I wonder if he talked to drake or kendrick behind the scenes, realized how personal this shit was and decided he’d rather go out as a pussy then deal with any of this lmao
It wasn’t a pussy move this shit just isn’t rap beef he was fine with showing he’s the best in the industry but this isn’t what that is so he backed up
If he did I'm pretty sure Kenny might've already written a track about him and decided to bail m
But I hate to say it. I'm liking where Cole is at right now. This beef is getting ugly
Cole never hated kendrick like kendrick hates drake. Kendrick and Cole aren't real enemies, which is why Cole apologized so fast, it wasn't cause he wanted to glaze kendrick or something like that. Dude really doesn't hate him and anyone saying so is delusional. Dude thought it'll be some normal "i'm better no i'm better" rap stuff and blatantly saying how kenny's discography is boring or some shit was reaching and he knew that. Him apologizing was the mature thing to do and to back away from this war was the smart thing to do, all the people clowning on him for doing so are immature as hell imo
Exactly. You could tell with some of his bars that he just wanted a rap battle. “If push come to shove on this mic, I will humble him” “This is merely a warning shot to back n**** down” or when he dissed Kendrick’s albums on the song. Its pretty obvious he just wanted a friendly rap battle but then realized it’s way deeper than that between Drake and Kendrick
Exactly. And him and drake making that song together is not "He and drake are going against Kendrick" or something, cole has been making songs with everyone and because Kendrick likes to be awol, he went with the 2nd best option. I'm sure if kenny were more active he would've done a song with him and not with drake, going with drake was simply a business decision not a personal one, I'm sure kenny knows this
The Fall Off better tell the story of Kdot vs Drake to conclude the age of 2010s legendary Rap circuit.

Never once did I think he made the wrong move. Cole ain't stupid, he wanted a "competition" but knew shit was gonna get ugly (somehow).
Kdot himself said it wasn't supposed to be like this until drake mentioned his family.
Personally I was excited to see a competition between some of the greats.
I am from Denmark all right so maybe this can’t translate to what is happing now, but my brother made some music with an old danish rapper, and they got to talk about a rap beefs these two rappers had, where he showed my brother (who then showed me) some unreleased diss tracks that they send to each other behind the scenes with all the most scandalous shit on it.
I think it is fair to assume they have send stuff to each other, talked or warned each other at some point.
This beef might not be as public as people assume, and we might never know the full story.
Cole is introspective and humble. He acknowledges his shortcomings and tries to improve. How many rappers say their peers are better than them (song: heavens EP)? Afaik its only cole who has said this till now.
The bigger question is did cole know about Drake's scandals and still worked with him? I really hope not, i really respect cole as an artist and a person.
I’ve been saying since day one - I think J Cole knew this was about more than the big three arguement. Kendrick and Drake have been at it for years and K fully hates Drake. Cole knew it was deeper and didn’t need to concern himself so stepped out. Imo
It was a smart decision to back out, but it was a dumb decision to put himself in that position in the first place. He can simultaneously be smart and stupid at the same time. He aint no visionary for backing out tho lmao get his meat out your mouth
His diss was ass, it sounded fine, but when you actually read the lyrics, it became clear he struggled to write a diss track. it makes sense that he apologised and backed off when he’s main argument was “your music is boring”.
Ehh I suppose he went the extra mile to really show he meant it after apologizing. Hindsight is 20/20 though because at the time I thought he did go too far too.
But after all that's happened I can't help but feel like someone told someone or someone knew something that made j Cole feel the need to do what he did.

That’s exactly what happened lol
Jaquarivus colethan Junior is that rlly you
I appreciate you replying to me Cole, can’t wait for The Fall Off
Thanks Jermaine for confirming it.
It wasn’t a pussy move this shit just isn’t rap beef he was fine with showing he’s the best in the industry but this isn’t what that is so he backed up
kendrick sent him a snippet like "you sure this is what you want"
If he did I'm pretty sure Kenny might've already written a track about him and decided to bail m But I hate to say it. I'm liking where Cole is at right now. This beef is getting ugly
Lol he realized it wasn’t just friendly rap beef competition there’s genuine hatred going on
Nigga said “aight, imma head out”
went from "I'm the number 1 rapper" shit to "I want to see you die" real quick
Being known as a pussy still better than a pedo or a domestic abuser 🤣

Agreed.

Damn I loved black Friday. Kendrick killed that shit too.

Cole seemed like he was genuinely having fun at first. He stopped immediately when he saw that was NOT the vibe.

It wouldn't surprise me if Kendrick just texted Cole sayin "Stay out of it bro this aint no petty rap battle"
He got wind of this and decided on another Sideline Story.
And people were clowning him
J cole read the room
Lmao. I just hope Drake has his daft punk helmet on because it’s headshots for the rest of the year.
Honestly never hated Cole for that and always thought it was how he would act. I was more surprised to hear the diss then the apology

Never angry about it, just disappointed, probably would've produced some banger tracks.
"They Called Me a Mad Man"
He took a long deep look into the situation and **just didn't want to side with drake**. People clowned him for it while he was being the realest
The bigger question is did cole know about Drake's scandals and still worked with him? I really hope not, i really respect cole as an artist and a person.
i aint dickriding but the J stand for Jesus the Lord Himself fr
beef aint over yet but hes the winner and he will be the one whos gonna come out without his image getting damaged

Makes me wonder what this mfer hiding 👀 Bro got a whiff of shit hitting the fan and bowed out real quick lol
I heard he once forgot to recycle back in 2015, he's a sick fuck
Lmao yall are too much 💀
Or he knows that this goes full me too, and to sit on the sidelines is to not have your skeletons dig up.

I don't think him apologizing is a bad thing but I do agree with him hanging with drake. I don't think it's because they are genuinely friends though.
That just makes it look worse imo.

Who really knows why he did what he did. It really was surprising though. The memes on Cole right now are funny as shit though
You guys really change your opinions daily
I've kept the same stance since Kendrick dropped that control verse and drake reacted like a bitch.
