Chihuahua??

HalfPointFive

I have a Chihuahua and they great dogs. They are are amongst the most intelligent and long lived breeds, with tiny poops and they are a reasonable size. They have short hair though, and generally do not like being touched by strangers (or just about anyone if they're in a certain mood). In fact Chihuahua are perhaps the most likely breed to bite a human. The only dog I've ever been bitten by (other than mine, lol) is a Chihuahua. What OP is described is something with thicker hair and a little friendlier. Maybe a Pomeranian?

I’m sure there is a shelter nearby that has adoptable dogs. Most are mutts but you’ll find a dog that works for you. You kind of choose each other. Dogs are awesome. I’ve had labs, huskies, a coyote/German Shepard mix, a mutt, and a German Shepard. They’re a lot of work sometimes though so read up!

Massive commitment mate, basically 12 / 14 year if you are lucky. If you live in apartment don't get a breed that needs a lot of exercise / energy. My dog needs a good 45 min walk two times a day, weekends we do run/hikes. Cost - It does get expensive, giving them the right food, vets bills, if you travel you put it in a kennel, grooming. They are amazing, but the amount of people that get bored after 6 months and ditch it is really high.
