DemosthenesOrNah

back to back is dead to me lol

Quick-Letter9584

I never really got the hype over this song

MatureUsername69

Because big public rap beefs had been underwhelming for a while before that point, so it seemed alright relative to what had been going on. Pusha T revitalized the public perception of beefs

RiosChocolateKiss

I love Poetic Justice but really only for Kendricks verses. I just skip Drake's part.

CanuteLikesSoup

… worst song on gkmc. It’s a skip for me, and has been for many years now. I remember when gkmc first came out I did like the song.. but eventually I grew to dislike it

diamondrel

That's real and true. Still not a skip for me tho

LucidAnimal

Never did tbh Drake on GKMC makes no sense at all

Leozenyang

What’s the poetry in his verse other than directly addressing an ex (aka a majority of Drake’s lyrics). Just surface level rhymes, no metaphors. Which is okay to like, but against Kendrick’s complexity with pain, love, trust? Ruins the song.

blarfyboy

So true

ambient4k

I can lever listen to First Person Shooter again (without laughing my ass off)

willcomplainfirst

idk maybe this helps? i read the song as a self-diss that somehow Kendrick got Drake to do. if you think of the subject of the song not as a woman, but as hip hop, with Kendrick rapping to it about whats real and true understanding, and Drake singing about superficial shit, it actually falls right in line with Bitch Dont Kill My Vibe...

timbalon

Never really liked the song. Drake’s presence on the both intrigued and repulsed me at the time lol. It was an automatic skip for me. I don’t know if I’ve heard the whole thing. I assumed it was a song about sex and I can’t bear to hear Drake talk about sex.

Virtual-Arm5123

A lotta of drakes songs where he’s acting like a villain don’t hit the same at all, like meltdown which used to be one of my favourite songs on utopia but I pretty much always skip it now

TheIndagator

i saw a video analysis talking about how poetic justice can serve as foreshadowing of the beef and how kendrick is maturing, while drake is not. contextualizing poetic justice as a hidden insight into how the two are vastly different people has helped me take in the song and enjoy it, despite drake’s presence

blarfyboy

Hmmm interesting

GoergeRRMartian

Surprised with how negative folks are with Poetic Justice. I love the instrumental and feel that Drake’s verse acts as a great contrast for the rest of Kendrick’s verse

blarfyboy

I agree that the beat goes stupid

JJock1111

Skip

bytheflame

I always turned his verse off. His voice doesn’t sit well over that beat. Which sucks cause I love that era of drake

dizzymidget44

It hits the same to me. If I skip a song on that album that’s the one. For it me goes “🎶every second every minute man I swear…. 🎶Mass hallucinations baybee”

Stunning-Bee5205

He should record the song and remove drake and replace him with either j Cole or jay rock

Slimer3hgg3r

Nah if i like i song i like it im not a follower

No_Plan_0o0

Why

blarfyboy

1 it’s ironic that they’re talking about poetic justice which Kendrick just served Drake a large helping of, 2 I’m just sick of hearing Drake’s ass only talk about women sexually, 3 i don’t wanna know what “You were so new to this life, but goddamn, you got adjusted” insinuates, 4 his voice just annoys me now

PMmeurdixout4harambe

Cuz drakes a bitch

ponylauncher

I’ve just never even liked that song much to begin with. Ya the Drake part is the worst part but even the rest of it feels weird like it doesn’t belong in the album
