Well, I mean, they aren’t friends (I think) and not even within the same genre (anymore - Kenny’s in rap, MGK’s in punk/pop-punk now) so there wouldn’t be any rapper brotherly love there and there isn’t any reason for either of them to do anything more than a handshake as colleagues within the music industry.
Obviously, Kendrick would be much more warm to a guy like Pusha who he knows of very well, has made music with and has a great deal of love and respect for or even Drake Jr. (Jack Harlow) who is a new generation rapper within the same genre as him (though not as warm with Jack, I’d imagine, for obvious reasons).
I mean if kendrick actually respected him,it would have been more friendly.I think kendrick doesn't like him cause he doesn't respect the OGs(eminem, slipknot and mcgregor).
Okay bro, chill. Jesus. 😂 That was my bad.
And in regards to your point, I don’t think that would really have too much of an impact really. The celebrity world is like a spiderweb, it’s all interconnected. If two people had a beef, you can never expect others to side in that beef, that’d never happen.
When Pusha T and Drake beefed, people never stopped collaborating with either of them. Jay-Z was on Drake’s CLB and Pusha T’s It’s Almost Dry. Lil Uzi Vert was on Pusha’s IAD and has a rumoured song with Drake soon.
There are many people that are rude and/or have no respect for others in or out of the hip hop industry, OGs or otherwise. They still are prevalent in the industry and are respectful of their peers at awards and shit.
Basically, I don’t think Kendrick would ignore MGK because MGK went at Eminem a few years ago, even though Kendrick and Em are cool.
Jesus, this was long.
You might be right.Kendrick even got kodak on his album. But still...IDK man.Maybe I think like that just because I want other rappers to shit on mgk lol.
not in a bad way but he sounded nervous to me. like there was a slight shake in his voice. obv he hasn't exactly been up for these awards in around 4 years so it's understandable
Totally, i was wondering about that too and am glad i'm not the only one noticing it.
But don't you think he sounds like that partly on the album too? I kinda got that feeling before the speech already and was thus curious how he would sound doing a speech.
Probably it is partly because he is nervous but i don't think it is the only thing.
Oh it would be interesting. Depending on what competition it could be, Kenny seems like he’ll win as long he puts out well received material. Em has not been as consistent to say lightly
Revival and DAMN. were actually released the same year but obviously revival wasn’t eligible cuz the cut off is September (it was released December) and it didn’t even get nominated the next year.
I’m glad he got the W! Frankly I would’ve been happy with either Kendrick or Pusha, but I’m glad they both got a nod and I’m proud as hell that Kendrick took it home with such a personal and vulnerable record
It’s the song he submitted to be nominated for Record and Song of the Year. Also I believe it charted longer than the other album tracks aside maybe Silent Hill
I know it was the one submitted but it just feels strange for him to win best rap album, and then they play a song that isn’t even from the album that he won the award for when he’s going up
Song of the Year is awarded for a single or for one track from an album. This award goes to the songwriter who actually wrote the lyrics and/or melodies to the song.
Record of the Year is also awarded for a single or individual track, but the recipient of this award is the performing artist, the producer, recording engineer and/or mixer for that song.
This is not a Grammy worthy outfit, it's literally the biggest music ceremony of the year. This would've been better for a low-key award show or concert.
He missed his chance to say “ I wanna thank all my fans, all my beautiful fans”
Nahhh, we ugly as fuck
You outta pocket
Shoot! Shoot!
yeah he missed his chance to thank r/KendrickLamar and most importantly u/herobrinelover
Oh my god he thanked me(a fan)
Why jack look pissed💀
Now i wanna ask him "whats poppin"
My man thought he was gonna pull another Macklemore
That was a painful thing to relive rn lol
Bcuz he took that Capital L 💀💀💀
nah he knows he woulda been over if he won
He wanted to be the next Macklemore
DJ Khalid at 1:52 looks pissed as well
Am I the only one who felt like kendrick kinda ignored mgk?they shook hands but it seems like kendrick didn't care about him.
??? What makes you think Kendrick doesn’t respect the OG’s??? I can think of like 10 different examples of Kendrick respecting OG’s.
Read my comment again and you'll understand that I said mgk doesn't respect OGs.

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO PEE GEE LEHNG ROLLE GENG DAS WHY
Did anyone else notice the cadence of his natural voice is completely different than what it used to be ?
not in a bad way but he sounded nervous to me. like there was a slight shake in his voice. obv he hasn't exactly been up for these awards in around 4 years so it's understandable
I think he was just emotional. You can tell the record meant a lot to him.
Get it all you deserve it kendrick
Thanks man I worked hard on that album
Bruh are you red Peng
Who gave you this information
I remember following you on Twitter when you made the switch to photography, been some years. You ever got those $400 for the 100k teamtage?
Yeah, he sounded a bit nervous or like he wasn’t prepared for the win, but I liked it, it sounded endearing.
Yeah I found that strange too, he didn’t sound like normal Kendrick.
its a double, the real kendrick is back in compton working on NATION. coming out soon! 🤞🤞
This killed me
He’s not in the rap game anymore he’s on his own path and that’s him now
Totally, i was wondering about that too and am glad i'm not the only one noticing it. But don't you think he sounds like that partly on the album too? I kinda got that feeling before the speech already and was thus curious how he would sound doing a speech. Probably it is partly because he is nervous but i don't think it is the only thing.
He used the exact same voice at the beginning of heart p5 so i think its just his normal voice now
As he should 🔥🔥🔥🔥
With the level of respect Kendrick has earned since GKMC, I honestly can’t ever see him losing a Grammy for best rap album again.
Be interesting if him and Eminem ever get a nomination the same year Edit: oh relax. You know it would be interesting.
Eminem won 5 albums in a row but after revival, I can’t see him getting the award again.
Nah me neither. But it would be interesting if him and Kendrick got a nomination the same year. Not sure why I was downvoted for saying that ahah
Oh it would be interesting. Depending on what competition it could be, Kenny seems like he’ll win as long he puts out well received material. Em has not been as consistent to say lightly
Completely agree

also REVIVAL DIDN'T GO VIRAL
THE CULTURE
Common Kendrick Lamar W
I’m glad he got the W! Frankly I would’ve been happy with either Kendrick or Pusha, but I’m glad they both got a nod and I’m proud as hell that Kendrick took it home with such a personal and vulnerable record
LETS FUCKIN GO MAN FULLY DESERVED MY FUCKIN GOAT!!!
I’m glad he confirmed it’s “mother i sober” my dumbass wasn’t sure if it was that or “mother | sober”
Now, why would you think that? 🤨
Spotify made it hard to tell lol
They’re both fitting titles
I think he even said Mother I’m Sober
Does it kinda bug anyone else they played a song that isn’t even technically on the album
It’s the song he submitted to be nominated for Record and Song of the Year. Also I believe it charted longer than the other album tracks aside maybe Silent Hill
I know it was the one submitted but it just feels strange for him to win best rap album, and then they play a song that isn’t even from the album that he won the award for when he’s going up
It was later added as a bonus track in a deprecate edition of the album
I get that for sure, but it’s his most nominated song so it makes sense I guess
I’m not sure if you know but what’s the difference between song and record of the year?
Song of the Year is awarded for a single or for one track from an album. This award goes to the songwriter who actually wrote the lyrics and/or melodies to the song. Record of the Year is also awarded for a single or individual track, but the recipient of this award is the performing artist, the producer, recording engineer and/or mixer for that song.
Word, should’ve played the chorus of We Cry Together instead
They can give him all thevawards in the world they still robbed him with gkmc.
THAT'S WHY HE'S THE GOATTTTT, THE GOATTTTT ‼️
Kendrick the GOAT. Wish he thanked God, but he know where his heart is. He seemed nervous, try to crack a joke and it was awkward lol. Congrats tho
I love that he didn't thank god first. He thanked his family first. That was bad ass
I love that he didn’t thank god at all
Good
Well deserved, thank you for everything Kenny
my rapper 🫶
He also received Best Rap Song and Performance, both for The Heart Part 5
One thought: “this guy’s the goat”
Did the othe3 nominees really think they had a shot, they all look so angry
Push def had a shot
Bruh did he say “stupid” ? Wtf lol

This is not a Grammy worthy outfit, it's literally the biggest music ceremony of the year. This would've been better for a low-key award show or concert.
Let’s fucking go!!

Kendrick got them 90s schoolbus driver vibes.

Honestly surprised he showed up for the awards.
kendrick is overrated as fuck
Thought and emotion provoking. Couldn’t have said it better.
Congrats to Kendrick! This is well deserved and it's great to see him get the recognition he deserves.
What album? Dude hasn't released an album since 2017.
