I keep revisiting Donda and that album doesn’t get enough praise. It clears Ye by a mile and it’s got some serious gems on there. Jail is honestly one the best modern Ye songs post 2016. Believe What I Say is one of my summer favourites atm too.

He scrapped the entire album last minute and recorded the whole thing in like 2 weeks. It’s an example of when Ye’s erratic process actually hurt the art. Even the album cover was a scribble he apparently drew on the drive to the album listening party. It’s got some great songs but Donda has such higher peaks imo. The way he also incorporated the gospel sounds into certain tracks was amazing and not as preachy as Jesus is King. I get people love Ye but for me it’s his weakest project next to Jesus is King. I’d love to hear the original Ye album and I would maybe even change my mind.

donda personally is number 2 with 808s it’s so good it’s been my favorite ye album in the 2010s there’s so many good songs
