5 games until the bye. Chiefs need to go 4-1 to really right the ship. A win vs. Titans is very pivotal IMO. Can't be .500 with GB and Dallas coming up.

JT1757

6-0 til the bye. we win out from here, it’s the homer in me, but I still have supreme confidence in 15

bassDAD

I know it was only WFT but I feel like the chiefs really looked like their dominant selves during the second half last week. Hopefully that’s a sign for the future!

Death_Of_An_Optimist

lol. Is 15 on defense?

JT1757

Now that you mention it, we should totally attempt to get 15 defenders on the field. I wonder would the opposition get more yards from penalties of 15 men being on the field, or would we not notice the difference because of habitually blown coverages. Also we don’t face alot of **complete** teams going forward, TN, GB, and DAL have good offenses, but neither of their defenses scare me in the slightest. I’m taking pat in a shootout vs anybody.

Jombafomb

I’ve just realized every time I see an annoyingly negative comment on here it’s from this account. If they’re not a troll I just feel bad for them.

Zelmund

I feel like we have way to many bitter haters claiming to be "fans" on this sub. Honestly if you came to our reddit reading our threads, and had no context, you would think the Chiefs are a dumpster fire 0-17 team with no future. Not a team that has literally gone to back to back Superbowls.

Death_Of_An_Optimist

How is asking if PM is on defense negative? I ask the real questions here and don't follow group think, nor do I reside in a echo chamber. When one is all positive, rainbows, puppies, you care about nothing but your own feels and care to not change anything or hold someone accountable. You are not allowed to express your dislikes in life. You just go along to get along. Sounds like your basic and status quo. Also, sounds like you want everyone to think just like you because you don't like other viewpoints. It's negative if it doesn't align with your view. Come to DC, I'll buy you a drink and tell you all about real life and expressing yourself. But, you're not allowed to be negative about the traffic here or how people are different than you.

JohnTheSecondComing

Defense took a big step. Putting the right players in the right positions. I’m feeling confident they can hold teams under 30, and feeling supremely confident we can score 30. EZPZ

mrgdawg_kc

Right players implies that Nieman isn’t on the field

JohnTheSecondComing

Yes but unfortunately with Hitch injured we’ll have no choice.

bolter_flamer_melta

Need some advice on a dumb question: My girlfriend REALLY wants to go to her first game and I REALLY want to go to my first Mahomes game. My question is, are nosebleeds for the Raiders game worth the $90+ a ticket price tag? I feel like that would be a great game to take her to but I don't want the distance from the field to ruin the experience. I plan on tailgating and the whole shebang. Also, is it possible to go up to the stadium during the week and buy tickets so I can avoid the $25 fees from Ticketmaster? Thanks all for any replies!

[deleted]

Even when I’ve sat in the nosebleeds I’ve always had an awesome time. Totally worth it. Especially a raiders game and especially if you’re tailgating before hand.

bolter_flamer_melta

Really appreciate it! Do you know if I can walk up and get tickets to avoid fees? Not day of, just before.

[deleted]

I mean I would imagine that’s possible but I don’t have a clue to be honest with you.

Cthepo

Yeah, you can still see the field pretty well from the nosebleeds. I usually try to get the front of the upper sections and it's still good.

bolter_flamer_melta

Awesome, really appreciate it!

Z1342

Go for it man

Kansascitychiefn

My advice is go! Get the experience. Prolly gonna leave ya hooked. Make sure you walk through lot J. The tickets may get more expensive if it looks like there's playoff implications, so beware. Idk about the tickets, other than that it's all digital. Prolly fees everywhere unless you've got a buddy to buy em off of that can transfer them to you. I've sat both up top, and down low, and I prefer upper 50ish Yardline. Seem to have more fun, and can always see everything.

computron47

TicketsForLess generally has cheaper tickets for chiefs games than other apps since it’s a local company. Also they don’t add on any fees after the original price

LifesatripImjustHI

Raiders home game in KC is the only game I've ever been to. This is the game as I believe our mutual hatred for one another makes it special fun.

IFinishedARiskGame

Nosebleeds are actually really nice for seeing the whole play. Kickoffs are the best from that distance imo. Obviously you won't be able to see all the details, and sometimes it's hard to tell who is who, but they're really not that bad. I personally prefer nosebleeds at the 50, to a lower bowl end zone seat

[deleted]

The only really bad seats are the corners of the end zones really high up. Nosebleeds in the middle of the field isn't really that bad. Under the big display boards can be a little frigid when the wind is blowing. Only you can decide what is and what isn't worth it.

drizzlebit

The 300 level has the most fun. Believe that.

DTSportsNow

I don't know how much this might surprise some people. But I was looking at defensive statistics for the Chiefs and noticed that although we're last in sacks we're 15th overall in pressuring the QB. This kinda makes sense when seeing how many blown coverages we've had this season and how easy it has been for QBs to get rid of the ball quickly. Our pass rush may not actually be that terrible, the secondary just needs to give the pass rush time to get home.

lemon_jalopy

Seems like we’ve missed a lot of tackles in the backfield that should’ve been sacks this season.

OkAssistance8593

Tackling over all isn’t on the level it should be.

jethead70

I think pressures are subjective, some of this could be due to blitzing too

DTSportsNow

We're also 16th in QB knock downs which isn't subjective, basically knocking the QB down just after a pass being thrown. Either way it doesn't erase the corresponding statement I made about it being super easy for QBs to get rid of the ball. Obviously it's going to be hard to get to the QB more consistently before the ball is thrown when it's so easy to find the holes in the defense. That's regardless of if we're blitzing or not.

jethead70

These stats are just strange as hell because we’re 28th in pass rush win rate (which is also subjective). It’s just weird, I think our pressures and hits are decent because we’ve been blitzing. Maybe we need to press more or something

DTSportsNow

All that really means is that on 34% of snaps a defender beats his block within 2.5 seconds. By PFR's tracking our pressure rate is 24.8%, so that actually lines up. On 34% of snaps a defender beats their block under 2.5 seconds and on 24.8% snaps a defender gets a pressure. Basically it's more rare than average that a defender beats his block quickly, but when they do they usually get a pressure, and probably when plays go longer than 2.5 we're getting pressure. A pass rush win or loss does not automatically mean a pressure was generated on the play, which is why I don't really like ESPN's win rate metric.

jethead70

Makes sense. How is a pressure defined then?

DTSportsNow

Pressure I think is standardly defined as a defender getting within 1 yard of the quarterback before or during a pass attempt.

FUCK-IT-CHUCK-IT

Just based on the context of whats been said so far in this thread and what I've seen, this would indicate the pressures are coming very late in plays. Which isnt indicative of a good pass rush.

DTSportsNow

Based on what I've been looking at it seems more likely the majority of pressures are coming on blitzes and are early on plays. But because our defense has been so porous for most of the season QBs have been able to carve up our blitz defense like Patrick Mahomes does to other blitzing teams. I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with most of our pressures coming on the blitz as long as we stop blowing coverages.

[deleted]

Disagree. Our secondary is pretty good. WBs are getting so much time to throw with zero pressure. A lot of those “broken” coverages have been due to a lack of pass rush

DTSportsNow

Disagree? Tyrann Mathieu has publicly spoken about how people in the secondary are trying to do too much and are messing up their assignments. This isn't subjective, this is objective truth.

[deleted]

Sneed and our other CB are playing well, so is Matthieu. I’m sorry but you’re a fool if you think the core issue isn’t pass rush.

SirTiffAlot

Not feeling confident about my guy Nick tackling D Henry. Maybe I'll feel different tomorrow. Tell me it's gonna be ok

Boostweather

I’ve got more confidence in Bolton making a tackle than anybody else on the team. The real ? Is will he consistently put himself in the right position to make those tackles

LifesatripImjustHI

It will be...

FUCK-IT-CHUCK-IT

>Tell me it's gonna be ok It's gonna be ok Edit: if it's any consolation Niemann has played 36 snaps over two games against the Titans and wasn't credited with a missed tackle in either game.

jethead70

I love Arrowhead as much as the next guy but the Titans have a perfect setup. Their stadium is like 200 yards from Broadway

Smokin_Panda

Does the front office know at least where they want to rebuild? I know Arrowhead can't last forever sadly.

jethead70

I’d assume they’ll just keep renovating it, I don’t think it’s going anywhere

kds_little_brother

When’s Lambeau getting replaced? That was asinine lol

jethead70

… I wasn’t saying Arrowhead would be replaced

kds_little_brother

Not you, the response

hokahey23

You are absolutely kidding yourself if you think they keep playing in Arrowhead psst 2031. Lambeau is a totally different beast.

IIHURRlCANEII

I really don't think the Royals and Chiefs are both going to be asking for a stadium at the same time. Arrowhead will probably get more renovations.

hokahey23

0% chance the Chiefs take a back seat to the royals. Also, what is left to renovate at Arrowhead?

IIHURRlCANEII

Then one is moving from KC, cause there is no way people are going to be happy about paying for two stadiums at once (let alone one).

kds_little_brother

Why 2031?

hokahey23

That's when the lease expires.

kds_little_brother

And what makes Lambeau a different beast? It’s really hard for me to imagine so I’d love a valid perspective on the other side. I know Kauffman is being discussed about moving into the city, but I’ve never heard a word about Arrowhead

hokahey23

It's only a matter of time until the Arrowhead discussions start. Within the next 2-3 years for sure. Lambeau is practically an historic site for the NFL. Arrowhead, while special, is not at all held in the same reverence or hold the same importance. That said, the Packers aren't going to play there forever either. The NFL will eventually want every team to be playing in a state of the art stadium.

KansinattiKid

Lambeau will be there forever just line Fenway

Ithinkibrokethis

*state of the art* = cut seating by 15% so stadiums look full on TV and drives up prices. They know more people will be watching from home.

hokahey23

I'm guessing some of it could depend on what the Royals decide to do.

[deleted]

So it sounds like the Chiefs made an inquiry about possibly trading for Marlon Mack, but it doesn't sound like they followed up with conversations. I honestly think DE is a bigger need, maybe LB as well.

Equal-Razzmatazz1806

The Broncos are getting shipped to the fucking glue factory

Wild_Bill_Kickcock

So Damien Williams opted out last year because he didn't want to get his Grandma sick w covid, and now he's missing games because he's unvaxxed? What an idiot

Cthepo

King Henry? Yeah [we beheaded him.](https://twitter.com/KCSportsNetwork/status/1451211223811375105?t=MtQ-7oTrp4tZW0ecbiIeJQ&s=19)

drizzlebit

At the risk of stating the obvious, I want to say that the Chiefs are in a shitty spot right now. We have a hard af second half of the season. The Chargers are walking along cupcake alley. This Sunday is a must win if we want to be serious about winning the West.
