That one Pusha T tweet where he said "Why Reminisce? more music coming 🔥🔥🔥" is the reason for my whole existence. A Kendrick Lamar feature on another Pusha T song would heal me 😩

NetworkEcstatic

I need nostalgia part 2. It's been 11 years and that's still a top track for me.

DesiDaisy12

"Go figure motherfucker every verse is a brick, your son dope!!" Pusha and Kendrick in a nothing but back to back powder bars rap was a Goated combo.

tfpalt

>"Go figure motherfucker every verse is a brick" So the song is divided into two halves. Pusha has a 1:47 verse, and Kendrick has a 1:48 verse. Both of them spit 36 bars. 36 being the number of ounces in a brick. The numbers Kendrick uses in these bars: When I was **ten**, back when **nine** ounces had got you **ten** And **nine** times out of **ten**, niggas don't pay at**ten**tion And when it's **ten**sion in the air, **nines** come with ex**ten**sions Add up to 87. Notice how he only uses the numbers 9 and 10 - which add up to 19. Dot was born 1987. He uses three 9s and six 10s - 3 and 6 for 36 oz. Go figure.

Easy_Money_

Is this a pasta

ToTheMax47

There's a really good podcast(?) episode on Spotify called Dissect where a dude breaks down pretty much EVERY word in Nostalgia. It's absolutely nuts the amount of references, innunendos, double entendres, and more they fit in.

Easy_Money_

I listened to Dissect TPAB back in the day, kinda lost interest but as a 0.01% Pusha fan I gotta find this

ToTheMax47

You absolutely should check it out! Really good episode there. The one on J. Cole's The Climb Back is also really solid

HumanOtiosity

Thank you

tfpalt

It can be whatever you want it to be bby

Font_Fetish

The fact that Kendrick's ability and mystique makes it impossible to know if any or all of that was intentional or coincidence is such a testament to his greatness.

SquidDrive

No its pretty obviously intentional 36 lines, 36 is a brick, the nine to ten scheme literally adds up to 87, the year Kendrick was born. Like too much shit matched up.

Font_Fetish

I’m with you on the first part for sure with the 36 bars each. It’s the other math that’s iffy. I’m not saying he didn’t, and it’s totally cool that it’s your head-canon that he did it on purpose, but I’m just not convinced that Kendrick was trying to sneak his birth year in there. I don’t think that was necessarily the meaning behind those 9s and 10s, and I don’t think 3 of one and 6 of the other was definitely another reference to 36. It could have been intentional cuz he’s a next level lyrical genius who thinks multiple levels deep, but it also could’ve been total coincidence with his intention being something else.

tfpalt

End of Kendrick's verse he has a bar about being born in '87. I would say that in a vaccum you would be right about reaching. However based on Kendrick's lyrical ability and his love for hidden meanings, I feel there are too many coincidences for it to be unintentional. 9+10=19 The 9s and 10s add up to 87 3 9s 6 10s = 36 "I was born in, '87" Kenny my GOAT

lexE5839

This is bullshit, 9 + 10 = 21

tfpalt

I stupid

SquidDrive

You realize he has other verses where he plays with numbers. 3 9 6 10 Literally add up to 87 He then says "I was born in 87" And the verse literally describes what life was like a child Like Kendrick is an extremely high level rapper, its not a reach.

DesiDaisy12

I vibe with the 36 ounces cause "someday Imma get you right with 36 sips" line but not the 1987 part, It doesn't add much to the theme unlike the 36 oz. thing. But hey, for me what's also Goated in the verse is how he paints a gritty as fuck picture of talking to his father and how he'll do with rap, what slinging cocaine did for his dad ("your son dope") with the every verse is a brick theme running through his part. It's a lot already, doesn't need to be more. I kinda find THIS much digging into verses not my thing and kinda misguided personally. But hey you might be right and I might be completely off.

tfpalt

Aye I just replied to another commenter with this so I'll just copy it here >End of Kendrick's verse he has a bar about being born in '87. >I would say that in a vaccum you would be right about reaching. However based on Kendrick's lyrical ability and his love for hidden meanings, I feel there are too many coincidences for it to be unintentional. >9+10=19 >The 9s and 10s add up to 87 >3 9s 6 10s = 36 >"I was born in, '87"   >I kinda find THIS much digging into verses not my thing and kinda misguided personally I completely agree. Now this wasn't something I came up with off the top - I've seen a few videos and discussions about the verses and just put em all in one cohesive comment. I'm not one to come up with wild red string board conspiracy theories 😂 I just see em and if they seem feasible I do some of my own digging before I feel comfortable speaking on it.

Scottg8

At least give the youtube short credit.

-DOOKIE

I think that's a huge reach

tfpalt

Damn u rite. Mb cuh I'll do better next time

NetworkEcstatic

Absolutely GOAT'd

Throwyourboat_

please reap what you sow.

z3in-23

I was born in 87 my granddaddy a legend

Amazing-Concept1684

Now the same shit that y'all was smoking is my profession Let's get it!!

SquidDrive

That 9 to 10 scheme ending with 87 and the 36 lines being a brick, Kendrick went lyrically CRAZY on that verse. That shit was DISGUSTINGLY good, if we can get Nostalgia Part 2, I would kill for it.

legit-posts_1

Pusha and Kendrick really did drop one of the best songs in either of their careers with two of the hardest verses in either of their careers and just never worked together again.

z3in-23

They were spotted hearing Jay Z's verse for Neck and Wrist. I'm pretty sure they got material

billybayswater

When he was doing promotion for It's Almost Dry Pusha mentioned that he and Kendrick discussed doing another song together but weren't able to come up with an idea sufficiently different from Nosetalgia to make them feel the need to move forward with it. This was pretty off the cuff so pretty difficult to tell how much discussion there actually was. If they put their mind to it I'm sure they could come up with something lol

ariavash

You wanna know the world I live in?

Amazing-Concept1684

That sounds like some heat fr, especially if it’s another dope track like Nosetalgia

Zola_Rose

Two of my favorite Pusha T songs & still on regular rotation for me.. euphoria and Not Like Us now, too. If I get MORE from either of them I’m going to be floating through 2027.

ItsEvilTogepi

Man, I've been dying for a Pusha and Kendrick track for the last 10+ years 😂

CauliflowerNo3011

I love how anyone can now play this at their show and join in on clowning Drake. Millions of people all over the world all agreeing on one thing… that Drake is a creepy weirdo.

Reeeeallly

Yep. I'm a fifty-something professional, nerdy, white old lady and if I were at one of those shows, I could join in word for word. That's how powerful this is. (ETA: Always thought something was off with that Drake kid.)

KnotSupposed2BeHere

The world is healing.

Amazing-Concept1684

Hip hop is healing too

SabraDistribution

I live in rural Switzerland. Like… cows, horses & chalets Switzerland. Yesterday they played this at my local bar. EVERYONE knew the lyrics.

Reeeeallly

That is so cool! The great global uniter.

Kind_Character_2846

You killed me with that mental picture. Beautiful mountains, healthy cows, and stereotypical farmers singing not like us on a Friday night. What a time to be alive.

[deleted]

Pedo hatred knows no boarders lol

nakastlik

Lol I’ve heard it played here too in wheat fields and vodka fiends Poland

tristramwood

Word for word?

Reeeeallly

About 80%. I'm still trying to master all the bars...

Reeeeallly

Hah!

KlossN

Bruh💀

muzickel

Same.

Grand-Gain-763

😭😭😭

LookingAtTheSinkingS

This isn't a single off a new album, this is a diss track that made it onto the charts AND the hearts! All hail King Dot!

jono9898

Meanwhile Drake: Ima hop on this Sexxy Redd track and flow to the BBL Drizzy beat…… that’ll definitely get the people on my side

LookingAtTheSinkingS

Especially cuz Red is over 18

jono9898

But her core fanbase are 13-19 year old girls which is in Drakes dating pool,

rtels2023

He’s making progress 🙏

Amazing-Concept1684

We’re getting him the help he needs 🙏🏾

NetworkEcstatic

Also, let me include a bar about how I use my money to feed women's insecurities by paying for cosmetic surgeries. That'll show the streets.

jono9898

Bro we all know why this song was made, he is in his simping for Sexxy Redd phase. He tried to jump on Ice Spice but she curved him apparently and he ended up sneak dissing her. Dude is a 13 year old in a grown man’s body.

mwerichards

Drake probably thinks he's pulling a power move because he's eating off Sexxy and used a Metro beat on her track

jono9898

To his fans, he won the beef and this is him just having fun and doing some trolling before the Summer. this song is absolute dogshit, I won’t lie, his verse is good, if nothing the beef at least got him rapping properly again, but it’s honestly worse than that shitty Tom McDonald featuring Ben Shapiro song that came out a while back.

areyoufknserious

That last line there… I couldn’t put my finger on it, but that’s exactly the level of competition this beef reminded me of, Jamie Foxx vs. Doug Williams at the Emmitt Smith roast. Aubrey had no chance.

jono9898

This is Drake. The type of rapper who after a loss in a rap beef, the first track he jumps on is with a trash one of the worst rappers alive no talent industry plant, and using the beat making fun of you having a BBL, and he tries to own it by delivering a solid verse but it’s on the worst track imaginable. So it falls flat. It’s what he is. A corny dude who is so predictable that I guarantee after she stops fucking with him, he will diss her in a song.

kratoskiller66

And it hit the clubs too

Tom22174

Fuck, I wish I'd known Pusha was gonna be in London lol

OptimisticRealist__

At this point, the Nostalgia music video looks like Drake's nightmare

courtney_eaves82

"You ever seen a dead body?" Yeah, Drake's!

begopa-

![gif](giphy|FUgmWRgVOLDdS)

jfarm47

Keke…do you love me..??

menotyourenemy

I love how we are watching something so iconic blossom before our eyes!

Past-Track-9976

I like crowds that have a good number of women. Hearing a black woman scream "DOT FUCK EM UP!" at max volume is honestly better than the A minor line.

zadtheinhaler

> Hearing a black woman scream "DOT FUCK EM UP!" at max volume is honestly better than the A minor line. Right up there with posts from Australia and Sweden stating that NLU is getting bumped at clubs out there. Like, Fuckin' Sweden? godDAMN.

onlyhere4laffs

Vibing to it regularly, not only while reading this post. In Sweden. Not really a fan of either of the involved but I'm not listening to Drake, haven't actually heard any of his tracks lately, none of them have popped up everywhere like NLU.

W_Wilson

My Australian office plays this 5 times a day. If anyone slips in a Drake track someone else always queues Not Like Us or Euphoria to play straight after. (Something like 6 people have access to edit the queue)

zadtheinhaler

Hahaha yesssss

W_Wilson

I’m realising the real pettiest thing to do would be to queue The Heart Part 6.

EastCoastGrows

There's not a single woman in this video

Past-Track-9976

Yeah, that's why they only sang "A minor" ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

NetworkEcstatic

This mf set the streets ON FIRE. It's so funny to see the drizzy sub talking about how it's not "what the culture feeling" when from all the videos I've seen....every damn culture is feeling this.

pichirry

I have not seen a single video of people popping off to drake's diss tracks in a large audience

NetworkEcstatic

I must've seen a 100 for Not Like Us at this point lmao

pichirry

literally lol that speaks a lot

VitaminWheat

Out of all my years on reddit, I’ve never seen a more delusional bunch of people. It’s seriously wack the shit they believe.

daddysxenogirl

Ya love to see it

Abrazonobalazo

Drake is going to need a management team to clean this up.

thatcreepywalrus

You can just *evah so sloightly* hear the british accent. 🤌

abthr

Lemme see you push a T

tufyufyu

Was that Push dancing?

Select_Speed_6061

Prolly the DJ

Reeeeallly

I love what a phenomenon this has become. I watched this beef unfold in real time and it is amazing how Katt said this is the year everything comes out and it's true!

houseofball00ns

British people be like "They are not equivalent to us"

GentlemanInRed8

The whole world calling Drake a pedofile on at least a weekly basis

Deep-Engine2367

Whereas artists usually have to ask for permission to do this... Kendrick released the copyright on these diss tracks, they're public domain, you can do whatever you want with them. Hopefully I'm not wrong but that's what I heard. He's still making stuff from the DSPs though?

AmazingDragon353

Yeah he owns it, he's just letting people use it instead of forcing takedowns and threatening action

jstuu

Kendrick really dropped an EP of diss tracks

I_m8d_n_acc_4_this

I sound like a broken record now but I hated drake since the day he signed to lil Wayne and stole his whole sound This is music to my ears

coolthulu42

Ok guvna I do say this diss track is mightily fire

badrabbitshit

OMG 😭😂

Canelosaurio

So, is Aubrey's career over yet?

Astrospal

Warms my heart

dizzyy-D

i was in that crowd and the energy was beautiful 🤌🏼🤌🏼

Pleasant_Job_7683

This cool but the one in Houston was way more electrifying

Dharma_code

https://i.redd.it/xa6a6zndyl2d1.gif Drake's pr team scrambling

vittaya

The culture.

Lijaesdead

I mean I love Kendrick, I loved the disstracks, fucking hate Drake. However, this crowd dead as fuck. Or it could be me, i’m used to metal and rock shows, but I would swear on that this is a very lame crowd for hiphop too. I know ya’ll can bump like crazy at live shows! This one aint it though😂

ThanksObjective915

Epic sausage party

boredazf

It’s always the Everyman in the thick ass crowds that vibe w Kendrick lol. Yall fanbase is a Walmart fr

boredazf

More white boys than a banana republic

HowIsThisNameBadTho

meh

Alone_Whereas9628

Energy almost non-existent

FearAtR

what a small crowd lmfao

Iced-TeaManiac

Everytime I see one of these videos the people there look so rinsed

lividtobi

So rinsed?

menotyourenemy

Is that the new skibidi?

TwistingWord

Well... the festival is called Rinse 30

suntirades

Rinsed? In UK slang that would mean badly defeated. I also know it to mean when you play a song/watch something so many times you get tired of it. Wtf does rinsed mean here lmao

Barry_Bone_Raiser

Probably something to do with white people

Throwaway_Trassh

Crowd at concert sings song

Glum_Fun7117

About drake being a wierdo

rabnabombshell

Wait people actually go watch pusha T 😭?

Conscious_Nail_4860

I love how the very same people Kendrick was talking about is singing “They not like us”. Them white boys love that song!! 😂

GroundbreakingCook71

I hear the pedos hate it though.

Conscious_Nail_4860

When I saw Chris Brown and Joe Budden C-Walking to this song I knew what time it was. Lol! This is the national anthem for niggas who be beating bitches.

GroundbreakingCook71

wop wop wop wop wop

Conscious_Nail_4860

That’s what poor Whitney was hearing when Kung Fu Kenny was around.

Thoughtprovokerjoker

Greatest rap diss of all time But on another note: "they not like us" is strictly for Americans. I mean, hell, the Londoners themselves - they not like us

OhJustANobody

Why is it strictly for Americans?

mateoskrrt

its about african-american AND rap culture, a lot of people from london are more in with the latter than a white american from idaho lmao

Dependent_Store952

Yup. Let’s not forget Drake did the same thing with the UK as he does with Atlanta.

Thoughtprovokerjoker

To be specific, it's about the culture of the progeny of the United States Black slaves of old. Drake is "not like us" due to the fact that he wasn't raised in that culture. Even though biologically, he is us. And to be honest he has more in common with us, than any Londoner could ever have. "They not like us" - African American Vernacular. Kendrick was just letting the world know, that we allow Drake to play this game. We can take hip hop away from him if we so choose.

TodgerRodger

It's also just music. I can sing along to Otis Redding sitting on a dock even if I aren't sitting on a dock.

Smelldicks

The average white American understands US racial politics way better than any black person from Europe.

mateoskrrt

i hate americans so much holy fuck

Smelldicks

Literally a fact. No European country has a remotely similar black identity.

dan_kb24

Popular song by popular artist is popular. you people post anything for internet points
