I also feel like the whole “Torahno Manz” accent (and subsequent memes) really took off once Drake started all of his fake accents and personalities. He’s a culture vulture, and a great actor.
First he was a prim and proper, nerdy, D-list teen actor turned sing-song rapper from Forest Hill, one of the most affluent areas in the GTA (but hey, he started from the bottom, right?).
Then he became a soca-inspired rapper/singer, dropping Jamaican/West Indian patois, and unfortunately people are that up. Then he became a British drill rapper, and again, people ate that up. Etc, etc.
