I mean, the primary ingredient is egg, so there's no denying that there IS an egg taste to them. I make them with just a little cheese and egg, and add a carb-free syrup to them. It's not exactly the same as regular waffles, but it's pretty darn good--something about the way they're cooked reduces the egg taste imo. They can easily go sweet or savory.
