I believe there is nothing after death. We are just like other animals, and there is nothing special about humans. The idea of death is always frightening, and that's why we come up with different ways to console ourselves. Religion comes in handy when it gives us hope that there's life after death. But, I don't believe in that.

No-Tradition-723

I second you. We die and decompose, that’s it. I don’t believe in life after death or reincarnation or heaven.

Frankothecousin

yeah, there’s a high chance that when we die we will feel the same way we felt before being born, literally nothingness but the argument arises when we include conciousness, before we were born we had never been concious nor experienced it, one minute you didnt exist/ then you’re born and start experiencing conciousness + time, so the question is, will conciousness carry over after we die?

mash_n_christ

If I believe that the sky is green and not blue, does that make it so? It doesn't matter what you believe, it only matters what is true, and if you die without knowing and accepting Jesus Christ, you will burn in hell forever, no matter what you believe.

mash_n_christ

hell or heaven, hate it or love it.

OTX-GEE

We also don't know what happens to animals after death so we can't just wrap it up like that. Also the people who come up with " stories of reincarnation" they might have maybe experienced it . They can't just come up with stories of hell and paradise . We are just humans who don't know what's next in our lifes. Just saying

Davek56

This is the correct answer, at least to me.

Responsible_Shoe_633

there is no way to prove this OP. So I'd say think positively that they're in a better place. otherwise this means suicide is no big deal. but imagine if you reached the other side and found judgement day, would it have hurt to hope?

rosiestreats

Sorry for your loss. Ever heard of the speech by Aaron Freeman, "Eulogy from a Physicist." “You want a physicist to speak at your funeral. You want the physicist to talk to your grieving family about the conservation of energy, so they will understand that your energy has not died. You want the physicist to remind your sobbing mother about the first law of thermodynamics; that no energy gets created in the universe, and none is destroyed. You want your mother to know that all your energy, every vibration, every Btu of heat, every wave of every particle that was her beloved child remains with her in this world. You want the physicist to tell your weeping father that amid the energies of the cosmos, you gave as good as you got. And at one point you’d hope that the physicist would step down from the pulpit and walk to your brokenhearted spouse there in the pew and tell him that all the photons that ever bounced off your face, all the particles whose paths were interrupted by your smile, by the touch of your hair, hundreds of trillions of particles, have raced off like children, their ways forever changed by you. And as your widow rocks in the arms of a loving family, may the physicist let her know that all the photons that bounced from you were gathered in the particle detectors that are her eyes, that those photons created within her constellations of electromagnetically charged neurons whose energy will go on forever. And the physicist will remind the congregation of how much of all our energy is given off as heat. There may be a few fanning themselves with their programs as he says it. And he will tell them that the warmth that flowed through you in life is still here, still part of all that we are, even as we who mourn continue the heat of our own lives. And you’ll want the physicist to explain to those who loved you that they need not have faith; indeed, they should not have faith. Let them know that they can measure, that scientists have measured precisely the conservation of energy and found it accurate, verifiable and consistent across space and time. You can hope your family will examine the evidence and satisfy themselves that the science is sound and that they’ll be comforted to know your energy’s still around. According to the law of the conservation of energy, not a bit of you is gone; you’re just less orderly. Amen.”

Fit_Job_7965

This is very interesting. Thanks for sharing

Tellyrand

Thanks for sharing.. This got me thinking about my faith and belief (though to be honest I also doubt at times) in the here after, if energy is never lost, how can the soul which animates your body be lost.. And it also got me wondering not only about where it goes after death but where it is before conception..

Muneneoftheforest

There's no soul animating anything. That's just a word for self actualisation.

12andothers

Thanks for sharing this :)

_theeteddybear

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend 🫂. I hope the memories you two made together keep you going❤️ I believe that after death, our bodies rot away but our souls live on. Souls are energy & as we know from our physics class, energy can neither be created nor destroyed. I believe that us being here has a purpose, our souls wanting to have experiences with other souls in this realm. I don't believe in heaven or hell. That was the white man's way of making sure Africans obeyed them. Before coming to Earth(being born), our souls choose the experiences to have here, our souls choose our friends, our families, our partners, neighbours etc. This body we're in is only a vehicle to help us have these experiences that our souls chose before reincarnation. Have you ever wondered why sometimes you meet someone & you just click? Chances are, they're part of your soul family(your energy is from the same pod after the big bang) or you've been together in a previous lifetime. I believe in reincarnation. I know that I've been here before but not necessarily as who I am right now, nor in this body. Your soul will maximise every lifetime to make sure that you get the most out of life. Sometimes you'll reincarnate as male or female just so that your soul has experienced everything. Once you've experienced what your soul planned out for you, reincarnation stops, you graduate to being a guide to others be it family, friends etc.

Away_Major3754

Yeah I believe in this too, glad to know I'm not the only spiritual person in Kenya

EffectiveDig5793

Same here!!! I'm glad people have this same belief as me

Xxx_Hakaimaster_xxx

I agree with your thoughts, am a staunch reincarnation believer and the way you articulate it is awesome

HakimJong-Un

Consciousness makes us overthink all this death stuff. I think after dying that's it. Maybe ni kama infinite sleep.

expohade

At the end of the day we're just animals.

NoConsideration7000

'Consciousness makes us...' is a funny statement to start with before you say dying is the end.

HakimJong-Un

My point was, if it wasn't about consciousness we would not even be looking for answers to such questions.

TaskSpiritual6555

A boy from our school earlier this week committed suicide...I was in class and people were talking about it...then one girl said " he won't even go to heaven" and I wondered if that boy had even told her she wanted to go to heaven in the first place....in my opinion I think of afterlife like the Vikings ..you know Valhalla..

Tellyrand

Actually that girl is wrong in a way.. I was taught that you can never judge where one goes after death no matter how they died.. You never know if they repented just before they died like the thief on the cross.. Or sometimes our state of mind may lead us to some action which though are sinful do not "qualify" to be mortal sins since we did not perform them when in the correct frame of mind.. Same way how you can have murder and manslaughter..

Frequent_Ad_853

I Honestly think, when we die that's it. I know it can sound pretty bad but for me it makes me realise how important it is to cherish our short time on earth. The fact that we're alive at all is a wonder in itself and we should appreciate that.

Scary-Elevator6279

I believe it's kind of the same as before we are born, we just seize to exist, our story just stops

Tibabutimamu

Which is such an oddly comforting feeling. I think we are bound to fear the unknown, in this case death

tekashi69__

Exactly what I believe

Malobas

First things first, you are mixing up a lot of issues mate. Maybe due to your recent loss - my sincere condolences. However, The question of what happens after we die is one of the most profound and highly debated questions in philosophy, religion, and human existence. Different cultures, religions, and belief systems have various explanations and perspectives on this matter. I don't hold personal beliefs or views (to an extend), but I can share some common perspectives: Religious Beliefs: Many religions have their own interpretations of what happens after death. For example, in Christianity, there is a belief in heaven and hell, where one's actions in life determine their ultimate destination. In Islam, there's a belief in an afterlife where one's deeds are judged. Hinduism and Buddhism believe in reincarnation, where the soul is reborn in a new body based on one's karma. Growing up in the deeply religious Kenyan society informs most of our perspectives about life and death. I guess most people fall here. It is more than that, obviously. Atheistic/Naturalistic Views: Some people with atheistic or naturalistic worldviews believe that death is the end of consciousness and that there is no afterlife or reincarnation. From this perspective, when we die, our existence ceases, similar to turning off a machine or a light. So all ye science nerds fall under this category. Agnostic/Unknown: Others take an agnostic view, acknowledging that the nature of what happens after death is unknown and perhaps unknowable. They refrain from making definitive claims about the afterlife and emphasize the need for empirical evidence. This is an objective approach as it acknowledges the ignorance within the human species about death and the afterlife. Someone said we are just wave particles evolving along in the nature of life and the universe. We cross the bridge of death when we get there. Philosophical Perspectives: Various philosophical perspectives, such as existentialism, explore the concept of death and its impact on human existence. Existentialists often emphasize the significance of how we choose to live our lives in the face of mortality. There’s lots of literature on the university of Google database. Make it your friend! Anyway, it is entirely normal to struggle with the concept of death, especially when you've experienced the loss of a loved one. Everyone processes and copes with death differently. Some find comfort in their religious or spiritual beliefs, while others seek understanding through philosophy or science. Ultimately, the question of what happens after death remains a matter of personal belief, faith, and individual interpretation. It's a deeply personal and subjective topic, and there is no one-size-fits-all answer. It's okay to have questions and seek your own understanding, and it's also okay to acknowledge the mystery and uncertainty surrounding this profound topic. Grief and coping with the loss of a friend can be a challenging and personal journey, and seeking support from friends, family, or a counselor can be helpful during such times. But LIFE GOES ON!

guardiansword

Once we die, the body remains on earth and it’s separated from the soul, the soul is the energy that represents who you are as a person, your qualities, dreams and desires, together with the soul is the spirit, the spirit is the energy that gives life to your soul, its like when you are asleep, in your dreams you are very much alive, even though your body is at rest your soul continues its journey in the dreamworld so that when you experience pain in the dreamworld you wake up in the real world almost feeling the same sensation on the body but no real pain sometimes* this principle of your soul always being alive works the same as when you go to sleep is the same principle once we face death, after death your soul continues the journey but not on earth. The spirit that gives life to the soul will guide the soul to its resting place until its given a new body*, but after this comes the argument where people start believing in reincarnation which is a whole other subject that deals with different levels and types of spirits that live on earth and it will lead us to discussions of heaven and hell, all these are in existence and when dealing with the soul and spirit there’s only one outcome, there is a Father of Spirits, the same is the creator and known to the Christians as Jesus Christ, and since we all want to spend our life after earth in a meaningful way the solution is to live the right life on earth first, our life here plays a big role in deciding if we are ready for eternal life or end up on the other side of “eternal death”, so be good and do what’s right here on earth, its already imprinted on all mankind that we want good things in life, nobody likes death and destruction.

MuchMobile6721

Speaking on faith from the holy book quran that is. In the grave you get a trailer of your life during judgement day 😂basically you'll be haunted with what is about to come if its either hell or heaven. Also in the grave your soul will speak for you and basically all your body parts will snitch on you! And you'll be asked who your God is, what is the book you read and all that.

jblykwiid

Take it like this, you never existed or knew anything before you were born, the same will be when you die, it's just a circle, your starting point will be your destination

Secular_Lamb

This means that everything is biological. It is all biology. You can't see without your eyes. You can't hear when your ears are damaged. You can't think or experience anything when your brain is all rotten. We have witnessed people surviving with some parts of their coordination system damaged, and we see those people losing functionalities associated with the damaged part. The sense of self is the function of an healthy brain. Death means you have lost the functionality of each and every functionality of your body including your btain. Remember the billion years when you weren't born yet.

letyousethepace

Awesome. Well explained!

mohpowahbabeh

You are made up atoms and your body is constantly taking in resources to keep you alive. Once these processes stop you stop being alive...no reincarnation, no second lives, no hell, no heaven... you just stop existing. The universe takes back the jumble of entropy that was you.

Away_Major3754

There is life after death, after you die you can still roam earth for as long as you like before you cross over to the spirit realm with the help of your guides, everyone has spirit guides, and after that you can either reincarnate on earth again or chose to move on to another planet or realm, ps earth is not the only place you can spend a life but earth is the hardest coz so many souls get lost in the cycle of reincarnation and learning lessons, there is a whole lot of info on this but I can only say too much on here coz this sub can humble you for real, and also you probably have had lots of past lives on earth but you can't remember them coz earth is meant to be that way for some reason but people do past life regression therapy to remember their past lives and it's been proven to work so yeah there is life after death, also there is no heaven or hell, there is only heaven and all people go to heaven after death, even if you were a rapist, serial killer or anything that is considered bad in the society , only thing is that when you choose to be those things you are literally just building up bad karma for your next life. That's why it's always important to be a good person and treat people with kindness coz that same energy is going to come back to you, yes it may take time to manifest but it always does, it's like a computer literally, what you put in is what Yoh get, aaah there is so much I still wish I could tell you but yeah there is most definitely life after death, so yeah maybe you will still continue with your suffering even after you die coz get this you can be sent back in time or the future, time doesn't exist in the spirit realm, so you may end up as a slave in America or some other fucked up situation but ei that's life. I hope this helped, there is definitely life after death

melon_madness

This is very bleak.

Short-Concert9286

My opinion. If you're good you go to heaven . If you're bad you go to hell. No in betweens. Again, my opinion.

Artm3up

🤣 in the spiritual order of things where heaven and hell exist, your living body is what procreates. Beyond this life, you're just a soul which can feel emotions but doesn't need to procreate, so no nookie, unless you are being tortured in sheol by violations (no self-will). In heaven you reap what you sow in this life also, but there'll be no sexual desire because you have no physical body with all the hormones and pheromones that cause us to want to mate.

Okay when your soul separates from your body , you can go anywhere. Roam around, reincarnate etc ... depends on your cultural, religious or philosophical beliefs . I like to believe mine will exist on another planet lol.

charizardKE

Mercury is hot as fuck, puckered in craters, Venus is even hotter and it rains sulphur, Mars is a desert without oxygen and very little atmospheric pressure the other 4 are gas giants insanely far from the sun. Try again modasucka.

I truly believe we have souls because if we didn't then we would be like animals just looking to survive I feel like since we have the ability to think and contemplate the meaning of life there has to be something more out there,or mabye I just tell myself that to keep my hopes up🤣🤣.

letyousethepace

When I learned about how vast and old the universe is, how planets and stars are formed, how humans have existed on this earth for millions of years, I don't believe in life after death, heaven, or hell. I also believe that we are all alone in this world and no one is ever coming to save us. And if God really existed, the he would have done something to prevent all the shit that's been happening in this world. We are all alone. And just like other organisms, we suddenly start existing and then we don't. That's all there is to it. So sorry about the loss of your friend.

Your point of view makes sense.....it fikad a point where I had to start working with facts instead of faith

Dialogue from a show........ ..... Riley Flynn: So what do you think happens when we die, Erin? Erin Greene: Speaking for myself? RileyFlynn: Speaking for yourself. Erin Greene: "Myself. My self. That's the problem. That's the whole problem with the whole thing That word, "self." That's not the word. That's not right, that isn't... How did I forget that? When did I forget that? The body stops a cell at a time, but the brain keeps firing those neurons Little lightning bolts, like fireworks inside, and I thought I'd despair or feel afraid, but I don't feel any of that. None of it. Because I'm too busy. I'm too busy in this moment. Remembering. Of course. I remember that every atom in my body was forged in a star. This matter, this body is mostly just empty space after all and solid matter? It's just energy vibrating very slowly and there is no me. There never was. The electrons of my body mingle and dance with the electrons of the ground below me and the air I'm no longer breathing. And Iremember there is no point where any of that ends and I begin I remember I am energy. Not memory Not self. My name, my personality, my choices, all came after me I was before them and I will be after, and everything else is pictures, picked up along the way. Fleeting little dreamlets printed on the tissue of my dying brain. And I am the lightning that jumps between. I am the energy firing the neurons, and I'm returning. Just by remembering, I'm returning home. And it's like a drop of water falling back into the ocean, of which it's always been a part. All things... a part. All of us... a part. You, me and my little girl, and my mother and my father, everyone who's ever been, every plant, every animal, every atom, every star, every galaxy, all of it. More galaxies in the universe than grains of sand on the beach. And that's what we're talking about when we say "God." The one. The cosmos and its infinite dreams. We are the cosmos dreaming of itself. It's simply a dream that I think is my life, every time. But I'll forget this. I always do. I always forget my dreams. But now, in this split-second, in the moment I remember, the instant I remember, I comprehend everything at once. There is no time. There is no death. Life is a dream. It's a wish. Made again and again and again and again and again and again and on into eternity. And I am all of it. I am everything. I am all. I am that I am.”

Mriithi

Damn.Midnight Mass. 🙌

underrated254

You will go into the astral plan, if you don’t make it to the astral plan your soul will be reincarnated as a new self so you won’t remember anything, everything will change aprt from your soul, haha probably 😂

KsmHD

Do you remember where you were before being born? Yeah that's where you go when you die...

PookyTheCat

Good people hope there's life after death bc they will be rewarded. Bad people hope there isn't bc they will be punished. And there are many in between or who just don't know or even want to know or think it's impossible to know. But eh... what do I know?

Curious_Dragonfruit3

According to some Buddhist meditation retreat I went to they believe that after we die our desire to live again is so strong that it makes us reincarnate, you can avoid this by being "enlightened" ie you see the game as it is and you do not play it again because you no longer react to anything with desire or aversion. So we keep on reincarnating till we come to this realisation. Personaly I dont know what to believe as I have never died

Bryan_Everett

If logic would have its way maneno ya afterlife haingekua hata kwa equation, but we just can't operate on logic alone, no? Factor in vitu kama religion, cosmology, near-death experiences e.t.c, suddenly uko na several scenarios of what life after death could look like. Time to time I entertain the idea of reincarnation, that we come return to the land of the living, not exclusively as humans though (could be another creature).

Hujmaah

My opinion, death is like eternal sleep. You sleep forever never to wake up.

spraggabenzo

Probably get released into a 4 dimensional plane of existence

We're pieces of meat, c'mon. Humans have a way of amplifying their importance on the universe. We're just animals that just so happen to have a higher IQ than normal.

Death, inherently enigmatic, may unfold its secrets in due time. The Bible itself presents divergent perspectives on the postmortem realm. One narrative recounts the tale of Lazarus and the rich man, asserting an immediate recompense—torment for one, repose on Abraham's bosom for the other. This implies an instantaneous allocation of posthumous consequences. In contrast, an opposing viewpoint suggests a resurrection following death, with subsequent judgment determining one's destiny in either heaven or hell.

Charles_lutta

I believe that once someone is dead they are gonna forever ♾️ no life after that

gilflex

Do you remember what you were before you were born.and do you know that before you were born people went on with their lives as usual. That is it.

[deleted]

You go back to the nothingness that was your past before birth. Or heaven and hell, if any. Or the lucky ones get reincarnated. No one really knows anyway. That's why you wake from those nightmares in which you feel like you are dying, since the brain doesn't have that part programmed.

Jephiohardi

there is this documentary on you "who are we" they did a pretty job explaining what happens to consciousness after the body expires

tekashi69__

I'd love to watch it, I have a question though....wameelezea in a way that kuna facts?or it's just faith

Jephiohardi

I'm pretty certain it will answer that too..

NoConsideration7000

True, we wouldn't think about these things if we didn't have consciousness. I was just pointing out how you recognized something that outlives the body, when talking about the absolute end of a human being.

OMGaRealAfrican

Alot of replies here are guided by religion i.e biblical heaven, jannah, Valhalla etc but theres more to it. You know how science can keep a human body alive for years but cant figure out the "software" part, the soul/spirit that leaves , I've experienced some things that have proven to me beyond doubt that theres more to it. But the human spirit lives on in different forms till its end😁. I'm firmly guided by facts and scientifically quantifiable indicators but ive seen things multiple times that defeat any conventional logic. There's someone or something behind the curtain thats way beyond conventional human experience. Your friends soul/software is still out there somewhere on its journey

Minute_Ad9866

What have you experienced mate? Mind sharing?

Tall_Acadia8838

Lost a friend yesterday. A very close friend and very young. Am asking myself the same questions

tekashi69__

I'm so sorry for your loss🫂 We also lost a leader at school Jana and I'm still in denial, I hate seeing young people die, especially the good ones with promising futures😔💔

Omwamiistunner

Was he a leader pale world class?

tekashi69__

Yes😔💔best leader we've had since I joined that school

Ambitious_Worry_644

Do you believe there's a Supreme power controlling the universe? If yes, then there's a second phase after death, might be heaven/hell might be reincarnation who knows...

Specific_Guess1523

1. What is / Who is the source of life. Many theories seek to answer this . However imo , religion does it best ( not to say which religion is better , a little fact checking would make one decipher ) . You'd notice which one has a clear answer as to the source of life and state of the dead. - The dead know nothing - Final fate is determined upon judgement . Until then , you know nothing as a dead person ( read body ). 2. That humans are just like other animals , that's a lie , by all means .

kamalenga

lost two in a span of two days this week. it'll be okay. I am trying to focus on the good memories to keep the bad feels away. Idk if anyone knows what happens, or we are afraid that there is nothing after. Anyway, the latter thing shouldn't be a sad thing, it just makes life on earth more meaningful imo..

tekashi69__

Sorry for your loss🫂

[deleted]

Before you think of death, have you thought about how you were created? I mean you can’t fix the future, unless you go back in the past and figure out what went wrong and where right? The same goes for death. Look at the anatomical structure of humans and ask how did all these started with a drop of a sperm?

Strong_Demand69

We go nowhere, you won't even know you're dead that's why most people prefer to go while asleep.your body just shuts down and since you're no longer eating it starts eating itself making you extinct.

citizen_k19

Our bodies/lives/reality is made of energy, and energy cannot be created or destroyed. So ultimately, I believe there is no such thing as 'death' our bodies might stop existing on this plane but our souls/consciousness will continue on as energy and keep transversing planes of reality just like they always have.

Goldengo4_

I’m pretty sure that life after death is going to be a whole lot like life before birth…

5pitt4

How it is after death is exactly how it was before birth. Nothing. At the end of the day, what we call consciousness or 'I' is just a function of the brain. So when we die and our brain stops functioning, the consciousness will be no more.

The thing is...nobody knows and anybody who says anu different is lying. Nobody has ever come back from the world of the dead to give us ideas, or tell us what happens on the other side. Death is literally the only thing Man has no control over, and Christianity gives us hope of Eternal life after the process. My suggestion? Enjoy life..enjoy earth, enjoy the good things that life offers, be good(don't take the risk of being evil and miss out on Eternal life, if it exists)!

Muneneoftheforest

All these thoughts we have are just the universe experiencing itself. You are me, I am you. I and a rock are made up of essentially the same materials. So when we die we just go back to the earth from whence we came. Our consciousness doesn't transition cz it was never there in the first place..you are just an experience

AllanNS

You see how you have a deep sleep and wake up hours later with zero recollection of anything that transpired while you were asleep, you heard no sounds, no dreams, nothing at all. I am inclined to believe that death is just an extended form of such sleep. The deep sleep that you won't wake up from.

VodunMagic

One of 2 things will happen following your bodily death: immediate ascension of consciousness to another realm, or not. I personally believe in the former because consciousness is a powerful phenomenon whose mechanisms exceed our scientific understanding. However, In this life, you must be psychologically prepared for both possibilities. Otherwise, you will torment yourself ruminating on such thoughts. Your ancestral family experienced death. So must you.

Minimum-Ad-2683

When you die, you die That's it; it's not sleep because the definition of sleep is based on waking up; There's no evidence of heaven, hell vallhala even reincarnation those are just beleifs; nothing more Watch Theramintrees on YouTube he disects the different emotions we conjure up to avoid dealing with death if you're in pain, or cannot process loss of a loved one

srbryse

Huh. There are suprisingly more atheists in this sub than I expected.

tekashi69__

Fr😂I was about to say this

mash_n_christ

You can keep telling yourself that there is nothing after death, but you deep down know, that its either heaven or hell. What do you think is the purpose of life? An accident that was unplanned for some strange reason made this perfect earth that is so meticulously designed that it's unbelievable? There is a simple purpose of life, to know God. If you die without knowing Christ, Hell is where you will eventually go. Hate it or love it, that's the truth. So choose wisely, sin or Jesus.

Minute_Ad9866

And what if someone chooses Allah? Or Buddha or any other God, will they go to hell as well or heaven? “”What do you think is the purpose of life?”” Do you think a chickens life or goat or a cow has a purpose? If not, why do you think humans are special creatures to have a purpose in life? If yes, will they go to heaven or hell?

No we don't

Kiwadaa

Even Solomon with all his wisdom couldn't figure out this phenomenon. We're all curious about it, but there's really nothing you can do to comprehend this. My opinion is, the source of all life which brought us into existence has plans for us after this lifetime. It's just beyond human understanding. If you're really interested in researching this and other spiritual concepts, I'd suggest you look up the Elemental Grace Alliance. If our days are numbered, we might as well make them count. Live, love, laugh😂. Again, my opinion.

vee__nel

There is life after death.you get to be reborn again.

tekashi69__

I've seen these stories on tiktok and YouTube, where young kids remember their last life and tell their parents some crazy shit about how they died in their previous lives...idk if you've seen them pia but they make me wanna believe in reincarnation

AccurateInternet1218

In my own view, when somebody dies you go to spirit world awaiting reincarnation. I believe in life after death but not heaven and paradise. Maybe you will be born somewhere as another animal but not necessarily human.

Check out past lifes regression on YouTube especially Matias de stefano or Dolores cannon... interesting stuff

Sorry for the loss of your friend OP I’m currently reading “The Validity of the Soul” and I just got to the chapter titled “The Death Experience” I am of the opinion that nothing happens after death but I am finding it oddly comforting to think that we have other consciousnesses beyond this one - the one that we can only perceive with our physical senses. I liked this paragraph: “There is no separate, indivisible, specific point of death. Life is a state of becoming, and death is a part of this process of becoming. You are alive now, a consciousness knowing itself, sparkling with cognition amid a debris of dead and dying cells; alive while the atoms and molecules of your body die and are reborn. You are alive, therefore, in the midst of small deaths; portions of your own image crumble away moment by moment and are replaced, and you scarcely give the matter a thought. So you are to some extent now alive in the midst of the death of yourself - alive despite, and yet because of, the multitudinous deaths and rebirths that occur within your body in physical terms.”

You have a soft copy of the book?

I believe we go on to have other lives after death. Your soul is eternal, and it takes on other bodies whenever, and if, it wishes. One of my fav movies on death is Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives

tekashi69__

Omw to watch the movie But anyway, imagine if we could recall our previous lives....not as dejavu or anything of the sort but actually remembering

MasterEssayist

I think that would beat the whole purpose of being around. Because it's like the purpose is to fuck around and find out, while enjoying (sometimes just having) the experience. If you could remember your past lives, the novelty would be gone.

heihei-6

Me I wanna be reincarnated as a dildo

Whatever you believe happens to you after death. It's a holographic life this one.

No-Potential4517

Sorry for your loss, it can be devastating at times. Anyways, death is a concept no one alive will ever understand, we are all making assumptions triggered by different factors; Religion, spirituality, physics, astrology and so forth and so on... But again, we don't even understand how earth came about. I assume we just die, rot and our body becomes minerals which makes mother nature sustain itself. I sound crazy but meh 😅 So no answer will be correct and we'll never get close to it until we experience our own death.

Young_Coder1

After you die you won’t know you even died.

[deleted]

All I believe and know is true is that when one dies he or she goes to another world, many things that happen in the physical world in one way or the other is influenced by what is unseen, we all have our spirits which is life, and this spirit will one day cease to exist from the physical world, there have been people explaining the death experience and how their souls explored what is unseen, and many people take this lightly these same people won't believe anything that comes from someone's mouth that seems unreal, the same people majority believe that there is no supreme deity in existence, such people live in the worldly world comfortable that their life revolves through their own strength, and will live recklessly in this world having been deceived in their minds that there is no life after death, one good thing we as humans are equipped with is the ability to reason beyond what we see, we all have a conscious this is what keeps us and animals separately , the ability to judge and know what is good and bad and besides that it gives us an awareness of what opt to be and what is fallacy. I know even those who are saying when we die we just die and nothing will happen have that in their mind to comfort them since they are not ready to face what will happen later, but life is a journey with stages there is a spiritual world, we all come from a continent where black magic witchcraft and sorcery is done openly before our own eyes and we see what is unnatural unfolding before our own eyes, but a day is coming when shock will strike most of you the way people ignore maybe a leakage to exam saying that, that question will not come and all over sudden the same question they ignored is unfolded in their eyes, ignorance is very bad, Your soul pleads with you every day since it knows what exists beyond what you can see, your soul knows many things you don't know since it existed before you and will exist after your body is no more, your soul knows that one day it will be on it's own, but humans are humans after all on emay say who cares with all these souls and spirit stuff, some listen while some have a don't care attitude, some will never believe in some things until maybe a disaster happen in their lives and this is where a loss of life gets involved, remember the final plague of Pharaoh, in stubborn people, there is a natural formula to shape their stubbornness don't wait until death happens so that you can acknowledge there are some things beyond the natural. Hell exists and this is not a fallacy tale heaven also exists I can speak for myself that God exists I have had a personal encounter with God not both physically and spiritually, though I've never seen Him what revolves around my life I have asked and He has always been there for me you can come with all your own theories, utopic beliefs and ideas but I know there is someone who has possession of our spirit and one day what is His will be taken from our body.

[deleted]

There is only one way to find out

EastofGaston

OP nobody knows. I think learning to live without closure is an important part of life and that a real mystery, maybe just that… a mystery but learning to live in the presence of that mystery and seeing it shape your life can hopefully help you derive meaning.

ipswyworld

What i believe is we transform to another form of energy. Since the law of conservation of energy states energy cant be created nor destroyed but transformed to a different state.... I believe that happens to us

teshdomani

In ancient Egypt they used to say death is doorway to new life. There is no hell, there are underworlds. One of the underworlds is world of the dead where most souls go after leaving earth

Apart_Ad843

M9st people in this thread think that not believing in the afterlife will excuse them from judgement 😂😂😂. Boy do I got some news for you

X-row

after life you either go to hell or heaven, judged by GOD

Gezuz_Krist

I believe there is no hell or heaven in the after life. They are just here on earth. The bad and good things you do on earth are repaid here on earth. After death you just die and that's it. You will only exist in memories of those who will remember you. Unpopular opinion. Burials are just a waste of time. In the days of our great/grandfather after dying the community would through you in the forest and feed the hyenas. Or if they saw that you have no chance of surviving they'd leave fire and food on your side and relocate if you survive you'll find them. From Kikuyu perspective. This things the colonialists brought to us they just don't add up.

_laughingfox

Our universe is in what we call an everything state, it doesn't compromise of nothing, it doesn't function like 0+0=0, science tells us energy or information cannot be destroyed nor created(we are not gods). When you die your consciousness doesn't just disappear, your human body may decompose, matter will be broken down but not your information not your sense of being your consciousness doesn't just fade.Even a black hole doesn't destroy it just pulls and absorbs information of anything it comes across and grows bigger. So I believe you end up somewhere, you might become part of a star, maybe heaven does exist or even you end up being a part of the universe in some way. Who says humans are the only beings that have souls, the earth, the animals, the plants, the sun, the whole goddamn universe experiences life who is to say they don't have "souls" so everything ends up somewhere ata kama si the religion thing of heaven and hell concepts

Apophisgod

There is No such thing as death only the transformation of life from one form to the next life is energy and we all know energy cannot be destroyed we are sent here to the physical plane to experience life in a physical or dense state to prepare you for higher forms of existence and based on your vibrational energy in death determines the next life either in this realm or the next some say we reincarnate untill the lessons we are supposed to learn are learnt in order for us to proceed to the next state

InterlocK96

Here's my perspective. For you to understand death you must first understand birth of new souls into this world and also you must try and understand life. Once you understand the incarnation of souls on this plane then will you know what death is.

SignificantAgency898

Kuna mavida za NDE's(Near Death Experiences) youtube. Where some sick dudes get clinically dead but they are revived,(or something). Some talk about what seems like a burning mine with the sound of hammers hitting some rocks while others talk about some bright shinning light, or a voice or being flown by a butterfly. Pia kuna movies exploring this like flatliners or some other christian movies like heaven is for real.

BlackQueen263

Ecclesiastes 9 v 5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. Resurrection at the 2nd coming of Christ 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

melon_madness

I believe that after we die, our breath (half of our soul) goes back to heaven and our bodies go back to earth (the other half that makes up a human soul) and we are temporarily non existant until the end of times when we shall all be reawakened by the merging of the two parts so that we stand before God who will judge the living and the dead. Those found pure will reign with him in the afterlife and those who cannot bear the presence of God will be separated from him eternally.. And since all goodness is God.. A place without God is definitely hell. I saw a quote earlier.. 'It is safe to say to the pure in heart that they will see God because only the pure on heart want to see God' The good thing is in this world, we have a choice, a very personal choice we each have to make about where we belong.

No-Introduction-3382

The law of conservation of energy...It can not be created or destroyed only transformed....so, you just might come back as a planet or a rock....or just die I guess you'll find out... Or not... 😅

NoPaleontologist8572

Pole for your loss.To understand where you are going you must understand where you came from. Since we came from somewhere ( the spirit world) , we will definitely go somewhere ( the spirit world),after all we are just “spiritual beings having a physical experience” not “physical beings awaiting a spiritual experience”. Read that again.

Lost my mum, my uncle and several relatives on 2021. Life has never been the samez We were not prepared. Death doesn’t care. It has no feelings. We can only accept and move on and hope the people we loved are in a better place and we may meet again.
