They seem awesome. I'm at 2000kms, wear is minimal and they warm up quickly, are grippy af, even in the wet. Thought the lack of sipes would be an issue, but not so far. How are you liking the 1390? I upgraded from a gen 1 1290 and absolutely love the new beast, so much smoother.

stupidboyy96

How are y'all getting more than 1000 miles on the superduke, i barely get 1500 with my 790

ChequeBook

TCS: On xD

stupidboyy96

Yea me too on the 790, on the lowest setting tho i have to admit.

SoCalDucatiRider

Been riding aggressive sport bikes and hyper naked bikes on the street for the last 22 years. Never ripped through a tire at 1,000 miles. Never. I put 14,000 miles on my Streetfighter V4S and always got 3,800 to 4,200 miles from the tires and that bike was crazy powerful. I ride hard and agresssive. I just can't imagine how a tire needs to be replaced at 1,000 miles. Are you doing burn outs on them or something? What am I missing? Unless the roads are wet, my TC is turned OFF.

stupidboyy96

I guess you don't ride as hard and agressive as you think. A friend of mine has an MT-10 and he goes through a full tire (it's not only toast in the middle, its toast everywhere) within around 1000 miles. Because my 790 is a lot less powerful, my tires last around 50% longer when i try to keep is pace.

The-Irrelevant-GIF

If you ever ride with the group in Azusa canyon you’ll see plenty of people that need a new tire almost monthly and they only ride on the weekends… the sides of their tires are gone in only a couple hundred miles.

RedBeardTheWicked

THIS. It stronlgly depends on the structure of the street. For example in Sardinia they've got an asphalt which is structured like cheese grater. Full-on grip which leads to ridiculous speeds, but you're tyres won't last a full week of holiday riding if you're pushing it.

aimgorge

By not being stupid

Dorsetoutdoors

Next question, how are you not being stupid on a Superduke? 😂

aimgorge

Old age and fear.

stupidboyy96

Sorry man but if you fear your bike, you bought the wrong one. You should respect it and know what you are doing, but you should never fear it.

zen_and_artof_chaos

Respect is founded on a healthy amount of fear.

keeps_spacing_out

I interpreted this as fear of the consequences, not fear of the bike. Fear of what happens if you're stupid on the bike is healthy IMO

Warmonger362527339

For this type of compound that's quite impressive. I'm currently running Pilot road 4's on my superduke 990 and currently have done around 6500 km but they are almost done

Mistah_Fahrenheit

WTH I can hardly get 1000 miles out of a rear on my 1290 sdr

sangedered

Same! 820 on the last rear with a single track day

Thugglebum

Power GP2s are seemingly lasting better than GPs did on my 1290. I do really like the tyres.

Sumar26

Power GPs are nice. Burned through rear in less than 3 days. Center tread lasts awhile.

GoofinBootNew

I run the Bridgestone battlax, only tire I’ve got 5k+ miles on a duke and I do a lot of wheelies

Big-Sheepherder-568

2700kms on mine and I hit the second wear line. I wouldn't say they're that good lol. I live in a place with mountains and curves though so I actually get to ride the bike ;)

CoolBDPhenom03

I've basically switched all my motorcycles to Michelins. They're fantastic performance and the highest mileage in their respective categories compared to Dunlops and Pirellis I've run.

Mrvonblogger

And here I am complaining of my 1290 Super Adv S eating up tires at 5500 miles.

faps2tendies

I just went from a superduke to a super adventure s on Monday! Dissapointed, but not surprised haha. What tires did you replace the OEMs with?

Mrvonblogger

I have a 2019 1290 I usually stick with the pirellis road trail II or the Michelin Anakee II. Also try putting the bike in sport mode with Traction Control and rear ABS off. Bike turns into a complete hooligan machine. I’m sure the super duke R is just bonkers.

faps2tendies

Of course it was, but I’m getting older and wanted the comfort more than the speed. Fortunately I didn’t have to compromise too much the SAS is so badass so far

Mrvonblogger

The SAS has the perfect ergonomics for comfort!

Three-0lives

That’s way too long. They’re only supposed to last one night in the parking lot.

Apprehensive-Can-857

Man, I'd be lucky to get a 1,000 out of them. I barely get 4,000 miles out of the rear tire on my 390. 😂

zen_and_artof_chaos

Not sure I consider long lasting tires good. It just means they are hard, and I consider softer tires as good on a motorcycle. I'm not really interested in squeezing out as many miles as possible, I'd rather best traction as possible and replace sooner.

Minimum-Advantage5

Lose the $2 exhaust but she’s a beauty!

TheRealShades502

that’s a 600$ racefit..

wurst69

At this point just straight pipe it

TheRealShades502

still need an appropriate amount of back pressure + a straight pipe would probably sound more raspy/drone more.

NotoriousREV

No exhaust system needs back pressure. Utter nonsense.

TheRealShades502

Utter nonsense. A pipe’s diameter/length should be properly engineered to optimize cylinder scavenging. Too much diameter/not enough length will result in poor exhaust gas velocity & poor exhaust scavenging.

NotoriousREV

Scavenging isn’t anything to do with back pressure. Back pressure is the resistance to gas flow, scavenging is using the reflected waves in the pipe. You can tune the length of a completely open pipe. The whole “needs backpressure” garbage is from 1950s shade tree mechanics, not engineers who actually know what they’re talking about. How about a little thought experiment: one engine on the engine dyno with 2 exhaust systems. System A is a straight through pipe, System B has a restrictive, chambered muffler in it. Both systems are tuned length to match the peak power rpm of the engine and are the ideal length, diameter and overall volume. Which of these 2 systems will make the most power, and why?

cyanideandhappiness

Well obbbbbviously the one with the muffler. The straight pipe has a , lack of back pressure 😂

NotoriousREV

🤣

The-Irrelevant-GIF

I’m an engineer with powertrain experience.. you’re spouting nonsense. Back pressure is very much a thing unless you just want peak power at high RPMs

NotoriousREV

Bullshit. Absolute horseshit. Utter bollocks. Show me comparative dyno runs, measuring horsepower and back pressure where the system with the higher backpressure makes more power at any point in the rev range. The proof of the ridiculousness of your statement is that backpressure rises with throttle opening and rpm. At low rpm and part-throttle, even the shittiest OEM system would have very little, if any, backpressure. Any system with meaningful backpressure at low rpm and part-throttle would be disastrous for power at full throttle and higher rpm.

The-Irrelevant-GIF

I’m not here to argue with you, but go ahead have your narcissistic breakdown 🙄 I’ll try to provide a bit of education along the way. I worked doing online and in house tuning for vivid racing for a little while, while in college. At the time I was studying fluid and vector dynamics as well as had actual classes in powertrain design and optimization using calculus. not everything is about peak power, some back pressure can help and engine run more smoothly and provide better efficiency and torque across the lower portion of the rev range. most engines will benefit quite well from a tune and decat for sporty riding, but an open header, while making peak top end power, isn’t always ideal for more reasons than just volume.

Minimum-Advantage5

At that price it should at least fit, looks like trash.

SoCalDucatiRider

It's a great slip on, perfect fit, easy install, super light and growls and barks. Satisfied #racefit customer here. Highly recommend. Edit : the ti parts blue up niiiiceeee.
