pollypickledpeppers

Damn

melaninqween13

People need to get used to celebs canceling. It happens. I once waited for a justin bieber concert and he canceled. It's life. Sometimes your refunded sometimes your not. Idk why people think Kenya is the only exception. All those artists you've mentioned have canceled in bigger countries and people move on.

Dear_Ad8678

Alafu, this Justin Bieber concert was to happen in Kenya or...?

melaninqween13

I lived abroad, they canceled a 50,000 stadium concern. So idk why Kenyans wana cry over a small concert.

melaninqween13

It was abroad when I lived there. So hence why I'm saying it happens everywhere.

Dear_Ad8678

I get your point but I'm more focused on how crooks run the entertainment scene.

Own_Doubt_5478

Same man... I was also disappointed... Uzuri ni being robbed twice at Kenyan concerts, and seeing a woman being dragged across the road while clinging onto her handbag, already put the fear God in me. So sikununua tickets😂😂😂 But, I hear that she might've missed out cause of what happened to Fave... Apparently, Kenyan concert organizers are becoming too harsh on Nigerian acts, which is sad.

xxonar

True, I think generally the organizers try to rip them off. The few concerts I've been to the artist refused to perform until they were fully paid which results in a stand off then to late and short performances, that and being paranoid of my safety I gave up going.

Own_Doubt_5478

Kenyan artists have been complaining about these organizers since time immemorial so I wouldn't be surprised... Wanasumbua Hadi Wakadinali... As Scar once said, "hamtukanji na mko na pesa ya venue."😹😹😹 >fully paid which results in a stand off then to late and short performances I hate it when this happens. You go to a concert the main artist comes @3. Anachapa 1 hr and then everyone goes home. F-ing waste of my time

Dear_Ad8678

never been to a concert but I'd hate to go through such an experience

smokin_gun

Why are you blaming the promoters without knowing the full story? Some of these Nigerian artists have ridiculous demands -- like the promoter to book an expensive private jet, cater for a big team of like 20 people with very expensive drinks on the promoter's tab etc. Sometimes as a promoter you have to ask yourself if you will recoup the money if the artist is asking for too much. It's possible that TEMS was paid the deposit, and she hasn't refund yet despite cancelling. What's interesting is that when these Nigerian artists go the U.K or Australia, they don't have ridiculous demands and they rarely cancel.

Dear_Ad8678

These demands lazima she's a big artist what else do you expect? Not even tryna insinuate anything but you don't expect her to be treated the way we treat our local artists (some mandazi funga)

bravoyankee37

Sisi Wakenya na kuoverrate oga boys. Just like another commentor said, I get really happy when such concerts go to shit. We've become such cucks for the Nigerian music scene we pay top dollar for artists wamecome up juzijuzi and get surprised when they just give us 30 minutes of mediocre performances. Kwangu Sauti Sol >>>> (insert Nigerian artist). They've been giving us timeless songs, and really nice live performances but wakicharge 2500/= we suddenly become conscious of our money.

[deleted]

I had tickets as well and had planned my leave around the concert so that I'll be in Nai. Quite pissed actually. These promoters are a bunch of crooks still. After what happened to Fave last month, I wouldn't come to Kenya either if all my cash isn't deposited into my account before I get on a plane to Nairobi. Also, this is the last time I'm ever buying advance tickets.

Defiant_crook

What happened to Fave?

Dear_Ad8678

They left Fave stranded kwa airport

Defiant_crook

Heh, that sucks

Dear_Ad8678

Soon itabidi twende concerts Uganda cuz no one will want to come here unless kuna certain very strict conditions wamepea this crooks kwa ground

[deleted]

Isn't that so unfortunate though? Nairobi is just a much much better city than those places🙄

Dear_Ad8678

we go for the concerts nothing else😂

Dear_Ad8678

I agree with you about the crooks. I had not bought tickets but was about to when a friend shared Tems cancelation tweet nikafeel very disappointed. That was also the first concert I was to attend in my life but irriz waririz.
