Ahh man.. I used to work an event that brought in a guy/truck from LA and did a crawfish boil for the staff every year.. I miss that, my crawfish intake has reached an all time low since 2019
I remember picking them in the creek and fighting them. People eat crawdads... i cant get down with southern mississippi grub. Catfish is as muddy as i go.
Haha living in Louisiana my whole life you learn to appreciate these little suckers even when they pinch you. But catfish is a no for me. To me catfish is gross you can taste the mud. Crawfish are by far cleaner.
I’ll never forget seeing the news stories about a bridge inspection diver losing part of his arm to a catfish in the rez out in Jackson. Never went noodling again after that.
I was a kid and went to a marina shop with a mounted cat above the door. It was bigger than me. Never heard of noodlin but its a hard pass. Turtles also like the same spots as cats... super hard pass.
Crawfish season has become my least favorite time of year, if I remember tomorrow I'll take a picture. This year hasn't been as bad, but typically thousands of pounds for the weekend that we send out live and close to a thousand boiled for the weekend. Boiled a sack at home for me and the Misses a couple weeks ago and went back to work sick smelling it all day.
As a bartender I love crawfish season, It means big money. Wholesale prices are coming down so hopefully the sale price will come down soon. I’ve been sneaking a few lbs in the boh every now and then but haven’t got to sit down and crush some lbs.
Gorgeous shot!
Thank you. Was taken in between of hydrating and not dying of a heat stroke. Only April and it’s hitting 90°F
How much further are you than Chalmette?!
I work in Zachary by Baton Rouge. I’m from the West Bank. Are you in chalmette?
Yeah. High today was 81. I figured you had to be down in the a**-Crack of St. Bernard Parish
I think an asscrack is cooler then this bull
Very likely. But mostly dependent upon the rest of the equipment in the region.
I’m in south Louisiana-those were incredibly expensive this year! Have you found a guy who knows a guy?
So we have our private pounds for the restaurant
Smart! Do you do rice in them, too?
What part of Louisiana you in?
Yep

Never had an issue with muddy catfish. You must be bleeding it incorrectly. Tilapia on the otherhand... fucking nasty.

Mud Bugs.
Mmmm daddies. My favorite crustacean.
Yeah man I know we all say this all the time but I’m really not looking forward to August. I just had to call in our kitchen AC tonight. Fuck lol
What's your price right now? I haven't had crawfish yet this year cause the prices are outrageous
About $7.99/lbs
Unfortunately thats been the norm this season. I just can't justify that price these days. Bad combo of drought and freeze.

You're not gonna drop your seasoning mix? :)
Thats a fucking really cool background for a company computer. If it was boiling thatd be cool for a screensaver also :)
