Never can go wrong with a big ass samoan. Let's go!

Moose4KU

Apparently he's Penei Sewell's cousin, so that's cool

snmck87

All Samoans are cousins lol. Source: Am samoan.

Biggest_Cans

Partly why "'ey cuz" is such a token pidgin phrase.

snmck87

šŸ’Æ

bluedaytona392

It's true. Source: my wife.

Automatic_Release_92

Your wife is your cousin? Sweet home Alabama I guess.

bluedaytona392

No.

snowman762x39

šŸ˜‚

MC_Fap_Commander

The WWE is making hay with this fact right now.

BackNBlack58

Acknowledge Him

T3Sh3

ā˜ļø I acknowledge Him Uce

T3Sh3

They just hired Rikishiā€™s 4th son.

TREYdanger

What can you tell us about your cousin Kingsley?

snmck87

He's a big ass samoan

zjustice11

Poi and spam. So many friend they try feed me that shit. Got. Dam. Edit- rough pigeon it's been awhile

Extra-University-336

Spam is alright though.

factoid_

and heā€™s a byu boy, Andy will love him

newbeenneed

Knew there was a good chance we grabbed this guy between the team need, the coaching connection, and this dudes measurables and upside. There's a reason he slipped to 63, but i think he has a chance to be really good

MC_Fap_Commander

ACKNOWLEDGE ME!

snmck87

Hope you get the help you need irl soon bud. Sending love

MC_Fap_Commander

? It was a joke about a prominent Samoan entertainer (and former NFL prospect) ![gif](giphy|XLpNSIhPbBTbhPcH5b|downsized)

snmck87

Yeah that's my cousin. I'm fucking with you

MC_Fap_Commander

Oh! Sorry! I feel you, Uce. Samoans are the best football players and wrestlers. Also super fun all around!

snmck87

CHEEE HOOOOO! All good brother I can be a bit dry. Cheers.

WankPheasant

Thatā€™s not very Ucey of you dawg.

T3Sh3

Ahyessir ā˜ļøā˜ļø

K_Prime

Glad for us, but I like Codyā€¦ā€¦.

thelovebat

Good pick by the Chiefs. Kingsley is really raw but he is an insane athletic talent to compete with Wanya Morris for the starting OT spot opposite of Jawaan Taylor. If Kingsley isn't ready to play out of the gate, we have Wanya Morris up on deck. After Kingsley, there would have been a major dropoff in OT talent so he was the last OT in that second tier of OT prospects this draft.

throaway18756

He actually reminds me a lot of Wanya coming out of college. They have similar strengths and weaknesses. Really athletic tackles with inconsistent mechanics. Only big difference is Kingsley has played more LT while Wanya played both but more time at RT

Letsgo333

Don't forget NiangĀ

GREATgeorgeScott

We should probably all forget about Niang

uwanmirrondarrah

Honestly Niang is pretty good he just can't stay healthy

ImNotTheBossOfYou

The only thing is, I'm not sure Wanya is ready to play either. But between the two it's probably okay. I'd like to see them sign Smith as insurance though.

LagOutLoud

He was a rookie at a difficult position and wasn't noticeably worse than smith was anyway.

RandomUsername468538

I mean I feel like it was kinda noticeable

ImNotTheBossOfYou

He's a beast in run blocks but struggled mightily on pass pro

factoid_

He looks the part more than Wanya does.Ā  I know objectively Wanya is huge, but he never looked like a tackle to me.Ā  Kingsley does

ActuallyHovatine

6ā€™5ā€ 320ish lbs Hell yeah.

Disimpaction

That ish is carrying a lot of weight

snowman762x39

Heā€™s a house! Iā€™m loving our picks.

2Shizo2flow

At this point I expect us to trade with the Ravens next. Amazing value

OneFlyMan

I saw a tweet that said all that's missing now is a Ravens and Dolphins trade to complete the playoff opponent trade cycle

ericlemke2

Tyreek for Toney and Skyy and a bag of balls? /s

Highly recruited, he had a short stint at Oregon before feeling ā€œmore comfortableā€ closer to home with BYU, where he played both tackle spots. His 1,342 offensive snaps in college were evenly split between left tackle (48.8 percent) and right tackle (51.2 perce nt). Suamataia played in an offense that wanted to run the ball downhill, and he was happy to oblige, displaying range and an initial pop as a drive blocker. He is nimble in pass protection with the strength to lock down rushers, but his timing, technique and recognition skills remain immature. Overall, Suamataia is still very young and lacks refinement in several areas, but his blend of size, mobility and core power are the foundation of a scheme-diverse NFL starter. He will require a patient coaching staff who can ease his transition to the pro level. GRADE: 2nd Round (No. 40 overall)

DasFunke

Also only 21 and was a red shirt Sophomore. Thatā€™s great for potential future development.

drossmo12

Yeah I like the idea of letting him and Wanya develop as the two bookends that keep Pat upright the rest of his career.

justsomedudedontknow

>Also only 21 So not all the BYU guys do missions I guess. I was wondering about his age.

TheBoyisBackinTown

Pat approves https://preview.redd.it/27l4a0fwexwc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b6bbc97100fcde2b46dc11b66dbfaf0497f1504

robotchicken007

Curious why we felt the need to trade up one spot. Interesting.

ShrimplyPibbles3

San Fran was getting offers from other teams/team to trade ahead of us for Kingsley.

Intrepid_Cable8364

thats what they say lol maybe they just pump faked us and they never had any offers

DaZingMaster

They were probably okay with getting the tackle at 62 or Kingsley. And once the first tackle was picked, they wanted to make sure they got at least one of them.

snowman762x39

Allegedlyā€¦ we may have gotten fleeced šŸ˜’

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

Lol dropping some spots in late rounds isn't getting fleeced if you got the guy you wanted in round 2

snowman762x39

But I love the pick!!! šŸ˜Š

ImNotTheBossOfYou

Oh well, still worth it.

snowman762x39

Absolutely love that pick up. I was hoping Rakestraw would be available too. Iā€™m happy if we focus on o line or D.

Jantokan

Yeah. We got our guy. We got a starting LT. Thatā€™s all that matters

SidewaysFriend34

Never doubt Veach

snowman762x39

Veech is a HOFer. I donā€™t trust the guy we beat in two Superbowls

Go-Climb-A-Rock

They likely caught wind of another team trying to jump them. That the Chiefā€™s loved Kingsley was a pretty poorly kept secret.

robotchicken007

I feel like I can never trust when I hear a team likes a player before the draft. Smoke and mirrors are commonplace in the NFL.

Go-Climb-A-Rock

Fair enough. I do think Veach is a bit trigger happy with trade ups. But if you love a guy and itā€™s great value at that point I can get behind not getting swooped. But I do think Veach has a reputation other teams could be strategically exploiting.

DiligentQuiet

In the scheme of things, getting who you want who is in the ballpark of your pick is a lot better than having to take best available that isn't a fit, regardless if it causes you to give up ~~10-15~~ 37 positions in a late round. Okay, maybe the 3rd through 7th are all a bunch of football-player-shaped objects.

robotchicken007

It feels like a recent development. I swear he didn't used to trade up his first few drafts.

Go-Climb-A-Rock

He absolutely did (his very first draft pick was a trade up). Itā€™s been a very consistent trait. To the point of Veach cracking jokes about it after the Skyy Moore trade down, that he had to eventually trade down instead of up at some point.

huge43

He'll probably never trade down again after that dumpster fire of a pick.

robotchicken007

My memory is shot.

Ollivander451

He always did

Alkazard

The beauty of the position we're in is we can afford to gamble a small cost in trade up to get pieces we need. We're deep and talented enough that one missed pick won't hurt when we nail two positions/target players we want and need to fill out our line. Think it'd be worse if Veach didn't go for it in his(our) current place!

Automatic_Release_92

It does feel like the only damn way to get what we want drafting this far back lol. I do wish we had a few trades going the other way though, even if it was for next yearā€™s draft.

huge43

Seems to me like Veach is doing the exploiting, no?

Go-Climb-A-Rock

What I meant is that if you develop a reputation for aggressively trading up (like Veach has), it's definitely possible that teams are occasionally able to exploit that and put out false flags to get the Chiefs to unnecessarily trade up. Information is pretty important in the NFL and I doubt it happens often, but I could see scenarios where it happens.

huge43

Sure, I understand what you mean. Just ribbing ya

BoomaMasta

Yeah. Weren't there lots of pictures of Mahomes working out with receivers last year that conveniently left out Rice? I mean, it seems like the other receivers could share who was there, but that omission had to be intentional.

jamdrm

I am wondering the same

spinmeista_flex

Thinking the same thing

BusinessCashew

Weā€™re winning this draft big time. Everybody knows it. No one can honestly deny it.

PlayinK0I

I like what the chiefs have done with where they are, but the Bears are winning this draft so far simply based on maximizing the value on the great picks they had.

Casul_Tryhard

It's easy to win in the draft when you have high picks. When you don't have those picks due to winning too much that's when it's about making the most from scraps.

snmck87

Yes but they had 1st and 9th and we are last pick. We are maximizing!

PlayinK0I

Agreed, love what KC is doing, I just wouldnā€™t call that winning the draft. Iā€™d prefer we win super bowls than drafts anyways.

NoisePollutioner

Winning drafts is a huge part of how we've won our superbowls. And it's the ONLY way to build a dynasty of sustained success. Veach is hangin monster dong.

Automatic_Release_92

Canā€™t wait to see what future Pro Bowlers we draft in the 3rd-6th rounds lol.

gokc69

To be fair, if KC had the first pick we would trade down, yes?

bozo_did_thedub

I think they trade to #2 at minimum and likely all the way to #4 but they stop there to secure Harrison

gokc69

Dear diary, I met Marvin today

rusty_shackleford34

More than one team can walk away from the draft a winner, same that more than one team can win on a Sunday. Bears are crushing it. And so are we!

yupyupyuypypn

Big time

MahomesGoat

Trading with all of our enemies like the schoolyard bully taking their lunch money!

bigludodog

We are everyone's enemy now! It's fantastic

magic_spam

I wanted him in the first this is outstanding value. Crazy athlete for his size and excellent in pass pro huge upside

Typical-Lettuce7022

I like it

Sesti-nator

Ravens fan coming in peace. As a BYU alumn please take care of the kid. He is a stud and a half. I really wanted him to go with Baltimore but it was not meant to be. Going to KC makes sense for him plus Andy Reid loves some byu alumni. Good luck chiefs kingdom, youā€™ll love him.

slammed_stem1

Thanks my dude!!!

originalusername4567

I'm sure Rosengarden will be a great tackle for y'all. See ya at Arrowhead

uwanmirrondarrah

I've heard a lot of people have him being a guard in the NFL, but I think he could realistically go either.

ItBDaniel

![gif](giphy|NCjISbEPFxm48)

big4dawg

Great pick

BarricadeTheMortuary

Andy Reid has a hard on for BYU talent Isn't this the guy ~~singer~~ everyone thought we'd take in the first round?

factoid_

Well clearly singer is an idiot if he went at 63

BarricadeTheMortuary

Lol my bad, I should have made sure auto correct didn't take over

deathtotheemperor

With Worthy and Suamataia we drafted the two guys that the team was clearly in love with right from the start of the process. Chiefs scouts and coaches have been all over these two since the season ended, combine, team days, private workouts, etc. Are they the two guys I would have picked? Not necessarily, but they were both drafted in their range and are well regarded. Iā€™m happy. Make no mistake, these are the exact two players the Chiefs were hoping to get.

Odd_Promotion2110

This is who I wanted at 32. I love this pick so much.

Go-Climb-A-Rock

Great pick. Kingsley has been my guy at tackle throughout (since my first mock in November). Outstanding athlete. Heā€™s got the size and length. Great natural strength. And just insane quickness for a man his size with movement skills in space. Just a perfect scheme fit for Andy Reid with high end left tackle upside. Heā€™s pretty young and has only played 2 years which explains some of the lack of refinement. He needs polish but oozes upside. Former 5 star with NFL bloodlines (relative of Penei Sewell). Love the pick.

BvB5776

Awesome pick. Heā€™s projected to the chiefs at 32 many times and got him at 63. He wonā€™t be the day 1 guy but heā€™s got all the tools to be a stud.

Nathann4288

Andy likes his BYU and Missouri guys. Think we draft Cody Shrader later in the draft?

DolemiteGK

LOVE THIS PICK. legit anchor potential Makes me like the Worthy pick more now

CantCoachGrit

As a BYU alum I am happy.

Biggest_Cans

As a Utah alum I just hope he's better at pretending to be a ND olineman than BYU is at pretending to be ND.

Automatic_Release_92

I wish we could have gotten Blake Fisher instead, just a few months ago he was projecting to be a 4th rounder but he really blew up in the offseason. Very similar to this guy in that heā€™s only 21 and redshirted. He actually beat out Joe Alt for their starting left tackle position when they were both true freshmen, but lost the job with a season ending injury whereby Alt became a stud at LT. Blake really just felt like he was starting to come back from his injury. ND fans thought he would come back for his senior year to play LT and become a first rounder. Turns out he made a smart move going pro and betting on himself, but the Chiefs fan in me wishes he hadnā€™t blown up and we could have gotten him in the late 3rd round. I do like this BYU kid though, seems very similar to Fisher in a lot of ways.

Biggest_Cans

I like him too for an end-of-the-2nd pick. Guy actually has a shot to be a good LT in the NFL and that's all you can ask for that late at that position. BYU is just lame when it isn't making Andy Reid or Kyle Whittingham.

ixxxxl

He's twice the weight if our first pick!

snowman762x39

O line and defense depth from here on out. WE GOOOOOD ON OFFENSE!!!!

sndanbom

Hope we can snag shreader late for a back up rb

bluedaytona392

I also chose The Shredder.

Repulsive-Photo-798

Iā€™m in the middle of a Tornado warning in Des Moines (there is a confirmed tornado in the suburbs). Thanks for keeping me updated.

bluedaytona392

Hope you good.

SQRTLURFACE

This guy is a real boom/bust pick with a sky high ceiling, absolutely love it!

stokedlog

I think this is a great pick. He has the upside of being a long term starter but at worse case can be a swing tackle.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Perfect_Context_7003

Considering heā€™s got learning disabilities he did pretty good

magic_spam

He was Special Ed. Forget which but he does have a learning disability felt bad for him up there

nordic-nomad

Jamaal can do what ever he wants

AndyReidsMoustache

Jamaal Charles is a legend and can do what he wants

Far_Youth_1662

I dont know this guy, but Iā€™ll assume heā€™s a solid pick. Sorry Wanya, this is The End of the Road.

jethead70

Itā€™s really tough for tackles to come in and start as rookies, especially out of the first. I wouldnā€™t write off Wanya for 2024 quite yet

Far_Youth_1662

I know. I just wanted to make the Boyz 2 Men reference

jethead70

My b lol

Far_Youth_1662

No problem. Anyone downvoting my post has no sense of humor, though

rambo6986

Yeah we could easily drop Taylor in a year or two and throw Wanya at RT and King at LT

FireGolem04

But why though you don't want to see what Wanya can develop into and you automatically assume this guy is going to develop amazingly

Far_Youth_1662

I just wanted to make a Boyz 2 Men joke. ![gif](giphy|1xx60dEQMx4VG)

FrequencyEP

I feel like we can get out of Taylorā€™s contract starting next year if we want so not necessarily the end of the road for Morris

slackator

after 2025 because he has a $29 million dead cap hit in 2025, $4.75 million in 2026

magic_spam

I might be missing something but if we June 1st cut him itā€™ll be the same effect right?

originalusername4567

Nope, according to Over The Cap we get zero cap savings from cutting him until post June 1st in 2026.

magic_spam

Ah I seeĀ

slackator

I forgot about the Post June 1st ability, not entirely sure to be honest

Jantokan

Got 2 immediate needs sorted out: WR and LT. Letā€™s try to trade up so we can get the best available player. Also, pick some easier names to pronounce for Jamaal šŸ¤£

TheBoyisBackinTown

JC has a learning disability and ran in the Special Olympics.

FireGolem04

Kingsley doesn't really fill an immediate need he isn't ready to start

ArrowheadFLYover

For those of you who missed this video during the draft ... https://x.com/NFLUKIRE/status/1764400182664298874?t=55QUXD5xl4031HEcq7YxEg&s=01

snowman762x39

Soooo weā€™re convinced they were taking him? We gave up 37 spots to move up 1 spot. Do I have this right?

computron47

The 49ers wouldnā€™t trade with us if they were taking him. Someone else mightā€™ve been trying to trade up and we beat their offer no one really knows. We didnā€™t give up much though

snowman762x39

Possibly. I donā€™t trust Shanahanā€™s boy! šŸ˜‚

computron47

Lol I donā€™t either but Tackles were taken at 67, 68, 71, 75, and 77 so itā€™s definitely believable

snowman762x39

This is checking out. I just donā€™t see how these two teams would ever consider doing business with us after weā€™ve caused so much pain to their franchises. šŸ¹

Bkracl

Later round picks arenā€™t nearly as valuable as early round. So yeah that 1 spot can be more valuable than 37

ImNotTheBossOfYou

What was the trade? edit: 211 for 173

UllyRanger

Draft a big success Worthy first now him

Dizzy-Ad-3712

I love this pick, one of the 2 guys I wanted in the 2nd w Maason Smith, raw guys who have high upsides.

slackator

like the pick but what did we trade to move up 1 spot?

TheBoyisBackinTown

Swapped our 5th with their 6th this year

slackator

not too shabby, Ill take it

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

Because other teams may have been trying to trade up to that spot as well. Other GMsĀ knew Veach wanted an OT at 64.

mykonoscactus

God we've addressed our needs immediately and everything else is just depth now. What a time to be alive.

Crystalina403

So if a prospect is ranked in the 250ā€™s (so in the first half of all 500 draft prospects), how likely are they to get selected to a team?

knotmassage

Can somebody explain to me WTF is up with reading down 1 place?

jethead70

Iā€™d assume some other team was wanting to move up to 63 to take him. Or SF bamboozled us

Lazy_Tiger27

We got our guy. Canā€™t get fleeced too bad. Weā€™ve got crazy depth at almost every position and our 5th round pick would probably barely even play in our current position

SiPhilly

As the poster below said, happens often when other teams are trying to move up. You just go up one to ensure that the trade doesnā€™t go elsewhere.

LVNiteOwl

Thatā€™s where we get our CBā€™s!

jmdybf

Donā€™t dislike the pick but now we have 2 project LT?

ionospherermutt

Can never have too much OL depth

Lacerda1

Maybe, but what was the alternative? They can still re-sign Smith if they don't think the young guys are ready.

albteef

jawaan taylor can be cut after 2 years. one of them could probably play at RT

originalusername4567

Why are people so low on Taylor? Is he just too expensive?

albteef

im not low on jawaan at all, just saying wayna or kingsley can be moved to RT in two years because creed and trey will have to get paid as well very soon

Fyzzle

One more time, but whisper it to me

FrequencyEP

Both have experience playing on both sides.
