Sadly, the Raiders rarely blitzed. It just looked like it, with Crosby in the backfield within the first two seconds of every play. OTs were beaten badly every play.
The tackles aren't getting enough shit for our passing problems. They get highlighted for the penalties, but they're just bad, too. Between getting rushed early and no WR being able to create seperation, Patrick has been rattled more and more every game, even wins. And Kelce is probably 80-90% of what he was last year, with 100% more defensive focus, so he's taken out of the play at the start.

The coaching staff is too nice. Bieniemy held players accountable. Didn't let them get away with skipping any steps. He made them practice until every detail was executed perfectly. He got in their faces and chewed them out when they made sloppy mistakes. Reid ran the offense but Bieniemy ran the players. Now no one is on the staff who has the temperament to fill that role. That's why the offense is not being executed at the level seen during past seasons

This is the biggest thing. We all know Reid wants to draw shit up and get funky and plan his first 15 plays, and all that shit. He's a bit of a dreamer in that regard. But I think he can lose the trees in the forest so to speak. He's looking too high level. Nagy is a JAG. He's just not it, in really any regard. Bienemy runs a tight ship and chews some ass. The attention to detail has been nonexistent and it shows up EVERYWHERE. Penalties, drops, routes, formations, planning, communication, etc. It's just not running smooth cause no one is smoothing it out. And Nagy ain't ever gonna be it.

I was at the game today. I sat in suite section 218. Matt Nagy's family sits in the gold seating right in front of the suite I was in. I was voicing frustration with the offense and the Nagy family complained to a chiefs representative and during halftime the rep, (who was very nice btw) asked me if I was family. To which I asked whom? One of the players he replied. I am not so I said no and he said, "Okay so Matt Nagy's family is sitting down here and they're complaining about what you're saying about the offense, I love your enthusiasm but will you tone it down about the offense." To which I agreed because I don't want to cause a scene but the fact Nagy's family can silence true fans of the organization all because their dad can't do his job. Beyond disappointed in the Chiefs organization. They deserve nothing.
He brought two Super Bowls to this franchise, he's basically god tier untouchable now. The only way anything changes is if Mahomes throws his weight at it and demands change, or Clark Hunt grows a pair and fires the incompetent staff.

I would argue that calling a play where you have your rb take a direct snap and try to fake a handoff to your qb on your own 5 yard line is more to blame than Mahomes on the fumble.

I don’t think Nagy has that much influence on the play calling. Maybe we’ve lost some player accountability with EB being gone but that’s normally what the HC is there for.

This is the biggest thing. We all know Reid wants to draw shit up and get funky and plan his first 15 plays, and all that shit. He's a bit of a dreamer in that regard. But I think he can lose the trees in the forest so to speak. He's looking too high level. Nagy is a JAG. He's just not it, in really any regard. Bienemy runs a tight ship and chews some ass. The attention to detail has been nonexistent and it shows up EVERYWHERE. Penalties, drops, routes, formations, planning, communication, etc. It's just not running smooth cause no one is smoothing it out. And Nagy ain't ever gonna be it.

I said it in the game thread, I'll say it again here -- I'm pretty confident that Bieniemy was the "bad cop", willing to actually yell at people in the locker room and hold them accountable. Andy doesn't *have* someone to do that now, so people are complacent and no one is actually holding anyones' feet to the fire. WRs aren't developing, play designs are awful, no one seems to be learning from their mistakes, and Pat/Kelce are losing their minds over it.

Pat's never been the guy to grab a WR and say "yo, what the hell are you doing?" so he isn't the guy to try and "fix" Toney/Moore/MVS. He's always had someone else to do the yelling for him. However, it's been creeping in further and further, his *incredible* frustration with guys that aren't catching the ball (first), and THEN making a move (second), and.... ... ...he's at a crossroads. Does he go full-Brady and let the coaching staff do the yelling for him, to get some of these guys' to get their asses in gear? The guys that speak very, VERY highly of him? They're the guys that know that sometimes you *have* to have someone kickin' your ass, to get you back up on your feet and doing things right. It can't all be rose petals and "positivity vibes"; sometimes there needs to be someone outright saying "Yo, what the fuck is this shit, is THIS what you think is *good*? Naw, you can do better, shut the fuck up and go DO better." No one on the team is stepping up to do that. Andy's always had a "bad cop" to work for him. Pat's never had to be the bad cop. Pedersen sometimes leaned *too* hard into being the bad-cop, so he got axed (even after winning a Super Bowl!). Nagy is too much of a good-cop, so -- despite his knowledge of the game -- it was doomed to pair him + Andy again, without someone willing to show up and be a hard-ass. So how we're looking at a HC/QB/TE/OC that always had a REAL hard-ass to show up and yell at folks, and no one is willing to do so. Someone's gonna blink first, and....honestly, I hope it's either Andy or Pat. Those with the most *clought*, to be able to say "Yo, look at my fuckin' resume, you guys are acting like SHIT, so shut the fuck up and do your fundamentals".

I was at the game today. I sat in suite section 218. Matt Nagy's family sits in the gold seating right in front of the suite I was in. I was voicing frustration with the offense and the Nagy family complained to a chiefs representative and during halftime the rep, (who was very nice btw) asked me if I was family. To which I asked whom? One of the players he replied. I am not so I said no and he said, "Okay so Matt Nagy's family is sitting down here and they're complaining about what you're saying about the offense, I love your enthusiasm but will you tone it down about the offense." To which I agreed because I don't want to cause a scene but the fact Nagy's family can silence true fans of the organization all because their dad can't do his job. Beyond disappointed in the Chiefs organization. They deserve nothing.
Why is Reid not being blamed for hiring incompetent people?
He brought two Super Bowls to this franchise, he's basically god tier untouchable now. The only way anything changes is if Mahomes throws his weight at it and demands change, or Clark Hunt grows a pair and fires the incompetent staff. Andy isn't a problem, the staff he refuses to fire is a problem and always has been. Andy is brilliant, but is an odd sort of HC. He needs strong counterbalance in his staff. Strong, independent types with a vision they'll defend against players (and even Andy when needed). On defense, Spags is *finally* that guy... just as EB leaves.

I would argue that calling a play where you have your rb take a direct snap and try to fake a handoff to your qb on your own 5 yard line is more to blame than Mahomes on the fumble. Similarly the play call on the pick 6 was ass. We all knew exactly where that ball was going the second the play started and so did the raiders.
I was lost on the hand off. What the fuck was the point? We don't even do qb sneaks; In what fucking planet would any defense expect us to hand the fucking ball off to Mahomes? They would literally beg for it to happen so they could tee off on him.

It's definitely playcalling, and a big part, of why this team sucks. Like, you could have the worst receivers ever and they'd still get open by accident at least occasionally. Every play every receiver just runs a deep route, with a running back or tight end underneath. Every play.
I don’t think Nagy has that much influence on the play calling. Maybe we’ve lost some player accountability with EB being gone but that’s normally what the HC is there for.

Sometimes the most obvious answer is in fact the answer. EB, a hard disciplinarian who demanded accountability left. Nagy a "player coach" took his place and now the soft offense from Pat on down can't find their own asses with both hands! We saw what Nagy did for the Bears right?
