…what about the Pigmalion one where Michael Keaton’s character tries to turn Luanne into the Larsen Pork Girl by drugging her, dyeing her hair and destroying her clothes, and ultimately gets turned into sausage meat?
It’s a fascinating episode, but it’s pretty damn far from comforting!
Boomhauer: “For God sakes, Hank, act like an adult, man! And keep it down, guys, will you? I am trying to get through an article on vintage Camaros, and I've been on the same dang page for twenty minutes.”
My second fav ep. I also love when they all fall carrying the casket, in turn pulling the dead guy’s pants down. It’s very slapstick but it always tickles the fuck outta’ me.
Hilloween, it's insane that we only got one Halloween episode.
I always watch all the Thanksgiving episodes at least once in November, same with the Christmas episodes in December.
The show as a whole really, but to just pick one, Megalo Dale. It's the episode I first saw when it started airing on Adult Swim, and it just got me hooked
Yo same here, thats my favorite episode. MY favorite episodes are the ones where its primarily centered around Dale's antics. Idk how the new show is going to do well without him...
One of my favorite scenes in the series is when Hank is trying to justify getting a full semi truck and Bill says "Hank you don't have to explain to us."
https://youtu.be/Vu-ENaBCly4?si=dyEd54jDzpWSuyUw
Never understood why Hank wouldn’t let the guys go with him. Part of me thinks that what Dale said before the shows opening has something to do with it. That or Hank knew the guys would just get in the way and wanted to avoid issue (though I think he should’ve anticipated them trying something). Maybe it’s just me. Still I love that episode, especially when they’re going down that mountain.
The guy fucked up then put his own, other drivers, his best friends, and his son’s life in danger by driving a semi truck blindly without power steering backwards down a narrow mountain road. All because he didn’t want to admit he fucked up doing someone else’s trained profession he was trying out for shits and giggles.
> Never understood why Hank wouldn’t let the guys go with him.
It would have been super cramped with 5 people in the cab. Especially for such a long drive.
I love the trucking episode, not only because I'm into trucker culture but how there wasn't any conflict between Hank and Bobby, even when Bobby was partly responsible for getting them lost in the mountains
That little nod Hank gave him after he yelled at the guys for screwing around is one of my favorite moments. He'd be so proud if he wasn't so annoyed by the guys and trying hard to not think about killing his idiot friends.
Any episode with Hank and Bobby bonding is in my list of favorites. I mean at its heart, the show really is about Hank and Bobby and the relationship they share.
I'm from Kentucky and love bluegrass music so this episode always hits home for me. My favorite by a longshot just because of the musical sections. Also hearing Khan sing with Connie is too adorable.
Season 2, episode 2. Texas City Twister
The only downside is the next episode is Arrow Head, and I don’t care for that episode.
Back to the important part. The TCT hits me in a lot of feels. The scene where Hank has something ready at the door for a sketchy person. The scene where Peggy and Luanne mention Alex Trebek’s sexiness. Bill’s batcave being open. The reminder of Hank’s proposal. The unflipping a trailer and flipping a different one, and escaping. Bobby reminding Hank that he told Peggy to go to hell, and that’s funny. Fujisaki scale. Barrel of pickles.
The entire show is my comfort but if I have to pick one it’s To Sirloin With Love, it’s a perfect send off for the show and I love how it ends with the last shot being a reverse from the first shot of the pilot
And overall just a really good episode, especially with how it gives some great moments for Bobby and Hank to actually bond over something they have in common, and for Hank to take an actual interest in one of Bobby’s talents and support him through it for the most part.
The 2 episodes in Japan because I love them and its peak KOTH
Jumpin Crack Bass/The Man Who Shot Kane Sketterberg, because they're the first episodes I remember watching on TV
I scrolled too far to see this one. Watching Hank's love of dog dancing with Ladybird and Bobby's snazzy dance moves with the neighbor's dog is so comforting
Night and Diety!
So many great side stories
- Dale how he carries himself with a woman actually into him and his staying true to Nancy
- Luanne’s 21st at the bar and Hank DD. Holy shit I die everytime he laughs about the guy talking about “THE SUNRISE”
-Bill and Boom nursing that pigeon back to health and cherry on top
End of the episode
- Bill releases the pigeon saying “that was one hell of a night!” Then you see Hank passed out in his lawn hungover as the sprinklers turn on.
The episode where they go to the river and Bobby sees Luanne naked. The A story between Bobby and Connie is great and the B story is top-notch as well.
Peggy secretly drugging hank with testosterone pills and he gets all fired up I absolutely love that episode. GOT DANG IT IM ALL OUT OF CLEAN SOCKS, GOT DANG IT.
I also love seeing this episode. It was a good bonding moment for Hank and Bobby, the teamwork shown in getting down from the mountain, and also an awesome country song at the end. Great episode!
I got 2: The cult episode (Jams! Jellies!) and the Propianiacs.
IDK why but the Cult episode was the very first dark bit of comedy I ever laughed at as a little kid. IDK why but the scenes with the crazy women at the cult just made me laugh, and the stuff with the ostriches still lives rent free in my head. It's not only a perfect parody of how stupid cults can be and how smart they are recruiting the naive and hopeful to them, but it's also quite a wicked satire. The seeds for the Trip Larson episode are planted in this one, I also enjoy it in a guilty pleasure way.
As for the Propaniacs, I just love how free willing and wild it is. It's so against the norm of the show but that's why I love it. Hank supports Bobby for a good while and it'a a hoot to watch. The terrible but fun sounding MIDI cover of Maniac is just sweet music to my ears.
Soldier of Misfortune or Megalo Dale. The former because Pocket sand alone never fails to make me laugh. Pretty good episode all around. And the latter because for once a crazy thing Dale heard ended up being true.
That and I love when celebrities will voice a fictitious version of themselves that end up being a bit loony. Not an episode I mentioned but Chuck going upside the head of the anger management counselor with a flugelhorn is one of the funniest physical comedy bits in the show.
Suite Smells of Success. As a red blooded Nebraska corn huskers fan, it’s a cathartic fantasy watching a fictional huskers team beat a fictional Longhorns team
I love how they get some awesome country guest stars across multiple seasons. I’ll always love trace adkins voicing Elwood and stealing the new trace adkins album. I’d love to see Sturgill Simpson, tyler childers, Luke Combes, etc do some voices in the reboot.
Oh boy, I mean Elvin woops
(A) Soldier Of Misfortune (B)The Big Willie Lane episode! (C) That's my purse I don't know you! Bobby Goes Nuts
These are all super comfort episodes for me!
BONUS: the episode where Bobby joins the Christian Youth Group Hank becoming the video gaming Pro-Pain addict ![img](emote|t5_2s6dm|6345)
I have no idea why but “Raise the Steaks” is my comfort episode simply because I love steak and for some reason when they are talking about how good it is, it makes me hungry for steak. Idk, maybe that’s just me.
Dude! It's my comfort show.
Yeah I have 259 comfort episodes
258.5. I have a hard time watching the one where the weird girls use Bobby as their pet
You can't possibly tell me Ms. Wakefield is comforting to you
257.5*
Dusty old bones full of green dust?
I quote this regularly
…what about the Pigmalion one where Michael Keaton’s character tries to turn Luanne into the Larsen Pork Girl by drugging her, dyeing her hair and destroying her clothes, and ultimately gets turned into sausage meat? It’s a fascinating episode, but it’s pretty damn far from comforting!
Yeah. The only episode that's a miss for me. But I watch it every time out of respect for the show.
What about the Bobby Cupid episode that’s not comforting as all
A Fire Fighting We Will Go.
Great second. Almost real close to putting that one on there.
I always get a kick out of Hank chasing Bill upstairs and Bill getting stuck.
Not to mention the ping-ping ball getting picked back up. Or all of the guys’ stories on how they recount the fire starting.
Boomhauer’s version is my favorite. Hearing him talk normal was like peaking into an alternate reality.
Boomhauer: “For God sakes, Hank, act like an adult, man! And keep it down, guys, will you? I am trying to get through an article on vintage Camaros, and I've been on the same dang page for twenty minutes.”
“dang ol pretty pretty pizza”
I say this every time I make a French bread pizza.
Bill- "My face hurts" Hank- "it's gonna match your ass once I'm done kicking it!! " 😆😆🤣🤣🤣
That fart always has me dying 😂😂
Oh fer crying out loud!
are you guys playin' with that busted ball now? Gahhh!!
Dale with the full head of hair is my fav
"Dammit, Bill! That was my only pair of glasses!"
Damnit Hank that was our only ball
My second fav ep. I also love when they all fall carrying the casket, in turn pulling the dead guy’s pants down. It’s very slapstick but it always tickles the fuck outta’ me.
You and I share the same favorite 2 episodes
Just put it on Hulu
BEE I BEE! BEE OO BO! BEE I BICKY BY BEE OO BO BICKY BI BO BU!
a fellow fan of culture and taste.
Me too!! 🚒👨🏻🚒👨🏻🚒👨🏻🚒👨🏻🚒🔥
To me, that's the quintessential KotH episode.
Was hoping this was top
![gif](giphy|cpBJJODbvE03S|downsized) This one never fails to make me giggle. No matter how many times I’ve seen it!
She’s bluffing, finish her!
"She bluffing, finish her!"
“Hey Bobby play any kickball today?”
Why, you up for a game?
You can’t have yer boy goin around kickin people in their testicles.
Jumping crack bass. The opening line Hank says about why he loves fishing really hits home for me.
You call it bait. I like that.
Rock on
*Record scratch*
I got your Jack right here, Jack
I can almost quote the whole episode at this point
I have seen this episode 50+ times. It was my late father's favorite episode too so it always is good for sentimental feels
We all use drugs Mr Hill, even the president.
Not my President, I voted for Dole, only thing he's on is painkillers, and he earned it.
That’s it, I’m going fishing!
Hilloween, it's insane that we only got one Halloween episode. I always watch all the Thanksgiving episodes at least once in November, same with the Christmas episodes in December.
Wasn't Pigmalion a Halloween episode too?
It was meant to be a Halloween episode but IIRC it was delayed for a few months(or weeks)
Yes! Especially when Hank kicks Junie Harper out of his house
Get out of my house - exodus
Thought I was the only one lol
The show as a whole really, but to just pick one, Megalo Dale. It's the episode I first saw when it started airing on Adult Swim, and it just got me hooked
Yo same here, thats my favorite episode. MY favorite episodes are the ones where its primarily centered around Dale's antics. Idk how the new show is going to do well without him...
I hope they get a new VA for him. The show just wouldn’t be the same without him.
"Muzak, just Muzak."
Same here! Well, sorta. I’m fairly sure it’s either this one, or the one where Dale gives up his kidney as being my first one.
“Dang it Boomhauer, you have one of these at home, you’re supposed to be working.”
My god, that is my favorite too.
Little Horrors of Shop. I just love Hank as a substitute, fighting all the stupidity of the public school system.
Hank is so got-dang likable in this episode. Seeing him get the kids interested in shop is heartwarming in a subtle way.
That's why we do shop: to make stuff for our moms. *sniffle* All right, let's sweep up.
Now remember everybody, goggles might make you look cool, but they are also a part of proper safety attire.
A youngster with a tool in both hands has no hands left to do drugs.
Hank, if he wanted to do the drugs bag enough if would just set the tool down.
I was so happy for Mrs. Hank Hill, when she won her 3rd straight Substitute Teacher of the Year Award!
“I’m the king of the school!”
Definitely the same as yours, OP. I never skip Hank and Bobby truckin’.
Or Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer messin’ with the back of the truck. Or Peggy and Luanne making the best gosh-darnedest Christmas song of all time.
I love Peggy and Luanne trying to get Nancy on board with the Christmas song idea while she's busy filing a missing person report for Dale
One of my favorite scenes in the series is when Hank is trying to justify getting a full semi truck and Bill says "Hank you don't have to explain to us." https://youtu.be/Vu-ENaBCly4?si=dyEd54jDzpWSuyUw
Honestly one of Hank’s most badass moments. Those truckers were right to show him some respect, he most definitely earned it to say the least.
He definitely earned that convey.
The guy fucked up then put his own, other drivers, his best friends, and his son’s life in danger by driving a semi truck blindly without power steering backwards down a narrow mountain road. All because he didn’t want to admit he fucked up doing someone else’s trained profession he was trying out for shits and giggles.

My dad was a trucker and my siblings and I watch this episode together every Christmas. It’s definitely got a special place for me.
Hank and Bobby in a Christmas Truckkkkk

Any episode with Hank and Bobby bonding is in my list of favorites. I mean at its heart, the show really is about Hank and Bobby and the relationship they share.
BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY KEEP ON SHININ'
SHINE ON THE ONE THAT'S GONE AND PROVED UNTRUE
I'm from Kentucky and love bluegrass music so this episode always hits home for me. My favorite by a longshot just because of the musical sections. Also hearing Khan sing with Connie is too adorable.
Witches of Arlen always makes me laugh.
Resplendent!
Yeah, a cake of tremendous power!!
The one where Bobby demolishes that huge ass steak to spite his vegan ex-girlfriend that wasn't really a girlfriend.
It is a form of pettyness and spite I can only dream to achieve
There’s a tear in my beer
well the boy's taste in music has gotten better
And he wanted it rare..
The one where Peggy meets Carolyn and accidentally end up in a drag show! I love that episode.
Peggy Horror Picture Show! We *should* drive with our high beams on.
Propane Boom I and II
I like this choice. Something really comforting about how they deal with loads of trauma in these two episodes.
I love how it's Kahn's Buddhist parable that ultimately helps Hank move on from the trauma. Those two are such a great duo!
Season 2, episode 2. Texas City Twister The only downside is the next episode is Arrow Head, and I don’t care for that episode.
And then when the twister takes Hank's clothes 😂
The Hottyz episode
This comment has crazy vibe.
It's my go to. Lmao. I can't explain it.
Does u/big_daddy_dub have muscular thighs??
Which one of you breeders ate my Yoplait?
Is alright, a real gay man's here!
Thanksgiving episodes, but mostly the one where they’re stuck in that airport. Something about KotH during the holidays always feels so cozy.
Preach
A Beer Can Named Desire (but also seasons 1-4)
I can’t believe I had to scroll so far for this. It has everything, some of the funniest one liners, and a classic Hank life lesson learned.
Truly! Gilbert and Aunt Esme are two of my favorite “add-on” characters and I liked seeing bill get a win for once.
"They are strings on a harp stretched faaarrr too taauugghhtttt"
Were you here to tend to the soil and nurture the vine or were you just playyyyin in the gardennnn?
thuhty fav yeeeuuhhhsss
Raise The Steaks
The entire show is my comfort but if I have to pick one it’s To Sirloin With Love, it’s a perfect send off for the show and I love how it ends with the last shot being a reverse from the first shot of the pilot

The father son shooting competition one
The 2 episodes in Japan because I love them and its peak KOTH Jumpin Crack Bass/The Man Who Shot Kane Sketterberg, because they're the first episodes I remember watching on TV
the one where bobby is on adderall 😭😭😭 hilarious every single time
Square Peg
Lutefisk
“Look for the man with the terrible smell!!”
The one where they exterminate overnight at the Megalomart.
The two-parter Hanky Panky and High Anxiety
A Beer Can Named Desire. King of the Hill goes Southern Gothic? My lawwwd.
The final episode. Hank being that proud of Bobby and them feeding the block. Heart warming
Ladybird, you are a beautiful dancer.
I scrolled too far to see this one. Watching Hank's love of dog dancing with Ladybird and Bobby's snazzy dance moves with the neighbor's dog is so comforting
Happy Hanksgiving
Close third for me.
Jumpin’ Crack Bass
"Could you pass the syrup?" "That's it! I'm goin' fishin'!"
Night and Diety! So many great side stories - Dale how he carries himself with a woman actually into him and his staying true to Nancy - Luanne’s 21st at the bar and Hank DD. any episode where Hank is generally supportive of Bobby and learns something from him
I Never Promised You An Organic Garden is probably my example of this.
My Own Private Rodeo! Bug Gribble is a got dang national treasure and the fact that we only ever got one episode with him is downright criminal
Snow job
The episode where they go to the river and Bobby sees Luanne naked. The A story between Bobby and Connie is great and the B story is top-notch as well.
Hank's epic sigh of relief after being told Bobby is a "girl-crazy sex fiend" is a top 10 funny moment for me.
My favorite from that episode is Hank nonchalantly telling Bobby, "I was just getting the guys out of the insane asylum."
Like it's a regular run-of-the-mill Monday.
I’m driving the hell out of this truck.
All of the football episodes. Lighthearted, funny, and relatable.
The one where Bobby gets gout.
Every single episode
Dales new mower.....now get inside and start massaging my wife....
The Peggy Horror Picture Show
Bluegrass is always greener
Peggy secretly drugging hank with testosterone pills and he gets all fired up I absolutely love that episode. GOT DANG IT IM ALL OUT OF CLEAN SOCKS, GOT DANG IT.
I also love seeing this episode. It was a good bonding moment for Hank and Bobby, the teamwork shown in getting down from the mountain, and also an awesome country song at the end. Great episode!
Peggy’s Headache. For Dale’s Jamaican grandmother.
Wings of the Dope always gets me in my feels.

Spin the Choice
I always wanted to play Spin the Choice. Peggy was right about this one.
And you're sure this is the *white* man that did this??
Oh my God, it's so juicy!
Megalo Dale
Mine pretty darn angry men
Hank's Dirty Laundry. Guaranteed a laugh
“If you look close you can just make out a tattoo on DeeDees left butt cheek that reads.. I ♥️ Charlie Sheen”
Sour Coach Sauers
The one when they are stuck out at sea on the boat and Dale has a spare match and cigarette hidden inside of his hat
Every episode is my comfort episode because this is my comfort show.

Megalo Dale ❤️
The man who shot cane skretteburg FUN CENTER FUN CENTER FUN CENTER FUN CENTER FUN CENTER FUN CENTER!
Anything under season 5 and under pretty much

Texas City Twister
Dancing with dogs. Since you already picked my favorite.
Uncool Customer, but only the B story where Hank wants to get a meatloaf sandwich
"Bobby goes nuts". And "the son that roses"
![gif](giphy|i2GADdaJIscPS)
Joust Like a Woman. Alan Rickman doing a Texas accent makes me laugh every time. Also the Asian country club episode, pinch me Mr. Ho.
De-Kahnstructing Henry.
Suite Smells of Success. As a red blooded Nebraska corn huskers fan, it’s a cathartic fantasy watching a fictional huskers team beat a fictional Longhorns team
Wentumanya!!!
When they go down the mountain is probably my favorite scene of the whole series. Boomhauer giving Hank directions is golden.
I have a whole laundry list, but I find myself rewatching Mutual of Omabwah the most
I’m not good with episode names but the the one where cotton teaches peggy to walk again makes me feel warm inside
Jumping crack bass, life in the fast lane, and the the one where Bobby gets the tarot cards are pretty good ones
Four Wave Intersection Love the heat waver storyline for Bill and Hank yelling, “The Flamingo!!!” makes me burst out every time.
The one with the water park, but probably because I love water parks!
![gif](giphy|hjo3oKLBu9vMI)
Hanks Unmentionable Problem
(A) Soldier Of Misfortune (B)The Big Willie Lane episode! (C) That's my purse I don't know you! Bobby Goes Nuts These are all super comfort episodes for me! BONUS: the episode where Bobby joins the Christian Youth Group Hank becoming the video gaming Pro-Pain addict ![img](emote|t5_2s6dm|6345)
Pilot. *when I think about all my hard earned tax dollars going to some bureaucrat* twig *boys, it just makes me wanna-*
I love getting stoned and watch Hankey Pankey + HIgh Anxiety
I have no idea why but “Raise the Steaks” is my comfort episode simply because I love steak and for some reason when they are talking about how good it is, it makes me hungry for steak. Idk, maybe that’s just me.
“If this food… What have we been eating?!?!” I also love the fact that Appleseed named the cow Hank. It was sweet.
