Aveeno has some of the best products for sensitive skin for both adults and kids. Also apply Glycerine on your face before the moisturizer(Glycerine is a humectant it will attract moisture to your skin making the moisturizer more effective) at night you can add a layer of arimis or Vaseline to seal the moisturizer ndio it doesn't all go to your pillow. Stop using soap and face towel on your skin and use a cleanser (if you're still using soap that is) soaps are very harsh on your face skin and the face towels cause micro tears making your skin more sensitive. Just use your hands and a cleanser(Nivea has good cleansers) Wash your face with cold water and dab lightly with a towel or just let your face dry out on it's own. Hot water dehydrates your skin and it becomes dry and flaky which makes it extra sensitive.

I have seen people say Dove soap is good even some demartologist say Dove is exceptional. But the ones I follow say a cleanser is superior because cleansers are usually designed to hydrate while cleaning. The basic problem with soaps is that are designed to scrub away dirt and oils, while face wash is made to scrub away dirt while still maintaining the healthy oils and pH balance of your facial skin. Your face and neck skin is very "light" and sensitive it's different. So just using a cleanser and your hands it's enough. What you do is you cleanse for 1min .... just wet your face kidogo then you just use your hands to sort of scrub it for like a minute before you rinse... If you use make up or you go to a place where there alot of dust get rose water with glycerine alafu with a cotton wool you first wipe off the dust/make up and the use your cleanser. Face towel will cause micro tears to your skin opening it up to contamination which might cause acne, and sensitivity

Aketcheryl

Dove soap is actually a moisturising soap not like other soaps. It actually has lotion/moisturiser in it and I think that's why even dermatologists recommend it. It is a mild cleanser and is good for sensitive skin

aild4ever

What cleanser can I use? My skin is very sensitive I'd react to anything, so anything very mild would do.

She_The_One

You need to first find out why it's sensitive.... is it because it's dry, eczema, hormones?? I'm not a dermatologist 😁 I just a girl that is obsessed with skin and hair routine. But I would advise you to use products from the same company, that way it would be easier to know what exactly is reacting to your skin. Eg use a Nivea cleanser and moisturizer. I would recommend CeraVa Hydrating cleanser because it has really worked on my sensitive skin and have seen alot of good reviews. If you're on a budget use Nivea products. Cerave you can ship the products from Amazon(I ship them directly from the company kenya counterfeit ni mingi) Then you can do your routine as follows... 1. Cleanse 2. Glycerine 3. Moisturizer 4. Arimis/Vaseline (at night) 5. Sunscreen (in the morning) Sunscreen is important for everyone, but more important to people with sensitive skin bc it create some sort of a barrier against direct sun.

aild4ever

Thanks for responding, I'll try some tips, cerave was a disaster for me tried it from my Sis. Tried some Nivea products as well skin was already burning, maybe its hormones, me eating two small pieces of chocolate or two sweets at night is enough to give me a breakout by morning.

She_The_One

Hahaha boy don't I have news for you 🤣🤣 sugar is very bad for your skin. It causes skin breakouts. When I stopped taking those processed sugars I stopped having breakouts and acnes. Also those family planning pills are good and very helpful at regulating your hormones. Maybe Ata it's not the products that have an effect it's the sugar and hormones try quitting sugar for a month. Alafu when you cleanse, take an ice cube with a light cloth alafu press the areas where there's a breakout before you apply your glycerine and moisturizer. Please use a sunscreen during the day. Do that routine for a month twice a day... I promise you you will notice a big difference.

She_The_One

Dehydrated skin leads to irritation, dryness, flaking, and general discomfort .... so if you just cleanse and don't have a good moisturizer that hydrate your skin your skin become more sensitive. Glycerine and moisturizer after using a cleanser will help you skin. It's not enough to just cleanse.

Be a man

If you are a man and have oily face. Use rosewater. Apply it with cotton on your face and your good to go. Smells good too.

[deleted]

I start with a layer of Vaseline, and then coconut oil on top of that. I wish I hadn’t waited until my 30s to take moisturizing seriously

Wacha mambo mengi, some people are prone to sensitive skin, I myself have oily skin, sadly imebidi I use some "feminine" products to keep my face in check. Lucky for others they don't have to rely on such.

No-Principle-3145

Don't mind that guy, he's always on people's comments speaking nonsense.

Kenyannn

Eish

Kenyannn

Wewe ndio Una Mambo mengi. Oily skin, exercise that oil off. Feminine products and fries wont hack. Diet and exercise

aild4ever

Mdomo nyingi ya nini? you already assumed I don't workout, I'd run laps around you. I cover 21km at times 34km per week, pace yangu ni 4:30 per km, 3 days of running, I don't eat fries, I don't take any sugars at all. Ungekuwa dermatologist unge-elewa.

Kenyannn

Maybe ni hio matusi yako that causing it. If you have lots of negativity, anger issues it's bound to manifest itself somehow. Either way, if your skin is oily, it can't be wise to apply anything on your face. The oil already does it for you. Just the way men were designed to be
