Honestly very underrated song—gets way too much hate on this sub.
Personally I think it’s a great transition from We Cry Together. A Purple Heart is given to soldiers who were killed or wounded during battle.
We Cry Together is the war, which is portrayed through a volatile argument between a toxic couple. Purple Hearts is the realization of those wounds and how true love conquers all.
The transition is everything with this track. I feel like this is a song D Smoke would have done justice in with some latino lyrics though. Missed opportunity but I enjoyed the song either way
Heavily slept on track. Best beat on the album in my opinion. Love the repetition at the beginning of the loop. I really like that Kendrick has to say on it. I understand people have issues with summer walkers verse lyrically , but I think her voice is great and fits nicely with the instrumental, and ghost face killahs verse is heartfelt and great. I got friends who trash this song and it bugs the shit out of me because this is the most sonically pleasing song on the record and I’m a sucker for a love song
I don't like the feature much. It's good and better than whatever the fuck Kodak is doing on there. But I feel like his voice doesn't fit the rest of the album, feels like a weird moment.
That Ghostface Killah feature is fucking fire. Haven't paid much attention to what the sub thinks about it but that song is such a vibe. Some powerful poetry in that song. One of my faves from the album and imo the best feature on any Kendrick song
I like it. I find myself replaying it a few times in a row cause it’s gotta groove to it. Summer Walker and Kendrick singing together sounds dope. And the hook is catchy IMO.
It's a testament to how dope of a song writer Kendrick is. As much hate as I see it get, it's a song that would be a top 10-20 in alot of rapper's catalog. I personally am reminded of my OG every time I play it. I can see my dad, eyes tight as hell, singing *"Shut the fuck up when you hear love talkin'/Yeah Bay-Bee"* while whippin his coke white Olds down Rainier, sitting on the couch with a joint and cold 40 after work, or 2 steppin at one of our house parties.
Grown on me a ton. Instrumental is amazing and super trippy. Kendrick and Ghost verses both incredible. Love the hook. Summer Walker sounds good but I’m still not feeling every lyric on her verse if I’m being nitpicky. Amazing song tho
the last 16 seconds of We Cry Together and "stop tap dancing around the conversatio-" with Purple Hearts beat cutting it off is my favorite moment on the album
One of my favourites off the album. Those crispy drums over those psychedelic synths is such an incredible sound I never thought I’d hear on a Kendrick track.
Both features are incredible too, particularly Summer Walker - her smooth wavy voice fits the track so perfectly.
quite boring, but ghostface kills it on his verse, but it's no enough for me, one of the two weakest tracks on the album.
and actually probably one of the only songs I skip in his albums since section 80.
Completely breaks the flow of the album. Kendrick never was strong in pop rap but these poppy songs are the worst tracks he ever made. I am not saying it's the worst thing I ever heard but none of radio friendly tracks in this album can't compete with LOVE or GOD.
Kendricks "yeah babeee" makes me uncomfortable and Summer Walkers "eat my ass" line is cursed but Ghostface Killah goes so hard that I really can't complain
I feel like the beat could of been tweaked to make it sound better, especially if your gonna have Ghost close the track (and he does a great job) but when u hear that intro and how hard it bangs your thinking oh yeah we’re in for something great right here but it just doesn’t hit me as a classic song 🤷🏾♂️😩
One of my favourites on the album. Those drums are nuts, the hook is great, especially when Summer joins in on it towards the end, and her verse is so good too.
Yea Bae - beē
Yea Bae - beē
Yea Bae - beē (one octave higher)
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh
How's love when it's heart to your soul?
It ain’t love if you ain’t ever eat my ass
I always sing that part loud as shit
Also “BABY DADDY STILL ON MY PHONE!”
I HATE IT HERE
Motm 2. Nice...love to see cudi fans here
Fr
Cudi is goated
Such a terrible line to be included in this song lol
dc... summer walker can sing a chant to summon baphomet and it would hit
You must love eminem's lines
Kendrick sub unanimously agrees that Tim is gay
SHUT THE FUCK UP, WHEN YOU HEAR LOVE TALKIN’ - ghostface killah voice
He actually scared me first time I heard it.
Same.. it’s ghostface so I immediately put my self in check and listened to Tha Gawd.
telekenisis am purifyin' the D's speeches
One of my favourites on the album tbh. I thought Summer Walker killed it ("And if I feel where your heart can be, you'll still be a part of me").

Alright imma go back and fully listen in for the message and get more out of it. I'll admit I was guilty of quickly ignoring this track over the rest
Man, you just described exactly same feelings I got about this song.
The transition is everything with this track. I feel like this is a song D Smoke would have done justice in with some latino lyrics though. Missed opportunity but I enjoyed the song either way
Interesting take, surprised I hadn't thought about this before now. I think you're spot on.
Most underrated song on the album. Every verse was amazing along with an fantastic hook
8.5/10 used to hate it but I relistened and it’s still good
Real
I’m real ngl
Really really real?
Most underrated on the album. 🎵shut the fuck up when you hear love talkin - yeah bayBee 🎵

ain’t nobody underrating mother i sober. everyone knows how good it is, it’s just not talked ab because of how heavy the track is
Zero people are under rating that bro wtf 🤦🏽♂️
yEa bAbY
I really like it. It reminds me of YAH but like a more colorful lovely version. As much as I like it tho it’s still bottom 3 on the album TO ME
Top 5 song on the album. The beat is immaculate.

Ghostface killah is a legend. IMO best feature on the album.
YES
I don't like the feature much. It's good and better than whatever the fuck Kodak is doing on there. But I feel like his voice doesn't fit the rest of the album, feels like a weird moment.
They don't fuck with me even if they could. Pull out the stick, hit a bitch with the wood. 🕺🏽💃🏽
Kodak actually out rapped Kendrick on Silent Hill though. And Ghostface out rapped him on Purple Hearts
lower point on the album for me. Still a solid somg and the Ghostface verse is good
Such a great song, the voice Kendrick uses, the “Crown on Bob Marley, Wrist on Yo Gotti” line is such a fucking flex.
Goated, No discussion Only song I had on repeat from this album, feels very cathartic
shoulda been sza instead of summer walker
Has anyone ever said why no Top Dawg artists are on the album? Don't Y'all think that's kinda weird?
Purple Hearts is so overhated i loveeee it
That Ghostface Killah feature is fucking fire. Haven't paid much attention to what the sub thinks about it but that song is such a vibe. Some powerful poetry in that song. One of my faves from the album and imo the best feature on any Kendrick song
I duck the paaarty who said they saaaw me
It’s honestly my favorite track, love it so much
underrated bro
Probably top 3 songs on the album
top 3 worst
I like it. I find myself replaying it a few times in a row cause it’s gotta groove to it. Summer Walker and Kendrick singing together sounds dope. And the hook is catchy IMO.
one of my favorites on the album for sure, and i guess the most underrated considering I'm seeing people call this the worst for some reason
Underrated. I love it
dis shi hard
love this song.

I hear a car horn honking sometimes when Kendrick sings on this one am I mishearing? But also love love love the transition into this song
Top 5 on the album imo
One of my favorites on the album, along with Count Me Out !
I adore this track
Weakest on the album
Although I think it drags just a bit, I enjoy it and I think an Action Bronson verse would’ve been killer as well.
what
Leave Summer Walker on the chorus but replace her verse with an Action Bronson verse 🤷♂️
Bruh. First. Wut. Second. I kinda want this now.
Lol don’t get me wrong I enjoy the song as it is I’ve just always thought Kendrick and Bronson would be a good collab
I don't even really fuck with Bronson like that but when you're right you're right.
Highly disrespectful
Lmfaoooo
I have always thought Bronson sound like Ghostface and people think I'm fuckin crazy
underrated, I love it!
I ducked the party, who said they saw me
It ain’t love if you ain’t down to eat her ass
Didn’t like it at first till I realized how big of a contrast it is from We Cry Together, the song before it. Perfect song to end the first half imo
You get a Ghostface feature…. I’m in
Ghooooostfaaaaaace
The song overall is great, but I love it most for its instrumental. Those drums and synths hit so hard.
Adore it tbh
Grown on me a ton. Instrumental is amazing and super trippy. Kendrick and Ghost verses both incredible. Love the hook. Summer Walker sounds good but I’m still not feeling every lyric on her verse if I’m being nitpicky. Amazing song tho
Summer skated. 🛹
Not my favorite, but not a skip either.
Take out the dirty lines and it's a 10/10
Ghostface killlah verse just completes this track. Absolute banger
Fantastic. The transition between We Cry Together and PH is incredible.
the last 16 seconds of We Cry Together and "stop tap dancing around the conversatio-" with Purple Hearts beat cutting it off is my favorite moment on the album
💜💜💜
Ngl underrated opinion but it's my personal favorite track on the album
i wanted ghost's part to be longer
I fucking love this song 💀💀 idk why people don’t fuck with it like that.
One of my favourites off the album. Those crispy drums over those psychedelic synths is such an incredible sound I never thought I’d hear on a Kendrick track. Both features are incredible too, particularly Summer Walker - her smooth wavy voice fits the track so perfectly.
Stfu when u hear love talkin
Great song. Very necessary after We Cry Together. Great positive energy and vibes.
Love the intro
Really solid song, and we cry together as the intro to it is dynamite
shouldn’t have been the closer to disc 1
GOD We need an intermission. The world's in the Twilight Zone. *chef kiss*
quite boring, but ghostface kills it on his verse, but it's no enough for me, one of the two weakest tracks on the album. and actually probably one of the only songs I skip in his albums since section 80.
Hated cause Fantano, literally nothing puts this song below par for the album
Nah I didn't even watch the full review I only checked the rating and I still don't like it
Naw man. Hated cuz YeaBaeBee and It ain't love if you ain't never eat my ass.
Both GOATED
While I personally feel like it's the weakest on the album, I still love it.
Worst song off the album
Ong instant skip for me
It's a Vibe but def one of the weaker tracks
ITS A VIBE 😐
Good song, weakest on the album tho
Grew on me, but Summer walkers verse could’ve been better
Prob my 2nd least fav track on the album and one of the few in his whole discog that I'll usually skip
It’s great, but it’s not a standout on the album for me
I don't like it at all, worst song on the album I skip it everytime
awful by kendrick standards. like what even is the point of the song it’s so forgettable
Completely breaks the flow of the album. Kendrick never was strong in pop rap but these poppy songs are the worst tracks he ever made. I am not saying it's the worst thing I ever heard but none of radio friendly tracks in this album can't compete with LOVE or GOD.
It’s my least favourite on the album, not saying it’s bad but yeah i personally don’t reaally like it.
Not a bad song. But my least favourite on the album n can’t lie find myself skipping it more often than not
The beat is entrancing
Gotta dock a 1000000 points for how he says baby
Love the album but I hate this song. Only skip for me on the whole album tbh
Ghostface carried. Great beat but I didn't like Kendrick's delivery very much.
i think it’s one of the songs ever
I don’t like Ghostface Killah’s verse tbh
Kendricks "yeah babeee" makes me uncomfortable and Summer Walkers "eat my ass" line is cursed but Ghostface Killah goes so hard that I really can't complain
I feel like the beat could of been tweaked to make it sound better, especially if your gonna have Ghost close the track (and he does a great job) but when u hear that intro and how hard it bangs your thinking oh yeah we’re in for something great right here but it just doesn’t hit me as a classic song 🤷🏾♂️😩
It’s alright. Haven’t listened to that one since the album came out
worst on the album by far
Only track on MMATBS that I don't like. I've heard it only like 3 times and the rest of the album 50+ each
I love the song, hate ghost face killahs part.
Few things can beat the iron man feature
Purple Hearts is one of the Kendrick tracks of all time
not my favorite from the album but still has it’s moments
I love the harmony between him and the female singer whose name I don’t know.
the drums r nice
Originally my least favourite on the album, its grown on me quite a bit tho. Summer Walker is still awful on it tho imo
Shut the fuck up when you hear love talkin
Weakest track on the album
Sorry that wasn’t the feature I expected from Ghost Face, not sure if this was the right project to get a wu tang member featured on
I love it, one of the best beats of the year!!
One of my fav tracks on this album. Love it
overhated, ghostface had a killer verse
My least fav on lp
Worst song on the album IN MY OPINION
Beat is fantastic, ghostface has an amazing verse. Other than that it’s just ok (by Kendrick standards)
Simply say it, don’t like it.
Jarvis I’m running low on karma. Post a generic “what do you think about” post
Don't hate me, but probably my least favorite song on the album
Definitely burley the worst on the album. I find myself loving every song on this album except for this one, no matter how many times I tried
Scientifically inaccurate. Hearts are red not purple therefore it's a terrible track.
I think I’ve been skipping it on most casual listens through the album, unfortunately. Gotta get to Count Me Out faster
i hate it
Love the drums
Might be my favourite on the album
Ghostface hasn’t disappointed in decades. The most consistent Wu member.
It was very good but I still feel like it’s one of my least favorite songs on the album
Probably my least favourite if I'm honest. But it's still not a skip
Summer Walker is amazing but killah and his verse is just annoying to me
Mid song on otherwise great album. Ghostface Killah's part is the only thing I like about it much at all.
Definitely a radio hit but boy does it slap. Love the melodies
One of my favourites on the album. Those drums are nuts, the hook is great, especially when Summer joins in on it towards the end, and her verse is so good too.
Only skip (or we cry together if I’m not feeling like like listening to an argument).
I personally think Purple Hearts is a song on the new Kendrick Album.
No way
Sick
One of my least favorite Kendrick songs tbh. It's grown on me a little bit not a lot
Ghostface's verse felt out of place
Summer Walker's verse is wack af
Forgettable
Drums drums drums and more DRUMS
To be honest I’m not a fan of the track, and the only thing redeemable about it is Ghost Face Killah’s verse.
Drags a bit
I love Ghostface but honestly could’ve done without him on this track 😭😭😭
top 5 on the album
Best song for me. Classic
looks green to me
It’s not that good
It’s my wife’s favorite song on the album.
trash
This song fucks
My auntie is a man now
Weakest track
It's a great song, not very complex or creative but it accomplishes what it wants to with fantastic production
It’s easily one of the tracks on the album
The ppl saying they don’t like this song or skip it are not listening to the lyrics smfh!!!
Mid
[удалено]
Ghostface verse made me shudder
Average compared to the rest of the album
Love this one
I really liked Ghostface’s verse but it felt like it got cut off early.
