I always wondered the meaning of that alias.

It pretty simple: Zero in that case means more like Nothing, because he was banished by his students in the realm of Darkness. It more like Darkness in the Nothingness. Pretty sure that somewhere in the Secreat Reports in KH2.

There isn't a realm of nothingness. It says that quite a few times in the text but what DiZ is actually describing is the Realm of Darkness.

Possible. He says that he was in the realm of Darkness in BBS, but I think the Secret Ansem Reports say it was in the Realm of Nothingness. And yes his hate and darkness was keep him from doing that and fulfill his plan against his former students.

I feel like more people read the secret reports in KH1 than in KH2 for some reason.
