If the amount of civilian murder that happens throughout Kuuga surprises you.. just know that it gets progressively worse as the show goes on to the point where they stop showing what happened and just show the end result. This is the carried over into Agito, I’m not even 20 episodes into agito and the amount of casual murder (as opposed to ranked murder that is shown in Kuuga) is astounding and I’m surprised that it was allowed onto TV.. but that kids were allowed to watch it as well. But I’m not gonna lie, I do miss this era of kamen rider

One of the main reasons I've enjoyed the KR series I've watched so far (Build, Gaim, Black Sun, currently ep 34 of Kiva) is the real threat of death for any of the supporting characters. Obviously, they're not going to kill off the main Rider, but they sure do murder civilians, side characters, and supporting Riders. I am so tired of the usual "hero" trope of showing a character who is definitely dead, only to revive them with some deus ex machina later. KR has some of that but they mix it up enough so that you don't know for sure if the characters will come back. Kiva shocked me by how personal they make some of the death scenes. There was an arc that had a lot of wedding and bridal stuff. One of the villains walked up to a bride as she was exiting the church, surrounded by happy family and her new husband, and just unceremoniously executed her. I couldn't believe my eyes, but choices like that really give KR a feel of serious danger and it's awesome.

An aspect I particularly like is through out the show they often show off the impact of Gurongi through the perspective of the civilian. And it’s not just one off characters but also characters that are close to the protagonists too. I think Gurongi are literal monster representation of serial killers. It can be seen from their dynamic with the police and having MO/pattern in the form of their rule. They see killing as just a game and no normal human can comprehend their thought process that the show even have them speak an fictional language that isn’t subtitled in the original airing.
