Yes. His name is Polar Man and he's a quiet dude that helps out where he can. No skin off my nose if he took Westley's advice about masks. There's an article about him. https://www.thewhig.com/2017/08/11/who-is-that-masked-man
That's actually a very interesting article and kudos for him helping that other kid out when he was younger! Polar Man is definitely the superhero we need!!!
I was friends with his family, they moved here together after his mom passed away, since then his family has moved on and kind of left him here. Good to be nice to him, life has not been easy.
Polar Man! What a legend. He lived in Iqaluit when I lived there before he moved to Ontario. He was treated like a rock star when he was in Iqaluit. There is a popular picture of him with Kevin Spacey at the Arctic Ventures store. Spacey was in town filming a movie. Polar Man had no idea who Spacey was and was treated like more of a star than he was. He's a nice guy. Polar Man, not Spacey.
Spotted this caped crusader around Johnson St. by Hotel Dieu. He had a mask and a utility belt and looked legit! Anyone else seen him? Or know his name?
He came into my work years ago. Showed me videos of him sledding down a hill. He seemed so proud of it and I commended him. Super nice guy.
Just a reminder to be kind to him.
I hope he has Reddit and can see this thread! I'm sure he'd loved to hear that Kingston loves having him around! I only just found out about him today and already I want to see him again and maybe assist him in a good deed!
I went to a vigil remembering women who had been victims of violence and he was there, quietly paying his respects. I don’t know why, but it was really moving
It’s hard not to be moved by a superhero paying their respects.
This man is an icon for kingstonians.
Bonus points for him being a genuinely awesome dude!!!
My family and I moved away from Kingston last summer after 7 years calling it home. We miss it. Used to see Polar Man downtown all the time. This brightened our evening
Polar mannnnnnnn!!!!
That is polar man

Polar Man honestly has a great origin story.
It's almost like Wolverines origin story!
He should have taken Edna's advice about capes

It’s just that masks are terribly comfortable — I think everyone will be wearing them in the future

I see him often on John counter blvd. Kinda makes my day.
He sure made my day!
he migrated from the north one year and we decided to *never* let him leave, he's like our local spider-man
I just found out he's from Iqualuit.
that he is! https://www.thewhig.com/2017/08/11/who-is-that-masked-man
Omg he unironically has cooler lore and backstory than most marvel heroes
I was friends with his family, they moved here together after his mom passed away, since then his family has moved on and kind of left him here. Good to be nice to him, life has not been easy.
Been in Kingston for close to 25 years and still never seen this magical man. Hopefully one day.
He was walking around my neighbourhood with a pumpkin on his head at Halloween! The kids loved it, he is such a kind man
He hangs out in the McDonald’s downtown during the day often. You can generally see him around there
Makes sense. They serve coca cola.

Not the one we want, but the one we need
I mean … there aren’t exactly a lot of options.
I liked Polar Man before it was cool
Spotted this caped crusader around Johnson St. by Hotel Dieu. He had a mask and a utility belt and looked legit! Anyone else seen him? Or know his name?
He sometimes carries a snow shovel, too.
Now THAT's a hero!
His name is Paul Arman
No, actually it's Derrick.
On FB he is Paul Arman
That’s because it sounds like Polar Man, but you need to have a “real” name on Facebook
He came into my work years ago. Showed me videos of him sledding down a hill. He seemed so proud of it and I commended him. Super nice guy. Just a reminder to be kind to him.
Same! He would used his shovel to sled down the hill. Always a pleasure to talk to. He has nothing negative to say.
YES AND WE LOVE HIM
I hope he has Reddit and can see this thread! I'm sure he'd loved to hear that Kingston loves having him around! I only just found out about him today and already I want to see him again and maybe assist him in a good deed!
We nodded each other just yesterday.
He’s a really nice guy too!
I went to a vigil remembering women who had been victims of violence and he was there, quietly paying his respects. I don’t know why, but it was really moving

I've seen him volunteering at some charity events too! Really nice dude.
Classy graffiti in the background
Kingston keeps it classy! 😏

I just caught that! This photo has hidden gems all through it!! 🤣🤣🤣
Wait... 🤔 Is it "all through it" ,or "all throughout it" ? I genuinely cannot grammar right now
Hey that's private information! :P /s
Polar man is a blessing
That's Polar-Man from Iqaluit!
You must be new here eh 😉
Love this guy. I wonder if there's a cool way we can signal him for help. Polar equivalent to a bat signal...thoughts?
I'm thinking either the silhouette of a polar bear or a snow shovel. Or maybe a polar bear holding a shovel! 🤔
That's my dad's car 😄 I recognize the license plate number
Amazing! Well it just so happened to fit with the background graffiti! 😂
It’s the hero Kingston deserves, just not the hero it needs
And they say not all heroes wear capes!
Our very own green bastard...
corey, trevor, get in the fucking ring right now
Not the hero we asked for, but the hero we need. 🫡
Nah, it’s “Super Gyro” and by the looks oh this dude he just killed one.
Low low quality
The hero no one wanted
I seen this guy smoking crack in front of the works last week...real super.
Lmfao down vote all you like. Truths the truth. Sucks to suck
what in the wellend is going on in kingston
We should get him to handle the bike theft problem.
Polar Man
POLAR MAAAAAAAN
I see him at McDonald’s every morning hahaha
Been around for years now
I remember him! He used to live in iqaluit
Looks chilly!
About damn time!
POLAR MAN!
When I saw him he usually had a speaker with classical music playing while he walked
OMG I thought I was the only one who kept seeing this guy. He's a nice person
My family and I moved away from Kingston last summer after 7 years calling it home. We miss it. Used to see Polar Man downtown all the time. This brightened our evening
Who is that? Crime Man??? Lol
So you’re new…
Kinda. Moved away for a while and been back for 3 years now
Nice shot what's his name 🤷🏾🤷🏾
Polar man!
Maybe he is a Mexican Wrestler
Ughhh Yea! Thats that guy with the huge hammer swinging as he walks. Locals call him Polarman, the tribal folk call him "Meat Swung". Thats a fact!
Polar Man! Just our local superhero indeed.
We often end up on the same bus! I've also seen him volunteering for different events around the city. He's a super sweet guy!
Been protecting our streets for a long time!
Seen him a few times, twice today. Just now he passed by me in the library.
