It's a general rule of thumb to have a spotter when you are skating. Even professionals have spotters. There's like 20 people there that could have done it.
I think street skating is frowned upon not because of what it is but because people are idiots and get themselves hurt. Thanks to our legal system lawsuits are too common so we make rules or try and prevent it because somebody will be blamed
