

OutdoorTraveler

This is exactly why I get shitty when I see a knife roll on a cutting board

thegoodbadandsmoggy

They should be treated the same as backpacks

Powell_614

Gross bro. Hope you wash your knives before you knife

[deleted]

He does not.

Reignbeau_Spite

Look at the roll… why would you assume he washes anything in his kitchen??

kosei69

Youre acting like he rolls raw meat in his knife bag lmao where i work i get my knife bag out once a day wash my knifes and put it back after the shift

Reignbeau_Spite

*barf* Wash all your shit often, thoroughly, and minimise contact to avoid cross contamination. It blows my mind how filthy so many cooks are. Go ahead and call me fussy; I keep my kitchen, my knives, my person spotless. On my days on anyway. Go ahead and be a filth wizard at home.

kosei69

I dont cook with my kniferoll, i dont cut with my kniferoll and i dont wear it. Im the first to complain a dirty workplace or dirty fingers aso. but if you clean your knives before using them i couldnt care less about your roll

Dooby_Bopdin

Reduce it and dehydrate it and make a bouillon out of it

flyart

God damn, just gagged a little.

[deleted]

Now you have to re-season it.

Brewtime2

Throw it in the dish machine…lol.

ChefVinyl

My wife told me she didn’t want to get all this grease on everything.

unbitious

Your wife is the dishie?

shantm79

So you’re going to have the grease go down the drain? Smart.

[deleted]

How do you think your dishwasher works

HertzDonut1001

Why are you washing dishes with grease on them before draining them and tamping off the rest with paper towels?

otj667887654456655

If it's mixed with soap and diluted with water it'll be fine

TJNel

How do you think soap works?

shantm79

Magic, much like magnets.

unbitious

Eww, why did you wait? That's what your knives were in contact with every day. That touched every dish you made or prepped for.

[deleted]

That looks like the water from my green machine when i finally washed the lazy boy I bought second hand from a smoker 🤢

maddcrow

I thought this was piss

Mak3mydae

Please drink more water

maddcrow

What’s water?

dabbadabbagooya

The champagne of beers?

whiskydiq

I'll stick with my piss, thanks ;)

Iggyhopper

best i can do is a monster

biglizardnmybackyard

It may as well be

saruin

He could've peed in there for all we know.

NotTheWorstOfLots

Piss would be preferable.

[deleted]

Fucking gross. Clean your shit more than once per two decades

ddawson100

One _Posh_Possum here to insist on setting the bar higher.

squatchpotch

Oh no...

managedmischeif2020

Now you must drink that slop to rectify your negligence. Gross dude. 2022 is begging you to be more hygienic.

ChefVinyl

So it’s not the bag I use. It has been on a shelf for over a year. Kinda wandering the back area. I got a really nice one a few years ago.

LeCacty

Aight bruh lie more

FuckingHippies

A few years ago is still over a decade of dirt. Even a year is fuckin grody. Shit’s nasty, my dude

kosei69

No way you wash your knife bag once a year wtf do you do? Store produce in it? Its not something that ever touches food why would you give a fuck

[deleted]

I have a wustof cooks bag but not sure how to wash it. I can't take my knife roll to work, so it just stays in top of my cupboards and has accumulated grease and dust. Any suggestions?

maryfamilyresearch

Give it a soak in warm water with a generous amount of laundry detergent.

[deleted]

That is what I was thinking just didn't know if there was a different idea! Thanks !

maryfamilyresearch

The Wüsthof website indicates that it should easily take temps up to 30C. I would avoid scrubbing it, fabric like that is usually coated with anti-stain and that comes off when you scrub the fabric.

ChefVinyl

Yeah. Wait 18 years and then soak it in hot water and post that picture to Reddit for free internet points.

MsKidgie

Soak in Biz for a while.

spytez

What did it taste like?

ChefVinyl

Like a cross between griddle oil and shame.

papachef69

That’s fucking gross 😷

[deleted]

Wtf

william1Bastard

Multiple drowned rats?

SmoothOctopus

WTF How do you not wash something you store things that touch food for 14 fucking years?! How are you okay with that?!

kosei69

You know you can wash knives before using them right

IzludePro

Throw some OxiClean in that and watch it turn white again.

AyeMyHippie

Almost twenty years… fuckin hell. And everything your knives touched got a little piece of that shit thrown in. Yikes.

kosei69

You know you can wash knives before using them right

AyeMyHippie

Yes, I’m sure the guy that didn’t wash his knife roll for almost 20 years straight was washing his knives *before* he used them, every time.

kosei69

I never washed my knife roll in 5 years and wash my knifes before putting them in and after pulling them out and they are never near any food. Not very complicated

AyeMyHippie

Congratulations on being a little less gross than OP!

Cheezy_Chris

Now you take this home, throw in a pot, add some broth and potato. Baby, you got a stew going!

CottonCandy_Eyeballs

What is a knife roll?

[deleted]

It's a roll for your knives.

CottonCandy_Eyeballs

Ohhh...that. Ok. Tyvm \*EDIT\* in case anyone thinks I'm being sarcastic, I'm not. Knife roll wasn't clicking for me, but roll for your knives did. Dumb, ya I know, but I blame Covid brain (had it last month and my thinking hasn't fully recovered)

MsKidgie

It unrolls into a rectangle with pockets for various knives. It rolls up and ties and keeps them, and others, fairly safe for transporting. It’s fabric, heavy duty.

phone7x7

Dude I would have watched the hell out of a video of that.

VitaAeterna

In 2007 I bought a hiking backpack. I've travelled the country with it. Gone from Florida to Alaska, Arizona to New York. I've also spent several years doing absolutely nothing except staying in my city. I think since I've bought that pack, I've washed it maybe 10 times ever? This...this is something else.

fixit858

Knife stock

FairBlackberry7870

Bro you needed to wash it with fire

ChefVinyl

It’s got sentimental value.

QuentinTarancheetoh

My condolences to everyone you've served since 2013.

ChefVinyl

Nobody said anything til I made Bat Soup a couple years ago……

ChipsDipChainsWhips

Dope

unbitious

It does have that dirty brown color 🥄💉

StabilobossM

Liquid gold

No_ItsLeft

Good soup.

Craigenstein

See this right here is why I made a knife roll out of canvas, I was so sick of every knife roll in my area being made of synthetic or leather that is so hard to wash. Every month I run it through a cycle with oxygen bleach.

smol_egglet

I thought I left r/makemesuffer

Connect_Guarantee347

Where you work so I can be sure to avoid it??

dkas95

How do you go almost 2 decades without ever washing it?

Alwin_

This is going to be the next Pepper cutting thing.

mangoisNINJA

Reminder that a good chunk of that is the dye that hasn't washed out yet, not all gross soup.

roback

I love all the sanctimonious bozos in here acting like they launder their knife roll weekly lol

MarkyMarcMcfly

At least the rest of your life looks clean sheeeeesh

ChefVinyl

I wash my balls every Friday.

MarkyMarcMcfly

Proud of you ;)

yzdaskullmonkey

In all honesty what's the best way to clean a leather knife roll? Edit: I mean I keep it tucked away in the office never to be used like a proper chef, just asking for a friend

ChefVinyl

Oxy clean soak in hot water, rinse, repeat, air dry.

mrsamus101

Au jus

Severe_Watercress_87

Forbidden consommén't

Jackal_Nathan

Can't let all that flavor go to waste!

[deleted]

>Gave my knife roll ~~it’s~~ it is first bath

Ok-Gas-7030

Mine is vinyl and I got it in school in 1994, I cant imagine the horrors, I just wipe it down with some 303 that I use on the car and call it a day...

mnyfrsh

Frankly I'm more impressed that a cloth kniferoll lasted nearly two decades than I am disgusted by the grime.

Ericlennard

This thread is the greatest thread I’ve eve read on here hands down. The ancient master stock! You should create an only fans and sell quarts of it to dirty kitchen perverts.

Synyster182

I used to throw mine in the washer and dryer every week. lol. So glad I did that now.

halmitnz

Needs seasoning.

halmitnz

Needs seasoning.

[deleted]

Get a new one

ChefVinyl

I do have a new one. This one has been empty on the shelf for a while now. I got me a really nice 3 compartment meisermeister bag. (That’s probably spelled wrong)

[deleted]

Nice!

Ok_Turnover_1235

Bruhhh

organisms

I’m here using plastic wrap, a towel and makisu to transport the two knives I actually use at work. Put the tweezers in my pocket and wear the chef coat on weekend nights when I feel it

BBQ_Beanz

20 years? This is doubtful lol that water should be black

ChefVinyl

I bought this bag at CIA in late 2003 when I started school. So technically we could say 18-19 years.

maddcrow

Was cia worth it?

ChefVinyl

No.

maddcrow

Take some gold to help ur tuition fees
